Description
The Hardworking Home presents a wide range of achievable home improvements that will help you upgrade your home to better meet your needs in this shifting world.
From home office to home school to home entertaining, today’s households have necessarily become functional microcosms of society. Before the pandemic, less than five percent of full-time employees worked remotely from home. At the height of the outbreak, more than half did. And even when the dust has settled, it is estimated that at least a quarter of us will be performing our jobs from offices in our homes. Distance learning also will endure as an important educational tool. And while we back into less restrictive social distancing guidelines, it nevertheless makes sense to create a fun, vibrant atmosphere for entertaining ourselves and our guests within the safe confines of our homes.
Some of the projects in The Hardworking Home are quite simple and others require a little more DIY experience. But the overriding commonality is that they have been curated with the forward-looking filter of making our lives better, more efficient, and more satisfying in a changing world landscape. I realky enjoyed thus book. It had many things you woukd typically see in a space saving hone improvement book. However, this book was very thorough and the pictures were great. I found plenty of ideas I like and feel like this book is a great addition to anyone looking for ideas and projects to maximize space. I highly recommend it.
This book has some lovely ideas to make working from home a better experience! Making space for a home gym or a crafting area are also featured, the premise I guess being that what makes our home 'hard working' will. be a little different for everyone.
With lovely photographs throughout, it features sections on noise/acoustics, furnishings, colour scheme and lighting, amongst others.
It provides ideas on how different rooms in the home can be turned into functional work spaces.
For the DIY enthusiast, this book provides lots of projects! With clear, step. by step diagrams and instructions, it will really facilitate the change of use of rooms in the home.
`My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
