Description

Living Lunarly is the nature-inspired self-care book powered by the cycles of the moon.

As you follow the lunar cycle, you'll set monthly intentions, explore plant care, crystals, and meditation, and find new emotional strength in aligning with nature.

Never has the idea of mindfully checking in with yourself and creating a "whole body" health—health that is more than simply the absence of illness—been so appealing. This book reveals how introspection, ritual, and love can help you lead a more spiritually fulfilling life.

You will learn how to use the phases of the moon to guide you in your intention-setting practice. As the moon waxes and wanes, use it to set a path of persistent self-reflection. Suggested practices and exercises for 12 moons across the year echo the seasonal properties of each moon. For each of the 12 moons, you'll find a unique ritual or exercise for every lunar phase, from new moon to waning crescent. These include:

  • Intention-setting rituals connected to the new moon and full moon
  • Exercises centered around growth, including plant care and other rituals rooted in nature
  • Meditation and breathwork to help you calm and ground yourself
  • Tips for nourishment, deep sleep, and beauty rituals to celebrate your body
  • Journaling prompts to help you explore your monthly intention
  • Other techniques to help you process your emotions and give and receive loving-kindness in everyday life

By following the book through the moons of the year, you'll gain a natural sense of the powers and properties of each season and phase of the moon, and of which rituals and practices resonate most deeply with you. As you incorporate these practices into the rhythm of your days, you'll find yourself moving in greater harmony with natural cycles, and benefiting from your deepening connection to the world around you.

Living Lunarly gives you an accessible yet thorough guide to creating a self-care practice linked to the lunar cycle that is meaningful, individual, and powerfully healing.

This book was actually a very quick read, the graphics and information put into small chunks so it's easier to read. There's also an exercise for every month which I highly appreciate.

Majority of the stuff is stuff I know or do already but I would say this is a nice little book for beginners and isn't too stand offish.

Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for letting me review this

Surprisingly informative, with detailed exercises of intent and affirmation for every moon phase. The author pulls from all sorts of sources from First People to Hinduism straight on to more modern forms of self care and wellness. There is a lot to sift through and even if you don't get on with everything it's possible to cherrypick what works best for your needs.

Living Lunarly is a month by month guide of the moons and what you can do to make use of each phase and their energies. This would be perfect for beginners. A year of doing this would definitely get you into the swing of things!

The artwork is STUNNING. I want prints of everything. Absolutely beautiful. I loved the month by month format, it's extremely easy to follow and understand. There's a good mix of things to do, rituals, more simple things and also visualisations. These in particular were very good. There's also a lot of cute projects, especially with plants which I also enjoyed.

However, there were a few weird social things, such as writing a letter and actually sending it, that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing, but I think you could try and adapt those if you feel the same. It also was a bit repetitive, BUT I read it all in one go, so I wouldn't really recommend that. I would just obviously read the introduction then skim all the moons and go month by month.

My favourite quote: "you will find yourself howling at the moon..and you will likely find her howling back. " 🌙 🐺

I will be buying a physical copy of this book and I do recommend it!

Thank you to Kiki Ely, Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point, Rock Point, and Netgalley for a free copy of Living Lunarly: Moon-Based Self-Care for Your Mind, Body, and Soul for an honest review.

I madly loved this book from flipping into the first page, and I wanted to own a copy before I'd flipped even ten pages through. This is wonderfully broken down by each of the moons, then the phases of each of the moons within it, and there are specific spells, rituals, and focuses already aligned to each of these. I suggest this to anyone and everyone who is on a path following the lunar cycles. You will get so much out this book!!!

I can't wait for publication, so I can get myself one (to work through all the year with) and several gift copies!

This is a beautiful book filled with a plethora of interesting facts! From information on the yearly full moons to the phases of the moon to intention settings for each new moon and how to harness the power of the lunar cycle. The book is divided into specific full moon, monthly chapters. Within each chapter the other phases of the moon are addressed as well as respective plants, self care, journaling, meditation, breath-work and crystals for each phase of that month’s moon. This is an easy to read, and easy to use book. Definitely worth having in your personal library.

This book takes an empathetic approach and gives bite size approaches and allows you to have kindness and patience with yourself when dealing with life. This is so necessary for everyone to read in life. Highly recommend. Especially loved the reflection to true life to humanize my feelings and relate. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Recently, I've been doing a lot of studies around moon cycles and how they relate to the menstrual cycle. So l was a little surprised to see that this book wasn't about that. However, the surprise was pleasant. Living Lunarly, is almost a workbook filled with journal prompts, activities, and fun facts. I loved how easy to read it was and the focus on naturally flowing through states of being during different parts of the year. This made the subject matter very approachable and something I wouldn’t feel awkward sharing with less spiritual friends/ family members.
