A great story about Prince - told simply, but in a fun way and with beautiful illustrations.
Great book :)
Another wonderful addition to this collection. It is gorgeously illustrated and very vibrant. This is the perfect bedtime read for children which shows them dreams can come true without being too preachy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely love this series, and this one was no exception. So lovely and informative about Prince's music life and empowering for young children.
I really enjoy the Little People, Big Dreams series, and this was no exception - though it did feel a little less full than some of the others. I found the writing this time to be quite unrevealing - though I did value the more in-depth biography section at the end. That said, I again loved the illustration for this - particularly the copious use of purple! (As is only appropriate given the subject matter). The drawings were really vibrant and full of life.
I absolutely adore the Little People, Big Dreams series and this book, focusing on Prince, did not disappoint. Filled with glorious illustrations, these texts are a fabulous springboard for classroom discussion. I love how they cover such a broad range of famous faces, from scientists to musicians.
The story of Prince gives a brief overview of the life of this famous musician. I love how vibrant the illustrations are, really accentuating the colourful nature of this incredible musician. His clear passion for music and his ability to push boundaries are encapsulated perfectly within these pages. The story is accessible for all and reminds us of the importance of pursuing our passions and standing up for what we believe in.
I will be using this book as part of my Person of the Week work in a Year 5 classroom and think it would be a welcome addition to any school bookshelf. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
Another great addition to the Little People, BIG DREAMS collection.
This is a concise biography of Prince, detailing his rise to stardom and the effect he had on the music industry.
These biographies are age appropriate; inspiring and interesting, but not overwhelming. They have bright, beautiful illustrations, striking covers, and look great on a shelf together.
Thank you to Quatro Publishing Group and #NetGalley for an advanced copy.
The illustrations in this addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series are my favourite so far and that is high praise!!! The story clearly shows how much of a trailblazer and icon Prince was and how he is illustrated, in particular, is fantastic! The colours used are spectacular - any child would be mesmerised by them and be enthralled by the story of a small boy growing up with amazing talent. A great addition to any child’s bookshelf!
The Prince is another installment in the series of little picture books about great people. As with the other ones, it boils an eventful and extraordinary life down to a few important events that allow the young reader to get a good grasp of who the hero of the story was and what his life might teach others.
The art style perfectly fits the mood of the book and makes the book really nice just to look at, which is a vital part of children's picture books.
Lovely little child friendly illustrated biography of Prince's life.
The illustrations were brilliant - vibrant and really catching of Prince's personality.
There are a few topics covered that can lead to bigger conversations for children and their understanding of the world. A story that can inspire others no matter who they are.
I loved this book about Prince the musician and how he grew to be a musical star. The illustrations in the book are wonderful. The book has lots of useful information about Prince and life, which is easy to read and which makes it suitable for children, although adults will love it too!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am becoming a huge fan of this series of books and this one is no exception. To be honest, I didn't know a lot about Prince but the book gives a lovely overview of his life and how he got into music. The illustrations are wonderful and it is really accessible.
With this series I really like the mini bio at the end to give more information.
A great addition to the series.
The images are the hero of this book - they are so lovely. They embody the larger than life character of Prince perfectly. I think I'm just that bit too young to really understand the change that Prince brought to the world and how he became such a symbol of living on your own terms.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another great addition to the little people, big dreams collection.
Again a fast paced colourful story this time telling Prince’s rise to stardom. The purple cover just draws you in, it’s a colour you associate with Prince due to his hit Purple Rain.
I love these books and look forward to seeing who will next be in the collection.
Thank you Netgalley for this arc in return for my honest review.
These sets of books are amazing and my students love reading them. They are versatile and educational.
Being a huge Prince fan I had to read this and obviously Prince was a unusual celebrity in that he didn’t conform to social norms and expectations. So I think it’s great that they’ve encapsulated his story and presented a musical legend to the next generation so wonderfully.
I will be buying these for our school library!
This is the most gorgeous little book. I have seen the Little People Big Dreams series in book shops and knew I’d want to buy them when I have children. I loved the Prince one. I will definitely be picking up others and would consider them as gifts for others who have little ones.
What a lovely little book! As a big Prince fan, it was lovely to see his life explained in this way to reach a new generation and show his journey into music
Full of wonderfully colourful illustrations, it's a great look at the man behind the symbol! From his childhood to his introduction to music and how he made it big. I'd never seen this series of books before but I'm now interested to read more as I think they're such a great way of learning about important names in a variety of fields.
It's full of positive messages about working hard for your dreams and will be inspiring for littlies all over the world!!
Prince by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is another release in the Little People, Big Dreams series, which I have reviewed frequently on here. I just love these little books. They are always packed with facts about the person who they are writing about and full of colourful illustrations throughout.

Funny little book with great illustrations. Great series. Perfect for children and adults - reading time can be so much fun, for both.
Another wonderful offering in the Little People Big Dreams series. As music co-ordinator in a primary school I'm always on the hunt for child-friendly books to add to the library that will engage children in music. The bright pictures and age appropriate vocabulary will grab the attention of young readers and hopefully leave them keen to learn more about Prince through the further reading suggested at the end of the book.
I received an eARC of this book from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this wonderful picture book about the life of Prince! It’s very colourful artwork made this a joy to read and I learnt so much about him. I didn’t realise how talented he was. Not only did he produce his first album, but he played all the instruments as well as singing! How amazing is that?! This book made me really appreciate what a fantastic artist he really was and how important it is that this book is available for young children to discover his work. Highly recommended!
