I loved Somewhere Close to Happy and Dear Emmie Blue, so I was very excited to be approved for Eight Perfect Hours.

Eight Perfect Hours follows Noelle as she meets Sam when they're trapped together in a blustery snowstorm. As their story unravels, their chance meeting takes on a whole new meaning.

Eight Perfect Hours is a beautiful, poignant tale of love that has always been written in the stars.

I defy anyone not to fall in love with Noelle and Sam.

Thank you to Netgalley and to Orion for the chance to read and review.

Lia Louis does it again! I absolutely devoured this story of loss and new love. Beginning in a gridlock, we meet Noelle and her bagful of anxiety. She's likeable, realistic and so clearly sad and still grieving a loss. I loved how she opened up throughout the course of the story, as she begins to chase what she wants and needs. It's so interesting to see the family dynamics through Noelle's eyes, and also have the opinions of those closest to her.

As always, Lia's sparkling wit shines through in the characters banter, I snort laughed when Clay meets Noelle. And I did not expect the twist at the end! Such a well put together and perfectly paced story. If you loved Dear Emma Blue, you will not be disappointed.

I was absolutely delighted to get a copy of this and couldn’t wait to devour it in one glorious sitting (with lots of cups of tea and biscuits - rock and roll!) This gorgeous romance didn’t disappoint one bit, I was smitten from the outset and smiled the entire time. The red threads of romance are woven so beautifully that when everything becomes clear towards the end of the story, you want to cheer! If you ever get stuck on a snowy motorway, don’t despair, this may be destiny stepping in. My only criticism is that the ending felt quite abrupt (and I only selfishly wanted more) Five stars!

Well this was a few perfect hours of reading. A story that was packed with all the romantic clichés and weaved in so perfectly.
Not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects such as mental health, grief, bereavement and panic. Makes Sam and Noelle more rounded characters and you feel more invested.
This really tugs at the heart strings and pulls you in. Adorable, delightful, gives you that warm fuzzy feeling,

Down-to-earth relatable heroine

Eight Perfect Hours landed on my kindle from netgalley at 6pm and I opened at at 6:01pm, all other bookish plans cancelled (best decision ever). How long did it take me to get into it? One. Hot. Second.

Now that I’ve got the gushing over, here are some non-spoilery thoughts to encourage in new and those who are already Lia Louis fans. Noelle Butterby was one of the most relatable heroines I’ve ever read. Noelle would call herself boring and insignificant but this story was anything but. It started with a snowed up stationery motorway and a circumstantial meeting with Sam. Then they kept meeting one another. Now I want to say this is not some prolonged missed opportunities trope (which I do not gel with) it was something else.

"Every time I’m near him, I want to stop the hands of all the world’s clocks. I never want to leave."

The characters in this book navigagted grief, ex-es, commitments and dependents. There were characters who annoyed the heck out of me (side entrance: Ed the Ped) and others that brought light and hope. All of this had me totally stuck to the page, I devoured this book, inhaled it really and I have no regrets.

Lia Louis keeps her streak for creating fantastic stories and characters but my actions on picking it up immediately, showed that I never doubted it for a moment. Do yourself a favour and grab a copy.
