Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Another fabulous book.
When her husband passed away, Isabel with her children, decide to move to the house she’s inherited, to begin to start their lives again.
But, on arrival they find that the house, and needs a lot of work, something they weren’t prepared for.
Matt, who thought the house would be left to him, then offers to help Isabel to renovate it. But Isabel is unaware of his wish to own the house,
I found that the story kept me interested.
I love the author's books and i'm so glad to be able to go back and read some of her older stories.
The night music is about a beautiful artist, a single mother that life has given her a hard challenge lately in every possible way and she needs to find a solution to be back on track and secure a normal life for her son.
It's beautiful written, with many angsty moments and heartbreaking ones, but also fulfilling for what passion and love means.Following your dreams in what your passionate about can bring more happiness when less expected.
A charming story
Night Music is my second Jojo Meyes read, first being Me Before You. I enjoy Jojo Meyes books as they have lot of drama, emotion and the story has potential to be made into a movie!
Night Music story revolves around an old Spanish house that been been inherited by Isabel Delaney. Owner of the Spanish house Mr. Pottisworth is her distant uncle and he left the house to London based niece Isabel. The inheritance comes aptly and well timed as Isabel has lost her husband recently and has enormous debt to pay. She uproots her family to go, live in countryside.
But little did she know that the neighbors Matt McCarthy & his wife Laura has been looking after her old uncle Mr. P for past nine years in the hope of inheriting the house. Once she is there, she faces lots of challenges from the neighbors as well as she and her children have to make lifestyle adjustment from City style to country style.
The characters are well written and story flows swiftly. This was a 5 star read for me as Jojo writing style has evolved and matured a lot since writing this book. If you haven’t read this book yet, go get a copy of this new edition to find out what happens with Isabel. Does she give up the inherited house and move back to London or fight through the adversaries, and find true love to spend her life with?
Thank you #netgalley, #hodder paperbacks and #jojomeyes for a free copy of e-ARC in exchange of my honest review.
I love all the books I have read by Jojo Moyes so far and was not disappointed when I got to read this re-edition of this 2008 book.
This is set in London and quite a contemporary piece. Isabel's life is turned upside down when her husband unexpectedly dies and she has to adjust her life.
This story has love, loss and secrets and I really enjoyed reading it.
Thanks for letting me read this, will post on Goodreads and my blog
I love JoJo Moyes. Although this is one of her historic releases, it’s just as good as her recent offerings.
The plot and characters drew me in quickly and although I read this book a few weeks ago, it’s still fresh in my head. It’s heartwarming and engaging.
I’d definitely recommend this one!
My thanks to Jojo Moyes, Hodder & Stoughton and Netgalley for the ARC of NIGHT MUSIC.
There's so much in this novel about the human condition and the characterization is second to none. Isobel came across as a Bohemian type whose interest in her passion, her violin, led her to miss chunks of her children's lives when they were small. The death of her husband meant she had to take up the reigns and put them first, and when they are forced to sell their much loved home in Maida Vale and move to an old house Isabel is left by a distance relative she must contend with the fall-out, in more ways than one. This story chimed with me as we are currently renovating an old cottage and I've had nightmares about all sorts of things happening, so some parts of this story had me on the edge of my seat. I loved it.
Another really good book by jojo moyes. I didn’t realise this was a rerelease and that I’d actually read it before but I loved rereading it for the second time.
I really enjoyed this book. I’ve never read another by this author before.
This is really well written and keeps you hooked throughout; with the many family secrets and the pleading from the reader that the protagonist finds her way.
Thanks for letting me read this
She has been conned into looking after an elderly neighbour with the promise of the house after he dies. He has been playing her for the fool. Her cheating husband insisted she carried on so they could get the house, do it up and sell it. But they didn't end up getting it. When her husband dies suddenly she's left to pick up the pieces.
I really enjoyed this book, it was well written and a nice escape. heart-warming, sad and a dash of humour, the perfect mix. Highly recommended
This is just a delightful book. The characters were interesting and just lovely. The plot was very sweet and equally gripping. I love Moyes and in her true style this book did not disappoint at all.
I was really looking forward to reading another Jojo Moyes books and this didn’t disappoint. I loved the setting, the characters and the interplay between them. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed the beautiful and lyrical writing of Jojo Moyes in this uplifting story of loss and starting over. An engrossing read. From the first page I couldn't stop reading it!
I love JoJo Moyes writing and this book was no different. It took a while for me to get swept along by the story and I did wonder for a while, where the story was going, but as the characters grew on me, I found myself quickly turning the pages to discover what happens to the family and their friends.
In the end, I found the book to be a thumping good read - it read like a movie with such beautiful descriptions that I felt I could see the house, the landscape and the characters so clearly. And a truly satisfying ending. I loved it.
I received this book from Netgalley yesterday, has it been rereleased, because from what I gather it was published in 2008 & I thought it would have been archived prior to this?
Once I started this it sucked me straight in & I didn't stop until I'd finished (0445). This was all the things you expect from a Jojo Moyes novel & more, love, lies, secrets & betrayal. Why is it everyone compares EVERY book to Me before you?
I love JoJo’s books. They always sum up real life in its rawest form. This book didn’t disappoint-from the heart break of the main character losing her husband to the journey she goes on to rebuild her life, every moment is beautifully crafted in this book. I loved the main character- she was broken, but never gave up. Her spirit was admirable. Very few writers can do what Jojo does- I couldn’t put it down.
