Are you a person who likes to take personality tests? Are you looking for a fun way to learn more about yourself or to reinforce what you might already know or suspect? If yes, this book is for you.
Included are 25 tests. Some of those included are: Are You an Introvert or an Extrovert?; Are You Honest with Yourself?; What is Your Stress Type?; What Type of Rule Breaker Are You?; What is Your Role in Your Family? and more.
The author of this book notes that when she did the well-known Myers-Briggs test, it validated who she knew that she was. She found that to be helpful. These personality quizzes may do that or they may teach you something new about yourself.
The book begins with some background on personality including sections on Freud and Jung. Then, there are the quizzes. I enjoyed doing them and reading what my aggregate score for each meant.
This book is entertaining and may provide readers with some helpful insights. I recommend it for those who are fans of these tests.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this book. All opinions are my own.
I would like to thank NetGalley and the Publisher for sending me a copy.
I spend a significant part of my leisure time researching about different personality traits. So, undoubtedly I was thrilled that a book similar to my I spend a significant time of my leisure time researching about different personality traits. So, undoubtedly I was thrilled that a book similar to my needs was being published.
The book and the tests didn't fail me. In fact, I was surprised by the creativity behind each test.
There was only one common assesment(are you an introvert or an extrovert). The rest of assesments were inspired by famous tests, but with their own twist.
The tests were fairly easy to fill and calculate, and the whole book didn't take more than 3 hours.
Personally, I learned a lot and had a great time, and I will look out for similar books in the future.
This was such a fun book! My sister and I spent a night answering the test questions and learning a little more about ourselves. We had some a-ha moments which was great. I aloved how colorful the book was as well. It made us look closely at every page to see what was eing said to us.
‘The Book of Personality Tests’ by Haulwen Nicholas is full of interesting and useful personality tests: from the well-known ones such as tests to find out whether you are extrovert or introvert, to the test revealing what’s your spirit animal (apparently it’s a hare). The book has a lovely package, each test is accompanied by simple but fitting artwork, and each is easy to navigate.
Paradoxically it’s the ones I thought I knew answers to, I ended up having different results than expected, as for instance with the first test. Doing a similar one years ago in school, unsurprisingly I was labelled introvert. This time around, my results ended on ambivert and weren’t far from extroverted personality type. But I think Haulwen Nicholas makes a good job out of underlying that people change their behaviour and learn to fit into certain situations as they grew up.
I think that ‘The Book of Personality Tests’ is a useful resource for figuring out a few more things about your personality type if you haven’t done that previously as well as learning to understand those around you – why they behave the way they do and why some people react to other situation differently to you.
I’m definitely that person who does all the Facebook quizzes to find out “which Harry Potter character are you?” Or “pick a colour and we’ll tell you your personality” so I loved this book.
Each quiz was only 12 questions long making them nice and quick and each had a small paragraph explaining the psycho-science behind them.
Now some of the quizzes I knew my result just from the title “What is your relationship to money?” or "are you spontaneous or a planner?"...I'm terrible with money and I barely have a spontaneous bone in my body so those ones were a no brainer.
But then there the quizzes that really did give me some insight into myself. I enjoyed finding out what my core archetype was and I’ve done the "introvert or extrovert?" test lots of times and I nearly always get introvert. which agree with but also think there are times when I’m an extrovert. According to this book I'm an ambivert which I'd never heard of and means that I sit in between.
There were the super fun ones too. “What kind of astronaut are you?” and “what is your spirit animal?”. Mine was the owl by the way, because I’m wise and dependable. Though my partner would probably argue that it’s because I like to nap during the day and then I’m awake all night.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book, both testing it on myself and other people and to get through the boredom of COVID restrictions.
This was an awesome book full of different types of tests. I love how the author puts her own personality into it. The tests themselves are about twelve questions, which makes it a short and fun “game” and it has great explanations of each answer that can help one understand not only more about themselves, but others as well. She also gives you a bit of history about the actual test and who they were inspired by, as well is history on personality studies. Nice layout, very eye-pleasing, and great fun.
This was a great book to try.
I found the different personality tests were great fun to try and found out lots of snippets about myself.
Enjoyable and didn't take long to do each one either.
Haulwen Nicholas' "The Book of Personality Tests" is absolutely phenomenal! I love the layout and designs interlaced throughout the book. The tests are easy to understand and short, which is really helpful. I think it can be great to do with your partner and can be great discussion partners. I definitely recommend this book for those who want to learn about themselves and others!
What a fun book! I learned so much about myself doing the 25 included personality tests, including the well-known Myers-Briggs and the Enneagram, as well as new tests I’d not done before. I received detailed feedback on such areas as emotional intelligence, money management aptitude, leadership skills, and love language style. A great gift for anyone into self-growth — or quiz-taking just for the fun of it!

25 Easy to Score Tests that Reveal the Real You
by Haulwen Nicholas

Genre: Health, Mind & Body | Self-Help

This was such a great collection of personality tests. They seemed well thought out and there was introductory information about the tests, as well as easy to understand results. There was also a great reference section at the end the assist in further study.
I found most of the tests to be on point to what I know about myself. Some of them, like "What Kind of Astronaut Are you?" seemed silly at first, but the explanation behind it provided some depth and insight. (I'm a Spaceflight Participant, which was completely on point, my days of wanting to lead a mission are behind me.)
Like with any personality test, the answered can be influenced by preconception, mood, level of distraction, and place in life. I enjoyed the test "What is Your Relationship to Money?" because I was able to see my personal growth in this area of my life. I reached a point in my life where I am a Savvy Saver/Spender which feels pretty comfortable and secure the stress living as Hey Big Spender caused.
I would definitely recommend this book. It takes an easy to read and understand approach to personality tests without judgement helps you look at different aspects of your life from a different angle.
I'm so grateful to Haulwen Nicholas, Wellfleet Press, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
I've been interested in personality tests since my 10th grade teacher introduced the Meyers Briggs test. Now as a teacher myself, I've been looking for interesting content to add to my classroom library. The Book of Personality Tests is so interesting, I'm sure my students will love it! My personal favorites were "Are You Honest with Yourself?" and "What is Your Stress Type?". If you're a fan of other personality tests or even horoscopes, I'm sure you will love this book! There are a total of 25 tests to take, and well worth the money.
As someone who when to school for Psychology, this book definitely peaked my interest. I really enjoyed going through each test and did find myself surprised at a few of the outcomes. From "what kind of astronaut are you?" to "are you a psychopath?" and everything in between, there is certainly something for everyone! I think this would be a fun book to take on a road trip with friends/family!
Side note: I am not a psychopath but a peacekeeping, sky blue, ambivert who would most likely be a science officer if I were an astronaut.
A fun little book of personality tests of all kinds. Simply laid out without overcomplicating things. Nice beginner book for anyone interested in learning more about themselves or personalities.
I LOVED this book. It's almost more a workbook than a book. All the personality quizzes were so fun and gave me more insight into myself. I'm buying a copy of this book to have at work for all my co-workers and I to discuss!
Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group - Wellfleet Press for a copy to honestly review!
Brilliantly fun book, I spent an evening with my friend going through a lot of the tests, some made us laugh, some were scary how spot on they were. It’s well presented, fun and colourful, a great fun book, enjoyable tests and not complex. Quick and fun
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Wellfleet Press for sending me a copy of this book!
"The Book of Personality Tests" by Haulwen Nicholas is a comprehensive and essential guide to all things personality-test related! I'll start off by saying that I am a huge personality test fanatic and was struggling to find new tests to do (after doing The Myers Briggs test, The Enneagram test, career quizzes, random BuzzFeed quizzes here and there, and then making everyone in my life do those same tests to analyze their findings) I was incredibly excited to get a copy of this book, so if you've found yourself in a similar predicament before, then I highly recommend this!
The book begins with a little bit of backstory on personality fundamentals, ranging from a brief history on Sigmund Freud to Carl Jung. I absolutely adore how each personality test starts off with a little bit of a backstory, and references/credits other popular tests that inspired these quizzes such as The Myers Briggs and The Enneagram tests. It gives us personality nerds more tests to research about, and it allows us to learn a bit about its backstory. This is especially helpful if you're itching to do a longer version of the quizzes, since they are quite short (which can be a good thing, since it makes it convenient to do whenever)
The quizzes themselves are quite short and only takes a few minutes to complete. It's quite easy to calculate your score and get your results once you've answered the questions and this makes it a great book to use with your friends! I personally love how you have to manually calculate your results using a legend and symbol system afterwards, as this eliminates any bias while taking it so you don't know which option leads to which result.
All in all, "The Book of Personality Tests" is the perfect read for you if you're a personality test junkie or want to learn more about who you are and discover aspects of yourself that you may not have even been aware of before. It's a must-read if you want to learn more about the people around you and why people may act in the ways that they do.
Perfect fun tests to explore personality and character. I had a good time doing these tests and finding out more about myself and those around me. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.
This book was received as an ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Wellfleet Press in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
Hearing of this book and the various personality tests one can take was really interesting to read. Having taken the Meyer-Briggs test for work and for my premarital counseling, i was familiar with the process and how crucial it was for partners/supervisors to understand your work habits and determining whether or not you'll fit in with the company or if the marriage will work. This book is a good companion to have in learning about the tests before you take them if and when you have to. Even if you don;t have to, it's good to know your personality type so you can discover new things about yourself.
We will consider adding this title to our Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
What a fun book!
Full of personality tests for everyone who is eager to know more about themselves. And without a doubt you will learn quite a lot. The book is also full of informations about all the tests, their history and influence on people.
Must have!
It's a fun book that tells you what your personality is depending on your choices for each question. You pick what looks more like you and the book will give you a personality answer based on that. There are 25 tests and to find out the answer is a bit annoying because it's not just check how many "a" or "c" you have marked but each one has a different symbol for each question. I mean, if you pick C on question 1 it could be a square and if you picked C again on question 2 it could be a star so you will take a few extra minutes trying to figure this out before knowing your personality. It was a fun book to play with when I didn't have anything else to do. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
I had great fun with this title. I learned things about myself as well as reinforced things I already knew. It's a great starting place for someone interested in personality tests. They were short and not overwhelming, but still reliable as a means of gauging honest responses. The information about specific tests was interesting and I know it will be a hit with readers of all ages.
This book was really fun! It had so many different tests that I had never done before and all the explanations and little snippets of text were very interesting. Not all of the tests applied to me, but I was able to do most of them and I really enjoyed them. I feel like this would be a fun book to bring out during family vacations or chill get togethers with friends. It's a great book.
If you're a bit obsessed with tests and ways to understand more about yourself, you will enjoy this book thoroughly. It has 25 different tests (each are pretty much one to two pages long) and each test is based on a different concept so by the end of the book, you've found out quite a lot about yourself and have learned about 25 new areas to research.
While I knew about some of these (MBTI, Enneagram, etc.) there were some that I had never heard of (Sparktest) and some that I knew about but not in detail (Jungian archetypes.) At the end of the book, the author lists a lot of resources where you can spend many more Sunday afternoons digging into all sorts of personality types and research and have endless fun while discovering things about yourself.
The design and presentation of this book is also wonderful and makes it a jot to read.
With gratitude to netgalley and Wellfleet Press for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book!!!
This is a book with different personality quizzes to take. Each quiz comes with a little description at the beginning and they are all easy to understand and follow. If you want to learn more about yourself, this is a fun way to spend your time.
***Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
I found this Personality Book highly enjoyable! Am I a Psychopath? Why yes, yes I am, LOL.
I had such a good time with this one! I'd known some of the tests, and taken them previously, but it had been years so it was nice to revisit them. I can definitely say I know myself better now that I'm done going through this book. It's the perfect idea for a lazy day alone and a different way to have fun with friends and family! I'll definitely get a physical copy.
What a fun book of quizzes! If you have always enjoyed doing those short personality quizzes in magazines, this is the book for you. While none of these are thorough personality tests, they give you just enough of a glimpse to peak your curiosity. I will admit, there are a few that approach or cross into the silly category, but for the most part, this is a good starter for personality typing systems. This would be a fun book to have for a Girls' Night gathering.
I received an advanced reader copy via NetGalley.
*thank you to Netgalley, Haulwen Nicholas and Quarto Publishing Group – Wellfleet Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
4 stars.
I gotta admit, I have a vulnerability to these kinds of things. I love wasting so much time doing these little tests so I can honestly say that I really enjoyed this book. The tests were all interesting and it was a really good collection of different ones. Some I'd known of but there were also a few I had not done before.
Then only thing I didn't quite like was the use of symbols as the score system for some of them. But that's probably just me. I prefered the number system. Either way, this was great fun and I definitely recommend.
I've always been a fan of taking quizzes (all the way back to my old teen magazine days!), so this book was immediately appealing to me. I'm also really interested in the enneagram and Myers-Briggs tests (which are also included in this book). The structure of this book was really interesting - it includes a little bit of the history of each test at the beginning of each chapter and then each test consists of a 12-question quiz that comes with a score. Once you have your score, there's a little write-up about each result so you can find out a little bit more about yourself. The most unique part is that the quizzes are not actually the test you would take for the enneagram, Myers-Briggs, etc. (since these are a lot longer to complete). This means that the quizzes are more fun and lighthearted than how clinical those actual tests can feel.
The subjects of the quizzes range from anything from "Are You a Narcissist?" to "What Workout Type Are You?" and everything in between. For the most part, I found my results to be quite accurate (especially quizzes like "What's Your Love Language?" and "What Type of Rule Breaker Are You?"). However, there were a couple of quizzes that felt wildly inaccurate - not sure if that was user error or not but it felt a tad frustrating.
Overall, anyone who wants to increase their self-awareness should check out this book and participate in the quizzes. Even if you don't discover any brand new truths about yourself, it's a fun way to pass the time anyway.
If you haven't been soul-searching this year, I don't know what you've been up to! Most of us have had more than enough time to figure our shit out and yet, we'll all still trying to get through the day.
Between Enneagrams and Myers-Briggs, you're sure to learn more than you ever wanted to know about yourself.
With this book, it's an all in one figure-yourself-out kind of a book!
This is a really fun book! It provides some insight into personality types and characteristics which makes it even more interesting!
I am someone who loves doing personality tests and quizzes, from serious ones to silly ‘what kind of bread are you’ tests so as soon as I saw this book I knew it would be right up my street!
I loved the range of different tests included, it had everything from finding out your spirit animal to learning what your core archetype is. I completed every test in the book, then tested family and friends too. My results didn’t really surprise me but they did confirm all the things I thought I knew about myself.
It was well set out, easy to follow and full of great information. I loved the bright colours and designs too.
So if personality tests are your thing or you’d like to find out more about yourself, how you think, how you act/react and a whole host of different things, I would highly recommend!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review
As someone who loves all sorts of personality tests, I found this book amazing and insightful. I recommend it for any educator or trainer who I looking to provide insight for team members or prompts for reflection, discussion or team building!
The Book of Personality Tests by Haulwen Nicholas is a useful tool that is also quite fun!
I have always liked personality tests and quizzes, so this book was right up my alleyway. I really enjoyed the unique set of tests presented. There's all sorts of different ones: stress, spirit animal, self aware, psychopath, etc. I think it's a great collection that can provide some insights but also be done just for fun.
Four out of five stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
