Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group, for the advance reading ecopy.
I seriously need the physical copy asap as it's the exact journal I have been wanting all this time!
The book is beautiful, perfect and just the right combination of assertions for mornings no matter what kind of days they are going to be.
It's calming. It will help you a lot. Seek anything you want for the day each morning using this journal. At the most, your mind will be all set I say!
This journal is beautiful inside out.
This is lovely book with bright colours to make you happy. There s lots of space for you to write things down and there is lovely mantras to read as well.
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.
A beautiful look though how to utilize your inner light in life and how to make your life brighter. Pun intended. Journal prompts to guide you through the seasons. Highly recommend. Especially loved the reflection to true life to humanize my feelings and relate. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book invites readers to make the most of those first moments after they wake up. The author asks them to briefly engage with setting a self-reflective tone for the day. Each pastel colored two page spread includes a thought from the author while on the opposite page there is a journal question. For example, in one entry it is suggested that cities are most peaceful early in the day while the next page invites the reader to think about how they will receive peace that day. Another talks about how plants grow up and down and then the reader is asked to consider how they are growing inward and outward.
Do these kinds of thoughts and exercises appeal to you? If yes, this book will become a welcome c0mpanion.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
The meditations in this book were great, but I wish they had been arranged a little differently. The seasonality threw me off. Since we're currently in January, I went to the winter section, but many of the winter meditations said things about "winter soon approaching," so that didn't fit either. So, really, I needed to look at the spring section for "upcoming spring" meditations. Just a little confusing in its arrangement, but otherwise very nice.
**Thank you for the advance copy! All opinions are my own.**
4 stars. Beautiful, lyrical, and engaging.
This is a guided meditation journal with thought-provoking questions and beautiful design. It features motivational quotes that also double as a writing prompt, and there is ample space on the opposite page to jot down a few reflections.
I greatly appreciated the theme of "seasons," but I do wish the prompts were more clearly ordered. The prompts were separated into different sections and seemed as though they were separated by theme (i.e. Fall = change, Summer = revitalization, Spring = growing, Winter = rest). But not all prompts seemed so ordered. For example, in the "Summer" section, there was a prompt about "pushing past discomfort in order to grow." I thought this prompt belonged better in the "Spring" section. In my opinion, "Summer" prompts should be more energizing and refreshing.
Overall, the colors are just gorgeous, and found myself wishing I had a physical copy to journal in!
I'm not reviewing this book as a work of literature, but rather as a tool for wellbeing and self-care practices.
"Morning Meditations" is a very aesthetically pleasing workbook, filled with colours and very insta-friendly sections. It helps users create a routine around guided writing/journalling that many people find helpful. Most of the prompts are quite original, if compared to what you can find in other such publications.
I think many people will find working with this journal interesting and helpful, and I will be recommending it to my clients who want to start their days more grounded and couldn't tap into the practice of the morning pages or non-guided journaling.
Thank you Netgalley and Quarto Publications for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an unbiased review!
Please note, I am not reviewing this as a book/work of literature, but as a tool/workbook.
Personally, I am re-igniting my journalling habits this year, and this book was really intriguing to me. I really enjoy that there is a quote, and then also a journalling prompt for self reflection and then there is also a page of space to write. I think the one page may be too little for a journal entry, as I know when I'm feeling inspired I can take up more space - so I hope that the hard copy will perhaps have some extra pages or the ability to add more pages. The seasonal breakdown was interesting too - on one hand, I enjoy how they have seasonal themes and prompts and on the other hand, it feels restrictive. I do enjoy that the seasons tend to change us and our mentality slightly, so those prompts are very seasonally focused which are very helpful that way. On the other hand, this book starts in Spring, and so I would feel like I couldn't pick it up until Spring whereas right now, where I live, it is winter.
I love the color scheme and the messaging overall, and think it is in general a very calming feel! I may just grab a hard copy for myself :)
A very lovely way to start your day. Each day you find a meditative short reading with a thoughtful question. This book provides a way for you to start your day on the right path. Highly recommend to those that may find it hard to meditate to audio.
Morning Meditations is a beautiful book which is full of lovely messages and journal prompts. The book is split into four sections, one for each season, and each page has a inspiring message which is something to contemplate over in the mornings along with a journal prompt and a page of lines to complete the task.
The book is very pretty to look at with lovely patterns and graduated illustrations throughout the book. Some pages the words are more difficult to read because of the colour of the writing but generally it's a beautiful book that would be perfect for some self care time in the morning. This is a lovely book to spend some time with in the mornings and it would also make a great present.
This is a lovely journal that allows for both guided meditation and journaling. I found the format easy and approachable. The color and design was lovely. Each meditation was short and accessible. The journaling space was a bonus in my opinion. This is a book for self care and promoting well being.
The format of going by seasons is interesting. It is winter currently and the first section is spring, but as I was going through the entire book in one day, to review it, the seasonality wasn't an issue and I think once I own a physical copy of this book it will be easy to start the meditations in sync with the presentation.
I think this book will serve as a good starting point and helpful book for self-reflection.
Strongly recommended.
My thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing group for this digital review copy. This is my honest review.
This is a lovely book which I am trying to do each day. It is quite difficult though as its digital and to do the workbook/journal it would be lovely to have a hard copy.
the meditations set the tone for my day and so far have had a calming effect on me
Such a beautiful book - I am forever grateful that I get sent books to review and I received this in a digital version - but I definitely want to get the physical copy of this one!
I love that the book is broken down seasonally, with reflections relevant to each season, which can be started at any time of the year if you flip to the season you are currently in. Each entry contains a quote, followed by a question which asks you to reflect on something. There is plenty of space to write daily without feeling overwhelmed and the book is visually beautiful. The suggestion is that you do this reflection in the morning, which is a great way of starting your day.
This is an excellent example of a journal and would be a great place to start if you are interested in journaling for your mental health.
