From the author of "One Winter’s Night”, an uplifting, feel-good Christmas romance that will captivate readers of Holly Martin, Cathy Bramley and Milly Johnson.

Sylvie Magnusson is going to be lonely this Christmas. Instead of jetting off for her honeymoon, she’s freezing at home in Cheshire. Guess that’s what happens when your fiancé dumps you a week before your wedding…

Sylvie’s best friend, Nari, plans a trip to see the Northern Lights and get Sylvie’s mojo back. But as their Lapland getaway approaches, Sylvie realises that Frozen Falls is the hometown of Stellan Virtanen, her dreamy Finnish ex-boyfriend, the one that got away.

I’m a sucker for a cute holiday rom-com and happily I’ve found another cute one! Not too much cheese and just enough fun to keep it light, this was a quick story that I finished in one sitting/listening.
Sylvie is heartbroken when her fiancé calls off the wedding right before they were set to walk down the aisle after being engaged for 10 years. Her parents had paid for a luxurious honeymoon for them and rather than let it go to waste, Sylvie and her BFF,Nari, who is a travel blogger, decide to swap it out for a dream trip to Finland which sounds heavenly being Christmas time and all-perfect for seeing the northern lights. But there’s also another draw to that location, her first love, Stellan lives there. She met him at Uni on a foreign exchange program but it ended abruptly and she never knew why. She decides to look him up and see if the feelings are still there and try to find out what happened but she gets more than she could ask for when she finds him.
Cute and cozy, this is a perfect read with a cup of tea and a cozy blanket this fall.
My only complaint, if you can even call it that, was that I didn’t love the narrators’ Finland accent when she did Stellan’s parts. Not that it was totally awful or anything like that, it just kind of took me out of the story for a few every time. It was still an enjoyable listen and a nice way to spend the morning.
Thanks to Hera Books and Netgalley for this audiobook arc in exchange for my review.

Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar is a great contemporary romance that is entertaining, engaging, festive, and really hit the spot.

I am reviewing the audiobook version narrated by Helen Duff.

Sylvie and her friend Nari travel to see the fabulous Northern Lights over the holidays. This is just what Sylvie needs after a down and out time where her engagement and soon to be marriage has ended. Of course she never dreamed of bumping into her ex boyfriend on her escapee vaca, you know the one that got away, and now she has to look inside herself to reassess what she truly wants in life and how she truly feels.

I enjoyed visiting Finland, especially during the holidays. The author did a great job giving the reader vivid images of a winter wonderland. I also enjoyed the second chance romance with Stellan.

A comfy, cozy, festive, and upbeat romance that helped warm my heart and day.

5/5 stars for the audiobook and the novel

Thank you NG and Saga Egmont Audio and Hera Books for this wonderful arc and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.

I am posting this review to my GR and Bookbub accounts immediately and will post it to my Amazon, Instagram, and B&N accounts upon publication.

So Heartwarming! Even though it is not winter, this is the perfect book to read all cozy with hot chocolate by the fire.

To get over Cole and their almost marriage, Sylvia goes with her best friend on a trip up north to Lapland for the holidays. Of course she plans to meet up with her first love Stelland.

This is a light romance that includes a snowy wonderland, cute puppies, wilderness adventure, and great friends. Of course the ending was very predictable, but it warmed my heart nonetheless.

Some other highlights was that I read this as an audiobook and thought the narrator was fun and engaging. Her Finnish accents made me chuckle a bit, but made it easy to distinguish the characters.

The only thing I didn't enjoy as much were the parts that were just reading the blog posts. I know it was a style choice, but I think that it was forcing the modern aspect more than needed. Maybe just hearing hashtags read aloud to me is a bit annoying and that was what irked me insteadof the content.

I did really like this book and who knows, I may reread it again around Christmas.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this Audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this magical Christmas romance.
The story holds the perfect balance of whimsical, quirky, likable anthracites and a lovely story that unfolds at a very good pace.

"Some feelings are worth the agony"

I feel like this story is a story about what happens when you just let go and live. Best friends Sylvie and Nari's love life takes a turn for the better-- something neither of them has known before.

Sylvie reunites with an old flame Stellan, while on vacation to Lapland. Stellan, lets down all his walls and comes clean about why he left Sylvie all those years ago. A new connection is formed and they reexplore who they are together.

Nari is a jet-setting travel influencer. She is an independent, educated, and strong female whose the closest thing to love life is a random hookup with her billionaire friend with benefits.
That changes here too.

Both of the girls fall in love, but the reality is that the beauty of Frozen Falls, the huskies, and Northern Lights are not part of their reality. All this love and beauty will stay behind in this magical world-- or is it?

Thank you, NetGalley and Saga Egmont Audio, for the audio book. It may be 85 degrees and sunny in New Jersey, but Christmas at Frozen Falls gave me all of the holiday feels. Set in the tundra of Lapland, we experience Sylvie's heartbreak and healing from the point of view of various characters. I loved the narrator's warm accent and I loved being reminded of the magic of second chances. Now, is it too early to put up my Christmas tree? Never! Light your evergreen candle and cozy up to this charming holiday tale (even if it is September).

Christmas looks to be a bleak affair for Sylvie Magnusson. After her fiance jilts her, Sylvie will be spending the holiday in chilly Cheshire instead of taking off on a sun and fun filled honeymoon. Nari, Sylvie’s friend, suggests that the two of them take a trip North, to see the Aurora Borealis. Hoping that a change of scenery will help, Sylvie agrees, but the she remembers their destination is also the home of Stellan, a boyfriend Sylvis has never quit gotten over. When the two reunite, sparks fly, but is this just a holiday romance, or something more lasting? A delightfully sweet and funny romance told in Duff’s charming voice

5 stars
I loved the premise of this book and was excited when I was able to get an advanced copy. Needless to say, this book was everything I was looking for in a Christmas romance and more! The author did a wonderful job capturing the holiday feelings with a setting, characters, and story line. I loved getting to travel with two relatable and likeable characters as they both journey to find not only their next steps in their professional lives, but also their personal life as well. The author gave both of the main characters equal amount of time and development that the readers can not help to root for a HEA outcome for both couples. This book had such a great wintery feeling to it throughout the story. I loved all the remote locations the characters were able to travel to during their much needed holiday together. The two main characters had such a strong and deep friendship that was seen throughout the story. The narrator did a great job with the voices and foreign language. The writing and pacing was well done. This story moved at a great pace that I was able to finish it in one setting. I could not put it down, I had to see what would happen next. Overall, the ending captured my heart and left me well satisfied and grinning. I would recommend this book for those looking for their next holiday romance with two swoon worthy heroes! I can't wait for this author's next new release.

Thank you to Netgalley and Saga Egmont Audio for giving me an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thought and opinions are my own.

So when I saw this book advertised I jumped at the chance to read it, I love Christmas books anytime of year but I have had the northern lights on my to-do list for the last few years and blasted covid has stopped me being able to travel and see them. So I thought I might as well live my dream through someone else for the moment.

Our MC Sylvie Magnusson should be jetting off on the honeymoon of a lifetime, however after been jilted a week before the wedding she is at home in freezing Cheshire still wondering what happened. Trying to brighten her mood her best friend plans a trip to see the Northern Lights in Lapland, polar opposites to where she should be going. However as the trip gets closer Sylvie realises that Frozen Falls the resort they will be staying in, is the hometown of Stellan Virtanen, her ex boyfriend from University.

This is the perfect read for Christmas, especially with its magical snowy setting in Lapland. All the characters are interesting and very easy to like as are the locations within the book. Also seem to be in keeping with local customs. I really enjoyed the book and will definitely look out for books by the author in the future as this is the first book I have read by her. I also enjoyed the narrators voice and the pace of the story telling, it made listening to the book more enjoyable.

Expected publication date 31st October 2021.

The Mistletoe Pact was a sweet, heartfelt read that definitely gives the reader the fuzzy hallmark love kind of feels. A tale of two friends who I will admit, spent their sweet ass time finally succumbing to the pull between them.

I will admit I was a little frustrated with the lack of communication between the two. Yes, it created tension and helped draw out their budding relationship, but I felt like it was just a little too drawn out and I was beginning to lose interest.

Other than that there were still a lot of things I liked about the book. Lots of cute heartwarming moments, some witty banter, and a very satisfying ending for everyone.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of The Mistletoe Pact.

Are you looking for a sweet and wholesome Christmas romance to add to your December audiobooks? Are you a little tired of teenage antics, and want to read about a bit more mature and established characters? Well, this is the book for you!
It's brilliantly told and narrated, making it a pleasure to listen to. It's wholesome enough to listen in public (and at work), without worrying your coworker is listening in. Helen Duff's voice is pleasant and soothing, engaging you from the start, and the voices she gives for each of the characters are distinct and fitting.

I really loved this book! Since I grew up in Alaska, all the talk of the Aurora Borealis really made me nostalgic. I loved that in this book we had two love stories. This was definitely a sweet Hallmark type of read, perfect for Christmas!

First thing's first, I'd like to thank NetGalley and Saga Egmont Audio for sending me the audiobook of Christmas at Frozen Falls in exchange for an honest review.

If you think that reading a Christmas romance novel in September might be weird and unsuitable, I'm here to tell you that it isn't. Actually, I didn't mind at all that I didn't read this book in the appropriate season. The story is written so beautifully that you forget that it's 30°C outside.

Christmas at Frozen Falls follows Sylvie, the protagonists who got dumped just before her wedding. And if that's not bad enough, it's Christmas and she's all alone. She takes her friend, Mari to Lapland, where Sylvie and her ex-fiance were supposed to spend their honeymoon. Things are not as depressive as Sylvie thought they would be.

Christmas at Frozen Falls explores two different relationship of two different couples. And mind you, this is one of the most realistic romance books I've ever read. The characters and their actions seem relatable and nothing is forced just for the sake of romance. I'm a sucker for slow burn and this book provides.

But this book is far more than just a romance novel, it describes Sylvie's journey of self discovery and growth. The atmosphere is cozy and I loved the scenery.

I was surprised that it had 2 povs. Both provide inside information of the lives and feelings of the two couples.

The narrator did an excellent job with the female characters. At first, I didn't like how she did the male ones but I got used to it.

Story: 4/5⭐
Narrator: 4/5⭐

Christmas at Frozen Falls is an uplifting romance. Sylvie's fiance dumped her one week before the wedding. The honeymoon was supposed to be at Christmas time so her parents scheduled a vacation for that time as she was going to be gone. Now she is looking at spending Christmas alone. Her best friend, Nari, plans a trip for them to go to Lapland and see the Northern lights. Sylvie is reluctant to go on the trip but them she remembers that Frozen Falls is the hometown of her dreamy Finnish college boyfriend. When they arrive at the resort in Lapland, they learn that they are staying in the resort that Stellan's family owned and he is now running it. He is still the gorgeous hunk that she remembered but he is a bit reserved with her at first. Stellan and his assistant take the two women on great outdoor adventures and some romance occurs. This is a great book that I recommend.

Christmas at Frozen Falls - Kiley Dunbar
Narrated by Helen Duff

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Sage Egmont Audio and I am leaving this review voluntarily

This book has been on my want to read list for a while, so when I saw that it was up for request on Netgalley I jumped at the opportunity to get it listened to sooner. I adore the way that Kiley Dunbar writes so I am going back and reading all of her books.

With beautiful scenery, this is an ideal book to read on a cold evening as the snow is falling as it is a warm and cosy novel. Full of Christmas spirit, this will set you up perfectly for the festivities of the upcoming season. With alternating chapters that work well - Dunbar has allowed to reader to follow two different characters on their romantic journeys. A delightful book that is full of lovely characters, Lapland traditions and snow - what is not to love?

Christmas At Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar.

This book was originally released in 2019, but will now be making it’s audio debut on 31/10/21.

Immediately the cover draws you in. It’s very festive and inviting.

Sylvie is nursing a broken heart. Her wedding is off, Christmas is coming and even her parents will be away.
Sylvie’s best friend Nari, comes to the rescue with a trip to Lapland for Christmas.
As they arrive in Frozen Falls, Sylvie comes face to face with Stellan, a ghost from her past, and the one that got away….
Bring on sleigh rides, reindeer, adorable dogs, Christmas cheer, snow, romance and some more snow.

The story ticks along at a good pace. It’s well written, with likeable characters and a well described setting.

This is a charming story, that will captivate your heart and warm the cockles of your festive cheer. Quite simply just the most lovely hug in a book.

Audio narrated by Helen Duff, who has done a sterling job with some difficult accents.

A festively fabulous five stars from me.

A sweet holiday romance. Sylvie is not looking forward to Christmas having been dumped by her jerk of an ex shortly before their wedding. She is truly in a slump and wants to be left alone and to wallow. Her best friend Nari has completely different plans for them both and books them on a trip to Lapland to see the Northern lights. Mostly her intentions are good, but I also found her to be selfish in that she’s a travel blogger with no where to go so she hijacks her friend and takes her somewhere she had no desire to go to. Additionally she thinks Sylvie jus needs to “get over it” and move on as she isn’t one who really believes in true love. As it turns out Sylvies ex-boyfriend, the only true love of her heart owns the resort they are booked to go to. He broke her heart so so she isn’t really sure if she is happy or a little freaked out to see Stellan and clearly neither is he. Nari has a tendency to go off and do her own thing for her work while not taking her friends emotional quagmire into account. Slowly Sylvie and Stellan find their way back to each other and find their HEA. And puppies. Really cute puppies. This is perfect for the holiday season or if you just need a pick me up and a little insight to Lapland. Lovely narration.

Rounding up to a 5 (even though pining after a lost love drives me crazy).

I really enjoyed hearing about Lapland or Finland and I'm glad that Kiley Dunbar was able to weave details into Christmas at Frozen Falls. Experiencing the Frozen Falls must have been incredible for Sylvie. Also liked hearing about a sled dog ride and all the glass windows to experience the outdoors while indoors.

Sylvie vacations with her friend Nari who does travel blog posts. Most chapters alternate between Sylvie and Nari and Nari's blog posts. I really liked Nari's blog posts, even though they were the shortest part of the novel.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kiley Dunbar the author and Saga Egmont Audio for the opportunity to review this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Publication date is scheduled for 30 Oct 2021.

Christmas at Frozen Falls - what a gorgeous festive read! Poor Sylvie- our main character. - has had her wedding called off by her fiancée so she and her best friend decide to to Lapland to get away from it all. Think Husky rides, cosy cabins, cute husky puppies, thick snow ……this book has everything and a real thick
coating of romance on top because Sylvie didn’t choose this destination randomly - she knew her Finnish ex boyfriend she met at university all those years ago happens to come from here. Will she bump into him again?
This is the perfect read in the coming months and weeks leading up to Christmas snuggled up by the fire. I listened to the audiobook which is narrated by Helen Duff and oh - what a joy she made it! So,thank you Netgalley and Saga Egmont Audio for my Lappish Winter Wonderland Adventure!

I loved this audiobook. The story was great and I was hooked from the beginning. I kept finding excuses to listen to it while doing other things. I only wish that there had been a male reader for those parts. It was so sweet and really got me in the Christmas mood. I want to travel to Lapland.

Oh my goodness, this was a blissful escape! I loved it from start to finish!
The story lines were entertaining and the scenic descriptions were fantastic....Christmas in Lapland!
Sylvie and Narry were really well written protagonists; the story is mainly set around Sylvie but Narry was such a great character, I'm glad she had a bigger role. The love interests: Stellan and Neala were swoony too.

I would highly recommend Christmas at Frozen Falls to get you into the Christmas mood

Things I loved: Christmas, second chance love, best friends on vacation
Things I didn't love: male voices, Sylvie's determination to misunderstand Stellan
Sylvie and Nari, her best friend, take a trip to the Arctic circle to spend Christmas. It wasn't how Sylvie originally planned to spend her honeymoon, but Nari convinces her to give the vacation a chance. However, Sylvie comes face to face with her ghost of the past, Stellan. All of her first-love feelings come rushing back to her as they spend a few days getting to know each other again at his family's resort.
This novel comes with two love stories: Sylvie with Stellan and Nari with Stellan's best friend. Unfortunately, there was a massive lack of communication between Sylvie and Stellan, which was annoying. Sylvie kept assuming the worst of Stellan's intentions, which didn't make any sense. It seemed like she kept projecting her insecurities onto him instead of just asking him how he felt.
I couldn't get used to the narrator's Finnish accent for the male characters. It seemed a little too unrealistic. Also, there was a lot of dialogue in that accent, making it hard to listen along at some parts.
Overall this was a cute story. The vacation presented the perfect storm that led to the eventful ending. I would recommend this to readers who enjoy cold vacation destinations and second chance romance.

Review of Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar - Audiobook

This is the first book I have read by this author. Overall I enjoyed the story. The main character did annoy me a bit though for being such a push over. Her long term partner had ended the ten year relationship just before their wedding and well and truly played her like a fiddle and took everything. She just let this happen and then when he comes calling six month later to ask for the ring back, she just hands it over to his mother! Had it not been for her best friend she would still be under the duvet six months later! Anyways the book centers on her and her best friend on a trip to lapland (which was a swap from the honeymoon she had planned). Whilst there she contacts and re connects with an old flame from her university days. Que the main part of the story.

Travel to Finnish Lapland, hug some cute huskies, see the Northern Lights and experience the magic of Christmas along with Sylvie and Nari. It was amazing how a story set in the freezing cold land of Lapland could produce so much warmth that it brought a glow to my heart. A fun romance which showed me that everything happened at a definite time in this universe. Frozen Falls is such a gorgeous location for book, I really felt I was there alongside Sylvie and Nari, its utterly stunning, and if it can't ignite some Christmas feeling in you then nothing will. Perfect read if you want to get into the Christmas spirit, even in the middle of the fall season. I loved Sylvie and her best friend Nari, so I became completely invested in them and their lives from the outset. I loved that while Sylvie reconnected with her ex-boyfriend Stellan, Nari had her own romantic adventure with the adorable, indigenous Niilo. The narrator did a great job with the voices and foreign language. The writing and pacing was well done. This story moved at a great pace that I was able to finish it in one setting. I could not put it down, I had to see what would happen next. The romance is perfect, the setting is beautiful and it all just wraps itself up nicely at the end. It is a lovely story to escape into, with great characters, fantastic frozen scenery, amazing sights and light, and a couple of romances to melt even a frozen heart. I really enjoyed reading it and have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who likes escaping into contemporary, second chance romances. This is my first read by Kiley Dunbar but I can 100% guarantee that it will not be the last Expected publication date 31st October 2021. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC.

I've received this book from netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this chance. This book is to be released on...
As suggested in the title it's a Christmas season book, with the atmosphere of snow, cookies and Christmas decorations. Set in the snow it gives even more of the spectacular and magic of the winter.
The location is....Lapland and the main characters the broken hearted girl, dumped just before her wedding Silvie and her adventurous blogger friend travel from the grey England for a touch of Christmas spirit each of them following a purpose:Silvie hopes to meet her lover from the past, while Nari wants a new set up for her travel,a picturesque location to give her more theme for the travel blog she had.
My rating for the book is 3 stars, and I'll try to explain it.
I liked the idea, also a white Christmas is something I'm so looking for,so it was lovely to read about, and dream about.I felt like the characters and their stories were kinda superficial,or the author could do a bit more of a job unfolding them. It was a nice parallel between the broken hearted girl that was left and her problems with the ex ,her suffering for the dog she was not allowed to see,for the way she was treated by her ex and his mom,and her friend, the girl that was a free soul, also looking for adventures ,having a relationship that was giving her crumbs of love, and her reaction to the new man that she met, treating everything as a holiday romance. So she wasn't credible from my point of view, when she went back to look for him.
A predictable happy ending story for both women, and a reader that can put aside the book and say that even if the book was a full load of cheesy, and predictable moments it's worth reading at least for having a mental trip to Lapland for Christmas and see white fluffy snowflakes and reindeers.

Hallmark and Netflix Christmas movie lovers--I have just found my newest obsession: Holiday based women's fiction!

Set is Lapland, above the Arctic Circle, readers are invited into a winter wonderland. There, in the quiet, peaceful solitude of nature you can face the honest of new and rekindled love.

This may or may not be the third Christmas book in a row I've read/listened to this September and I absolutely adored it. I loved the drama, the love, bouncing back after a break-up, and a little bit of the one that got away. Sylvie was broken up with right before her wedding to her boyfriend of 10 years and she is absolutely devastated (although it shouldn't have came as a complete surprise). So instead of going on her originally planned Honeymoon she and her bestfriend decide to go on a trip to Saariselkä to get away... or the main reason is so she can try to get together with with Stellan- a flame that died out in college but she never forgot about. This was an absolute delight of a story and I could not stop!

Christmas at Frozen Falls is a cute Christmassy second chance romance. If Christmas in Lapland, reindeer sleigh rides and a bunch of husky puppies sound good to you, you'll probably enjoy it quite a bit.

I can't say the romance gripped me 100%, nor that I completely clicked with the characters. And the things that kept these people apart probably could have been more convincing.

But all in all, this book was cute and fun and exactly what you can expect based on that cover.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar in exchange for an honest review.

I'll admit that I read the eBook version of this story but I enjoyed it so much I wanted to experience it through audiobook! I'm so glad I did as well because the narration added something to the story and made it feel more alive!

This might actually be my favourite story this year it is just so festive and the setting was just perfection.

I love Kiley Dunbar’s books! Her stories always pull me right in and make me completely forget about everything else. I already owned the ebook version of this story, but it was still on my TBR pile so when I got the opportunity to listen to this story I was keen to get started. I really enjoyed the story and am curious to see if I would have experienced it differently if I had read it, so maybe one day I will go back and also read the book.

What to expect:

✅ a lot of gorgeous winter scenary and experiences in Lapland

✅ a likeable main character Sylvie with a more outgoing and slightly crazier/feistier best friend Nari

✅ the story has several parts to it. It’s about the two girls going on holiday to Frozen Falls in Lapland and then… there’s Sylvie’s story, meeting her old uni boyfriend again and there’s Nari’s romance.

✅ lots of husky puppies that get a lot of attention as Sylvie has a soft spot for dogs… I wish I could have been there cuddling those puppies!

✅ friends, family and traditions and food!

4⭐️ Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar

Sylvie just got dumped by her fiancé of 10 years a few month before their wedding. Her and her best friends, Nari, decide to swap out her romantic island honeymoon for a winter wonderland getaway in Finland. And it just so happens sylvie’s college romance owns the resort. This is an adorable second chance love story that flips back and forth between Sylvie and Nari’s romantic days while on vacation. This book can be a little slow at times but kept me entertained through most of it! Makes me want to go to a snow covered land and fall in love. And the narrator of the audiobook does and amazing job! She can do so many accents it makes it seem like there’s a whole cast and not just one actor!

I may have just found the perfect holiday read! A beautiful setting, side-by-side romances, husky puppies, and a best friend to experience at all with… What’s not to love!?!? The only thing that could make this book better is a fantastic narrator to bring it to life which is exactly What Helen Duff does!!!

If you want to enhance your holidays with just one audio experience this year, Christmas at frozen falls is definitely for you.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 shiny stars for this feel good holiday read

This was an adorable read perfect for the holiday season. It's a warm tail about second chances, family, friendship and finding your true self. The characters were all likeable and leave you rooting for their happy endings. We also had a bonus love story included between two other characters. I was worried that would take away from the main love story but it didn't. This is a perfect read to get you in the mood for a light hearted Christmas time of year.
Thank you to the publisher, author and NetGalley for the ARC.

Sylvie has been dumped by her boyfriend of 10 years. And right at Christmas. Her best friend writes a travel blog and convinces Sylvie to travel with her to see the Northern Lights instead of wallowing in self pity at home. Sylvie reconnects with the true love of her life - her college love Stellan. He owns a remote resort in one of the coldest spots on earth - Frozen Falls. The air is pure and the scenery is beautiful and she realizes she still loves him. Stellan is very stoic and doesn't talk about his feelings. They must figure out if they STILL love each other. A nice second chance Christmas romance. Excellent narration by Helen Duff.

This has everything you could want in a festive read - love, romance, beautiful scenery and a puppy! When I can imagine a book in my head as a 'Hallmark Movie' I know the author has hit the nail on the head and this book is exactly that.

Christmas at Frozen Falls was an easy and quick to read (or rather listen to) story that quickly had me glued to my earphones!

The narration was very well done, and I enjoyed the no drama friendship between the two women at the heart of the story. It was such a nice breath of fresh air to not have any sort of bitchiness or squabbles, but a stable pair of best friends.

The scenery of icy lapland was just utterly stunning. I could feel the snow and the freezing cold air, and enjoyed every second of my bookish holiday! It definitely was the major pull for me throughout the book.

I liked the romance, though it didn't grab me as much as it did in some other books. As the backdrop and the characters themselves were more than fascinating enough to always keep me well engaged I didn't mind the actual romance to be a bit less gripping than it could have been.

What I did enjoy though, was the cultural differences not just being shoved aside, or a lovely quirk, but actually providing some friction and needing to work on.
I also loved the contrast of shy, laid back, insecure and brazen, adventurous and self reliant characters. It nicely rounded of the story and made it a smoother and more interesting read.

And there's not just dogs - but puppies. Who doesn't love some puppies!

What an adorable Christmas romantic story - I loved it. I'm a sucker for a festive romance novel and this did not disappoint. The plot may have been predictable but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were lovable and very easy to root for. The book sets the scene beautifully and has made me desperate to go to Lapland for my own festive romance.

The narrator perfectly suits this story and was able to capture the accents of the characters perfectly. I would love a part two as I would love to know what happens to the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who wants a light-hearted festive read.

All you want from a Christmas book. Cost, snowy, and cute. As an audiobook, the narrator was intriguing and engaging. The romance was so sweet, the plot was smart and the writing was good.
Overall a great holiday read.

When Sylvie gets dumped a week before the wedding, she obviously needs to take her honeymoon with her bestie, Nari! After trying to figure out where to change the trip to, Sylvie remembers a guys she was ghosted by in college lived in Frozen Falls, one of the options, so the choice becomes obvious. The trip ended up being better than either imagined. Sylvie and Stellan reconnect in Frozen Falls, while Nari also meets someone and starts something fantastic! This story was awesome, it was just what I needed in the moment!

This was exactly what it says on the tin and just right for the colder weather. The story follows Sylvie as she puts herself back together after being jilted before her wedding. But what starts as heartache turns into relief as she picks herself up and prepares for a Christmas escape to Lapland with her best friend Nari.
This was a cosy, comforting story full of Winter wonderland descriptions and a huge dose of romance.
As an audio book I found the narrator a little earnest to begin with but after a chapter or two the switch between narrator and character accents became less noticeable.
An enjoyable audiobook and would recommend to romance readers.

Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
.
Look at me, reading a Christmas story at the beginning of October… oops!
.
Thank you, @netgalley and #SagaEgmontAudio for this gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This book was originally released in 2019, but the audiobook is making its debut on 10/31/21!
.
Let me tell you, this book was worth the read. Super cute! Exactly what I needed to get myself excited for the upcoming Christmas season!
.
Synopsis: “Sylvie Magnusson is going to be lonely this Christmas.

But as their Lapland getaway approaches, Sylvie realises that Frozen Falls is the hometown of Stellan Virtanen, her dreamy Finnish ex-boyfriend, the one that got away.”
.
Okay, this book was great, not only because of our main character Sylvie, because of her best friend Nari who has her own story.
.
This story included Christmas, traveling, and HUSKIES! How could I not adore this book?
.
This definitely needs to be a must-read for the Christmas season!

This is one of the best Christmas books I have read this year. I absolutely loved it! Sylvie has been dumped a week before her wedding and her best friend Nari takes her on a holiday to Lapland to see the Northern Lights. While she is there, she meets her ex boyfriend from many years ago, Stellan from Finland. They get on amazingly well and have a lot of fun, romance and adventure together. Nari also finds romance with Stellan's friend. Sylvie unfortunately has to go back to England after her holiday, but will she see Stellan again? Read the book to find out! The narrator of the audiobook, Helen, did a great job doing the different accents. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sylvie is left pretty much at the altar by her fiancé, Cole, who gets cold feet and breaks their engagement via text. She is devastated and tries to move on trying to understand why this happened to her of all people. It’s Christmas’ time and what was supposed to be her honeymoon now is no more. She tries to cancel the trip and get whatever money she can salvage but her best friend Nary talks her into changing the trip and have a holiday for the two of them.

I listened to the audiobook, and fell in love with the narrator. She was hilarious with all the voices and the different accents. At times I thought I was watching a movie and not listening to an audiobook. I loved the friendship between Sylvie and Nary. It was raw, honest, the kind of friendship you want to have with someone. Nary was my favorite character although she wasn’t the main protagonist. The two women made me laugh so hard with the come backs they threw at each other when they bickered.

I didn’t care much for Stellan. He seemed too dry, emotionless—though that’s how he was supposed to be. The long and short of his backstory was that “men” in his country were raised not to express too much emotion and to use the word “love” only if they really meant it. I honest,y didn’t feel the chemistry between him and Sylvie. I thought there was more chemistry between Nary and Neelo (Stellan’s friend).

Also, Sylvie’s decision to look for her long lost love was kind of far fetched. To me it seemed it was more out of desperation and wanting someone to love because she felt alone and somewhat of a failure. Now, through the story she realized everything that had been wrong with her failed engagement to Cole and what started as a desperate act turned into real love. But still… in my mind, her desperate search seemed more like something a young adult would do rather than a 34 year old.

This is a rom-com but for me, the highlight of the story was the strong friendship between the women, and for that reason I gave this a 4 star.

Such a wonderful change of scenery! A Christmas love story in Lapland! Not one but two love stories. The story of lost love and new love and taking the chance of forever love. Best friends decide to see the Northern Lights over Christmas, to forget that this was supposed to be the time of Sylvie honeymoon…..not! She was dumped days before her wedding. Nari her best friend decided they would go together, but Sylvie didn’t want to go to the tropical island as was planned, so the complete opposite is to go to Frozen Falls in the Lapland’s. It also so happens that Sylvie’s first love Stellan comes from that small town. Could she happen upon him? Get answers to why he left suddenly from school and broke her heart?
Nari is a travel blogger and is always up to new experiences. Hoping to help her friend get over her heartbreak she tries to meet up with Stellan to get the two together. Although this means she is paired up with Stellan best friend and coworker, could there be something else between them?
Love the narration, she really put you in the wilds of Lapland. Plus the husky puppies are a plus.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #Netgalley #ChristmasatFrozenFalls

I really liked the Christmas vibes. Went from spooky season to holiday season real fast. I liked the story a lot, more of self discovery. But I liked the characters and the relationship.

This was a cute, feel-good, slightly angsty holiday romcom. The characters were fun, and I enjoyed seeing a bit of development in them. I also liked the setting of the story- it added some fun and informative elements. I like a festive story, but I also appreciate that it wasn’t overloaded with Christmas-y details (because, as much as it’s my favourite time of year, I like when books work year-round). If you’re in the mood for something sweet with a nice, happy ending, check out this story. I know I’ll be looking for other books by this author in the future as well.

I loved this book. We follow Sylvie who was dumped weeks before her wedding and her best friend Nari as they rearrange Sylvie's honeymoon to go to Lapland over Christmas. There Sylvie and Nari both connect with guides of the resort and go on the adventure of a lifetime. The guide Sylvie connects with is her ex boyfriend from college who had been studying abroad for a semester. This second chance romance is beautiful.

First off, the descriptions of Lapland, the food (as different as it may be), the culture, and the landscape have me dreaming of a visit. It was incredible. All I want to do now is buy a ticket to Lapland, take a dog sled ride, stay in a log cabin in the middle of the snowy forest, and experience a world completely different than my own. If a book can convince me to add a place to my "places to travel" list then it is off to a good start.

We have a second chance romance between Sylvie and Stellan that just makes your heart melt. I loved the two of them together and the back story of each of the characters made them seem so real and helped to build the believable chemistry between them. Nari's romance was adorable as it was sudden. unexpected, and was an opposites attract.

The Christmas element of this was perfectly done. It wasn't forced into every chapter, it was simply a holiday that was present in the story. If you want to be transported to a new part of the world and read about 2 cozy love stories this is the book for you.

I felt at home with this book straight away as it had quite a few links to my real life, I currently live in Manchester and I use to live in Lincolnshire (there is a character who was born in Grantham). There’s just a special little buzz you get when the places are really familiar to you as you can really picture yourself in the character’s shoes.

Kiley always creates amazing characters and Sylvie and Nari weren’t any exception, the book is focused on Sylvie but we get a few chapters from Nari’s point of view to which is really nice as you get to know both characters independently. I especially liked Nari’s blog chapters as it felt like I was one of her readers having a nosey at her life.

I’ll not say too much about the two hunks but you just know they’re the kindest giants out there. As we see their relationships with the girls developing you can see that their hearts are in the right place and you can’t help but love them a little bit.

Frozen Falls as a resort is one thing but when we see the falls that the resort is named after it’s just mesmerising. Kiley description created an amazing vision in my head and I really felt like I was standing there looking at it myself. And then throw in the northern lights, the roaring fire and I would have happily been transported there instantly!

I really enjoyed listening to this book and being able to fully escape from the real world for a few hours at a time, especially when I wasn’t feeling the best. I can see myself reading this in years to come and will be crossing my fingers that Kiley will be writing another Christmas book soon 🤞🏻

What a unique and enjoyable romance novel!
This book had unique, flawed, and lovable characters that truly came to life in the gorgeous setting of Lapland. Every Christmas story should be set in such a beautiful place. The descriptions of the scenery came to life, and I think that's what really captivated me and brought the story to life. The characters didn't grab me, at first, but I came to love them all. While you know you're going to get your festive happy ending, the book's conflict was handled very well; Not too outlandish or inconsequential. All in all, I enjoyed the cozy winter read! If nothing else, read it so you can close your eyes and pretend to be in Finland!

When Sylvie Magnusson chooses a Christmas getaway with her best friend instead of her canceled honeymoon, she chooses a cold weather adventure in Lapland. Frozen Falls happens to be the home of her ex-boyfriend, an exchange student from Lapland. Experience the northern lights, saunas, culture and expanse of this frozen tundra, replete with new Christmas traditions and sleigh dogs.
This is a heartwarming story of taking a second chance on love.

I have to admit I requested this thinking it would be a fluff listen while I wedding prepped. I was so wrong. The characters are wonderful and the storyline could not be any more lovely. I literally could not stop listening.

Sylvie a bride, basically left at the alter, converts her honeymoon to a dazzling Christmas vacation with her best friend up inside the arctic circle. While planning she realizes an old flame lives in the area.

Cue Stellan a hunky, romantic, and caring man who runs the resort that Sylvie is staying at. I’m guessing you can figure out if they rekindle their love. However, the strong voices each character brings to the table are what make this book unforgettable that and the long list below for a perfect winter warmup.

Husky sled rides

A reindeer herder

Christmas magic all over the place

The quite that snow brings to the world

A glass cabin for watching the northern lights

Genuine growth in every character

Review in 10-ish words: Cute, festive and better than a Christmas movie! 4/5

Synopsis:
Sylvie is heartbroken when her fiancé of ten years leaves her. She dreads the idea of a lonely Christmas with her parents (as adorable as they are) and equally despises the idea of going on her beach would-be honeymoon.

Sylvie's best friend; Naree pulls through with an epic trip to see the northern lights! Lapland may be a Finnish, snowy paradise... but she also remembers its home to her old uni boyfriend; Stellan.

My thoughts:
I was not excited for Christmas this year. I am away from home again, I am living overseas and I just wasn't getting into the spirit-
This book fixed that and then some! It calls for boozy hot chocolates and fuzzy blankets.
I loved Sylvie and her relationship with Naree. I loved how much of the setting of Lapland we got to see in the book. If anything it has moved Finland up on my holiday wish list!
It's soppy in the way that all romance reads are. This one is fairly tame and is more so a 'romcom' kind of read in my opinion, don't go into it expecting heavy spice.
The ending dragged on a teeny, tiny bit. But otherwise, an enjoyable read.

I Would recommend for a cold, wintry afternoon over the holiday season <3

The narration for the audiobook is STELLAR.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing a complementary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. The opinions in this review are entirely my own.

An absolutely gorgeous book! Perfect for any time of year but especially wonderful in the run up to Christmas.

Kiley Dunbar is one of those authors who you can rely on. You know that when you see her name on the cover you are in for a treat of a read and Christmas At Frozen Falls doesn’t disappoint. It has all her usual hallmarks, romance, sadness, laugh out loud moments and great characters

Is it christmas yet? If I wasn't already in the christmas spirit, I sure would be after listening to this one! I love books with travels to other countries and if it's somewhere I've never been, even better. This was the romantic christmas get away, I needed.
One thing, I will say, is that I was really confused about what some of the characters names were. First off, we have Nari, who I thought was called Mary throughout the whole book and it wasn't until after I read some of the other reviews (to find the name of another character), that I found out her name was Nari. Second, we have Stellans friend. At first I thought his name was Milla, and he was I girl, making me super excited about women loving women relationships in an otherwise very straight book. Then I found out he was a man and then I thought I heard Milo as his name (pronounces in the scandinavian way - pronounced like Milla, but just with an O in end). And now reading the othere reviews, I find out that his name was probably Niilo/Neala/somtehing.
Overall I really enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a (as we would say in Denmark) hyggelig book to read over christmas!

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. I enjoyed this book. Perfect for the Christmas season that is around the corner. I will say that I loved the narrator the only part that I didn't like was when she tried to do a different accent..it was a bit on the annoying side.

Sylvie has lost the christmast spirit because was dumped by her fiancee a week before their wedding. Instead of going for her honeymoon, she was staying alone in her house. Then, her best friend Nari plans a getaway trip to see the Northern Lights to get back her christmas spirit.
Turns out the destination of where they're staying belongs to Sylvie's Finnish ex-boyfriend from ages ago, Stella Vitanen.

Listening to this makes me wish I could spend my Christmas in Lapland!

This book is very well written, the setting in Lapland is perfect for a Christmas theme books. The snow, the reindeers, the view of the night sky and adorable husky puppies in this story capture my heart immediately and I know it's going to be a book I like.
I love how detailed the description about the scenery of the place, makes me feel like I'm there.

The characters are wonderful and well developed. Not only the main characters get the spotlight, there's also a love story for the side characters like Nari and Niilo.
Both love stories has its up and downs and I could really feel the emotions from each of the characters.
Although if I'm being honest, I actually like Nari and Niilo's love story more compare to the Sylvie and Stellan😂

As for the narrator for the audiobook, I like the way she delivers the story. Even though I don't really like how she change the accent when she was reading Stellan's part. The sudden change surprised me and sometimes pull me out of the story while I was listening to it.

Overall, this is a great second chance love story, I love the warm and cozy atmosphere filled with christmas spirit in this book. I have a good time listening to this audiobook!
A perfect read for fall or winter season, curled up in bed beneath a blanket with a steaming hot chocolate!

If you're looking to read a second chance romance with a magical christmas setting then this book might be for you!

Actual rating: 3.5⭐

Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar.
Read by Helen Duff.
Thanks to Netgalley
I can truthfully say I have never read a romance novel set in Finland 🇫🇮 until now. It was a pretty cute story although the main character was a little too self-denigrating but her friend made up for it. That is, except for the fact that she seriously freaks out about being older than the cute and charming Sami guy she meets. That seemed kind of out of character for her. The location made for a beautiful, charming Christmas 🎅 setting and plus there were dogs 🐕 and how cannot you not love a story about dog lovers?
4 Christmas trees 🎄
