It is interesting to realize that when your career depends upon the impersonation of someone else, that you can lose whom you are and what you want. Sally hero worshipped Epiphanie and thought she had it all but once she stepped in her shoes, soon realized how lonely her life actually was. Those who surrounded her were on her payroll, she was distant from her children, her image was everything and she had refused to admit her true love for Dirnty. By stepping into Sally's shoes, she quickly realized how normal life could be as evidenced by the relationship between Paul and Sally. I was so glad that at the end, Sally was able to pursue her love of singing and songwriting as Sally.

I loved this look at the inside of stardom in this rock star wanna be fantasy. Beth Miller writes characters that are like people you know, so you can really feel sympathy for their situations, even while laughing out loud at their predicaments. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.

The biggest star in the world offers large sums of money to Sally, a tribute artist who has been impersonating her on stage for many years. All Sally has to do is swap places with her for two weeks.

The story is told with wit and compassion. The novel is a feel-good romp with well-developed characters and plenty of twists and turns.

Starstruck is a perfect 'lose yourself in its pages' holiday read.

Told from the point of view of an impersonator - Sally Marshall who impersonates Epiphanie (who is bigger than Beyonce.) Sally arrives home one day and finds the superstar in her kitchen with an offer that no one could turn down - swap places with each other. The story takes place over a few weeks and we find the life swap continuing for longer than Sally wishes.

It's fun, well written and at times it makes you laugh out loud.

For many years Sally has worshipped Epiphanie. A world class superstar, Epiphanie's life is a million miles away from Sally's life in England entertaining small crowds as a Epiphanie tribute act. One evening Sally comes home to find the worldwide celebrity in her kitchen and offering a life-changing sum of money to swap places for a short period of time. Ephiphanie can do the local pub gigs while Sally gets to perform at Madison Square Gardens. The whole concept of this novel is brilliantly ridiculous and makes for such a fun book. A delightfully light read and perfect escapism.

Sally Marshall is one in a hundred, Epiphanie is one of a kind.

Sally is just an ordinary woman, but Epiphanie is extraordinary.

Sally is a tribute artist, one of many - but Epiphane is the real thing.

But Sallys normality is shattered when Epiphanie magically appears at her kitchen table and asks her to trade places for a few weeks - just like in the movies. Overnight, Sally has become a global star and Epiphanie is playing in small pubs and drinking with the locals. Sally has spent so long pretending to be someone else and now she has the chance to really BE her will it be everthing she hoped? Or will she find they might not be that different after all...

I'm a sucker for a classic life-swap, but they are definitely starting to feel stale and overdone so I was a little dubious going into this - but Beth Miller has taken something standard and made it SPARKLE. She managed to take all the typical tropes of a genre and turn into something gloriously binge-worthy.

Sally was a hilarious narrator; scatter-brained and utterly bonkers at times but so easy to love almost instantly. Witty, silly, and full of compassion - she was a pleasure to read about. The whole cast of characters were stunning - from Sallys husband and band mate back home to Epiphanies eccentric entourage.

Super easy to read and addictively sassy, this was definitely more that it looks like on the very pretty cover - talking about real human connection, about hope, about family and about real self-reflection. Just like people, this isn't one you should judge by the cover.

I read this entire book in one sitting, and anyone looking for a laugh-out-loud adventure full of heart, this is for you.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I enjoyed this book. It was a light hearted rom com and life swap story. Sally is a tribute artist for Epiphanie who is the biggest pop star around. When Epiphanie wants a break she swaps with Sally who gets a chance to perform to huge stadiums but discovers life isn't always as glamorous as it seems. The book was fast paced and easy to read and I enjoyed it as a great but of escapism. Would definitely read more by this author. Thanks to netgally for an early copy.

Super cute read! This book started out as a fun "switching places" story- super star Epiphanie temporarily trades lives with a tribute singer, "Me-piphanie" aka Sally Marshall, so that she can take a break from the overwhelming fame. In the second half of the book complications occur, of course, bringing some more depth to the storyline. The author can be forgiven for tying things up a little too perfectly. After all, everyone loves a happy ending, and in this book, literally everyone *gets* a happy ending!

I got to read this book on a rainy vacation day, and it hit the spot! My thanks to the author, publisher, and #NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC. #Starstruck

I love the unique premise of this book, and how it made me laugh out loud many many times! The author’s writing style drew me right in and I couldn’t stop reading because I had to see the consequences of this big switch and was satisfied at the end. I will definitely be reading more from this author!

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is an easy book to read with some laugh out loud moments. I've read a couple of the authors books before and enjoyed them, but I thought for a while about requesting this book as i didn't think it would be for me, but I'm glad I requested it. Sally is a bit absent-minded but a nice character. But the swap isn't plain sailing, it's not long before the problems start. The story is told from Sally's point of view. This is a well written quirky read.

I would like to thank #NetGalley, #DuckworthBiiks and the author #BethMiller for my ARC of #Starstruck in exchange for an honest review.

Ever wanted to be famous? Read this book to find out what it is really like.
Needing to escape, the most famous female on the planet finds a tribute act performer to take her place for two weeks. It takes less than the two weeks for the novelty to wear off.
Follow both lives as they adjust to each others reality.
Loved the book. Never wanted to be famous and this confirms it. Beautiful real characters that make you feel for them, even when you know their reality is only for a certain minimal percentage of the population.

Sally makes a small living from being a tribute act to Epiphanie - the world's most successful singer.
Epiphanie wants a rest, so proposes a 2 week life swap with Sally.
I really enjoyed reading this book and read it in one day. The story was light hearted but with a lot of heart.

This was an absolute hoot, absolutely delicious! You are a tribute act for the biggest star in the world asked to swap with her for more money than you ever dreamed you could have. Off you go to live in absolute luxury whilst you poor husband has to explain that the words "Please" and "Thank you" are important. A great read.

Hilariously clever and funny, this book was definitely a good one! Romcoms are always a hit or miss, and this one is up there. With a unique plot, endearing characters, and a lovely ending, I enjoyed every minute of it!

Oh Beth Miller you make me love you more with every book, this story was just plain fun. Even though there were some lessons learned it was done with love and lots of laughs. Who doesn't imagine being rich and famous at least sometimes. What would you do if a mega star wanted to switch lives with you? What would you do if you were given megabucks! That's exactly what tribute singer Sally is asked by superstar Epiphanie. I was happy to see Sally come into her own as a songwriter and to put herself first finally. This was just the feel good book I needed between a bunch of depressing literary novels and creepy thrillers. Thank you Beth Miller for making me smile, again.

I absolutely loved Beth Miller's new novel 'Starstruck'. The premise is a lot of fun and is pulled off with many genuinely laugh out loud moments. Epiphanie is a huge star who approaches Sally Marshall, otherwise known as Me-piphanie, a top-quality Epiphanie tribute act (not impersonator!), with a strange offer. If they switch lives for two weeks, Sally will get a huge amount of money and the chance to play America's biggest stadiums as Epiphanie - it sounds like a dream come true!

I thought the pacey plotting of this made the story addictive. Sally and Epiphanie are both flawed individuals but the swap helps them to learn valuable lessons about themselves through the lens of 'how the other half live'. Sally's husband, Paul, has his slimeball moments, but I ultimately found his relationship with Sally to be heartwarming and rewarding. There are many side characters who shine here too, not least Indigo, Epiphanie's assistant's assistant, and tea and Lidl addicted bodyguard Abraham.

If you want to escape into a funny and uplifting read, I would definitely recommend 'Starstruck'. A joyous 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher who provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I hate fame. Seriously, going viral is one of my deepest fears. I never want to be famous in any way, shape or form. And as a celebrity impersonator, Sally kinda manages to do that, while imitating Epiphanie, the biggest pop star in the world. At first, this seems like a prince and the pauper typical twist, where in "replacing" Epiphanie for a few weeks Sally learns about the good and bad of fame and learns to appreciate her regular life etc etc. But the thing that sets this story apart is kindness. As we follow Sally in Epiphanie's life, and her husband Paul trying to accommodate the VERY-used-to-a-different-lifestyle Epiphanie, what could be a fairly predictable tale becomes humanized by Sally and Paul just being nice to the people around them. Epiphanie's professional and personal family are deeply changed by and grow to adore Paul and Sally, and the relationships all the characters develop with each other kept me going through the story until they got to happiness.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Duckworth Books - Farrago for providing me with a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sally has been a tribute act for famous singer Epiphanie since forever, so imagine her shock when she comes home from a gig to find her idol (and inspiration) sitting in the kitchen! Epiphanie needs a break and proposes a life swap but will they be able to carry it off?

The book basically got straight down to action. There’s a little back tracking - it often reads like your mate is telling you a story over a couple of pints - but it all works in well to give you some back story and motivation whilst getting to the point of the book quickly. I found the slang a little hard to get through in the beginning. It has a very “jolly hockey sticks” English feel to it and I am not a fan of the word “chuffing”. My personal foible aside, it was an enjoyable and not entirely predictable book. The basic plot went exactly how I thought it would but it took some unexpected and entertaining routes to get there.

Thank you NetGalley, Beth Miller and Duckworth Books for the copy of Starstruck. This is my personal review.
What a fun book this was to read. Sally is an ordinary woman who lives in the suburbs. For her fun she performs as a tribute act for a pop star- Epiphanie. Then one day Sally is approached by Epiphanie to trade places with her for a couple weeks. Sally goes from suburban life to megastar life.
What a ride this book was to read. I sailed thru the pages and had a great time reading it. It was just what I needed was a book that made me laugh out loud!
If you are wanting a great escape this is exactly the book you will want to read. You will be so glad you did – I know I was glad I got to read it.

What I especially appreciated was that it was light, entertaining reading. I didn’t have to think too much. I didn’t have to figure anything out. I could just enjoy this book. And I did.

Sally Marshall is an average woman who performs in an Epiphanie tribute band - that is, until the real Epiphanie shows up at her house asking to trade places for two weeks. Sally will be performing large venues like Madison Square Garden, while Epiphanie will stand in Sally's tribute band, both pretending to be each other. Can they keep up the charade? And when time is up, what life will each of them choose?

I picked up this book because it sounded fun, and it absolutely is. The chapters flowed quickly, and the characters were lots of fun to follow along. There ended up being a huge cast, but they were easily distinguishable. A fun read if you're looking for something a bit lighter!

This was such a fun read! The premise of this book is what piqued my interest in the first place and it did not disappoint.

Sally Marshall is an impersonation performer of a star (Epiphanie) who is even bigger than Beyonce. One day she is starstruck by Epiphanie standing in her kitchen, proposing an offer to good to refuse: to trade places with a megastar and make her All-star dreams a reality. This book is well written and gives the reader a deeper understanding of the world behind the scenes of a Popstar and shows that everything isn't always as it seems when you possess all that you could ever dream of. This novel is highly entertaining, funny and a complete breeze to read through, it's a book that you can get lost in and just enjoy the essence of reading without having to figure anything out. If you're looking for a light-hearted and enjoyable beach or travel read, Starstruck is for you!

I wasn’t sure about this book when I requested it, but it was a lot of fun! The characters were really interesting, especially the people that surround Epiphanie. Sally was a fantastic character who threw herself playing a role without losing herself in the process. The descriptions of the tour were fascinating, imagine singing in front of 80K fans!

This book had a very fun plot! I liked how Sally got a glimpse of Epiphanie's glamorous lifestyle. It was fun, while also being realistic. It showed some of the downsides to being in the spotlight. This book was funny, quirky and well written. The side characters were lots of fun to follow and they definitely added to the story. Toward the end of the book, I felt the story dragged a little bit, however, I did enjoy the ending. Everything was resolved and there were no loose ends.

Overall, this was fun, quick and easy read with some life lessons as well.
