Loved this book, perfect getaway from life!

Lots of laugh out loud moments. Hannah can't seem to get and keep a man so she gets help from her best friend to find her an husband!! Not a date, an husband. Who she won't meet until she up the aisle standing by his side on her wedding day! What could go wrong?

Brilliant story, loved it

The premise of this book had me intrigued and as soon as I started reading I was hooked and couldn’t wait to find out what was in store for these characters!

I loved how the book started with a prologue where we got to meet Hannah, clutching her father’s elbow as she’s waiting to walk down the aisle. We are then taken back eight months earlier and get to learn more about Hannah and the unusual (and slightly crazy) idea she has which leads to her getting married so quickly; to a man she has never met!

Hannah works alongside her best friend Jess, helping to run her online dating business ‘Save The Date’. However, when the business begins to struggle financially Hannah comes up with a way of generating new interest in the dating app. She suggests that Jess uses the app to find Hannah a man who she will meet for the first time at the altar, on her wedding day. After all, the app’s USP is that it is aimed at those who are looking to enter into a long term relationship, with the hope of them one day getting married. What better way to encourage interest in the app then a real life love story! But in the modern world of online dating, is it possible to find true love?

I really enjoyed how the story had alternate chapters from the perspectives of Hannah and Jess (both in the third person) as it really allowed for each of their experiences and feelings to be explored as they embarked on this unique journey together. Hannah has always admired her best friend Jess and her seemingly perfect life, but it soon becomes clear that Jess has her own struggles. Whilst she and Tom have known each other for twenty years, been married for almost ten and have eight year old twins together, Jess can’t help but wonder where the spark has gone. Hannah finds herself experiencing a real rollercoaster of emotions as she tries to come to terms with the very unique situation she find herself in and I felt so invested in her journey!

The story has the perfect balance of events leading up to the wedding between Hannah and Toby, the man Jess has selected as her husband to be (or Toby-to-be as Hannah affectionately thinks of him) and those that take place after. I loved reading the blog posts they each wrote to each other in the lead up to the big day which were posted on the ‘Save The Date’ website. It was clever how we, as the reader, got to learn more about Toby at the same time Hannah did, and my heart really went out to him when he revealed a key piece of his past.

There are some really heart-warming scenes throughout the book, especially between Hannah and her Grandmother (known as G-ma). I loved the familial relationships and friendships in this story and how important honest conversations were for these characters. The epilogue too made me smile so much and I love to imagine what Hannah and Jess are doing now.

Thank you Claire Frost for creating these wonderful characters, whom I have loved spending time with. I will always have a soft spot for Toby!

I really liked this!
I was a bit uncertain of the premise at first and was worried it would be too cliche and unrealistic but I think that was written in a genuinely believable way, as well as being well written and entertaining,
I think the characters were portrayed really realistically and often came across as quite un-likeable, but to me this made them seem more normal.
Overall, I really enjoyed this and would recommend,

What a treat during this weird time

I thoroughly enjoyed Married At First Swipe. Funny, feel good full of love, friendship & relationships and an insight to online dating. Would you get married at first sight? Great characters with oomph that you get invested in each and everyone of them

A sequel would work more so that we can explore the relationship a year/18months on

This is the 1st Book I have read by the author if they are anything as amazing as this book I be onto a good thing.

This book tells the story of Best Friends Jess & Hannah, Jess is happy married to Tom and has twins whilst Hannah is single, Jess and Hannah run a online Dating App one day Hannah comes up with the idea to put herself up on the dating app to get married to gain more expose for the dating app company that struggling and get a husband in the end.

Jess go through the applicants and picks a husband for Hannah and hannah gets to meet her Husband at the aisle , What happens next you have to read to find out as don’t want to give any spoilers away.

This Book remind me of don’t tell the bride tv programme as in the groom organised everything for the wedding and the bride has no idea but in case of the book Jess the best friend organise everything.

I loved this book and would give it 5 out of 5 stars,

With thanks to Netgalley & Simon & Schuster UK for the arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Married at First Swipe is a fun story of a modern-day arranged marriage with a difference and I loved it immediately.

Hannah works for her best friend Jess on her dating app called Save the Date. Jess had got into some financial difficulties and Hannah came up with the hair-brained idea that Jess should find her a husband through the app, and but not meet him until their wedding day. The ultimate blind date! They decided that the exposure in the press and on social media might just save the business.

The first half of the story focuses on the lead up to the wedding. Obviously, I believe in the sanctity of marriage, but this was a fun adventure to follow, a bit of ridiculous light relief.

The second half is more serious as the newlyweds get to know each other. It also looks into the more realistic issues of relationships, including the marriages of Jess, Hannah's parents, and grandparents.

I really enjoyed this. It was well written and all the characters were interesting and far from being perfect.

* I presume the publishers/editors know but there is some editing needed at the end of chapters 10, 11, and 15 as there are some incomplete sentences.

Loved, Loved, Loved it! This is probably one of the easiest book reviews I have written to date.

I actually wanted to read this book again once I had finished it. It may be because the story is set in Manchester (my hometown) but I actually loved all of the main characters.
When I first read the description, I thought it sounded rather farfetched nut having watcher Married at First Sight recently, I thought it may be quite similar… I’m glad to say, it wasn’t! (well apart from marrying strangers obviously!)
Hannah is very much like myself, single, well-travelled and loves being independent, a relationship just had to fit in with future adventures. I’d be more than happy for one of my friends to set me up with someone they’ve found online – well, maybe!

Hannah and Jess work together, in Jess’ back garden ‘office’ for Jess’ online dating business, ‘Save the Date’. STD was struggling financially so an idea popped into Jess’ head to have a STD wedding… a BLIND DATE WEDDING! During this time, Jess’s stress caused strain on her own marriage and family life, I liked that this was part of the book. It made it more ‘real life’ to read about relationship struggles with couples who appear perfect to outsiders.

Toby (The husband-to-be) seems to have more of a hidden depth, has had a heartbreaking past which took him out of the dating game and was urged by his sister to sign up for Save The Date. There was something about his parents which I wasn’t too keen on, I don’t know what it was but I got the vibes that they wanted to shield Toby from further heartache which I understand but I feel that there was more to it.

I really liked the little blog posts that were open letters to the bride and groom to be. I think I’d have been intrigued by it if I’d have come across it in real life too, its no wonder the public got involved!

I think I’ve given enough away without spoiling the whole book so it’s 5 stars from me!

Thank you to Simon & Schuster UK and NetGalley for the ARC.

I loved this book! For me this book was up there similar to a Mhairi McFarlane which is as high as a compliment I can give!

Thanks to Simon Schuster UK and Netgalley for an early review copy of this book.

What can I say? It's funny, romantic, emotional and a perfect escapist read for these weird times we're living in. I loved the almost sisterly relationship between Hannah and Jess, they were great main characters.

I thought the blog posts were an interesting way to find out more about Hannah and Toby, it worked really well. (Also Tom's nickname being Tank -LOL!!!!!)

A perfect read for laugh out comedy and relaxing, I'll definitely be recommending this to others.

This was such a cute read. The concept was a little bonkers when you think about it but the way in which it was done was really good.

I liked what it had to say about relationships and how they need work to continue to work year in year out. Jess’s story resonated with me a lot and made me think.

This was a very enjoyable chick-lit adventure. I loved the story-line, the characters and the many moments of laugh out loud humour. This book has left me wanting more and I cannot wait to read about the further adventures of Jess , Tank, Hannah & Toby.
The book was quirky & funny but also dealt with real life issues such as complex relationships, marriages, divorces and friendship

Overall a five star read

This is absolutely perfect for those who - like me - are currently obsessed with the TV series Married at First Sight. Who knew that meeting your bride / groom at the altar would make for such compelling narrative? Add in an entrepreneurial Mum trying to do it all, a judgey M and S Mother and a couple of boisterous twins and you’ve got yourself an awesome read.
