Description
Lee is an angel.
Stephanie leads a quiet life in small-town Indiana. It is best to keep a low profile. The town is dangerous. Everyone knows there is human trafficking around. The police can't seem to do anything about it.
Stephanie lives with her mom and her younger, autistic sister Amma. She takes her sister Amma to Frumpy's, a nearby convenience store, to get Amma her favorite drink. Finding Frumpy's has run out of drinks, Amma has a meltdown in the middle of the store. As she tries to calm her down, the new manager of Frumpy's appears. He's handsome, mysterious, and talks to Amma as though he could read her mind. After Amma is calmed, the mysterious stranger introduces himself as Lee. The way he worked with Amma, Stephanie thinks Lee must be some kind of angel.
The Divine, the force that guides Lee as to what he is to do in the world, brought Lee here to stop human trafficking. He didn't expect to meet anyone like Stephanie. Relationships with mortals aren't new to Lee. Entanglements just get in the way of the mission. But there is something about Stephanie that draws him. Could the divine want him and Stephanie together? How can he serve the divine while exposing Stephanie to the dangers of the Traffickers?
Advance Praise
This was such a great short read. The characters were written so you could relate to them as well as their lives. The circumstances that brought Stephanie into Lee's path were ordinary and still so powerful. Can not wait to read the next book.-Amazon Reviewer

Stephanie stops in to the local gas station to treat her sister for a good week. There she meets Lee, an angel disguised a human. He is trying to stop a trafficking ring that uses the gas station as a meet up. Stephanie is more than interested in him. Lee, however doesn’t date.
Opinion
This novella, while short, is captivating. It is the start of a promising series. Reading this book will leave you wanting more so have book two on hand for when you finish.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.
The beginning of a story that is quite promising - hard to rate since it was only 41 pages and not much happened, but the characters and premise have promise.

The writing in this book was phenomenal. I would never believe this was the author's debut novel. The writing style has such a perfect flow with a great combination of dialogue and internal monologues. I also loved the way the plot unfolded, Beautifully written with good characters and dialogue. It's a very detailed book with interwoven characters with good character development. The driving force behind this though is the story, it moves effortlessly and is so engaging
