This is a lovely bright book filled with bold and colourful illustrations. I think it is a great book to teach toddlers about all the different kinds of family there are. It would be good to have in a nursery or school library.

Young readers might recognise words that describe their own family but they will also learn about other types of family too! I like how all the family members and types of family are included. There are people of different ages, genders, ethnicities, abilities and sexualities so that everyone feels included.

There is a double page for each letter of the alphabet. One page has the letter and a family related word then the other page describes the meaning of the word. Adults sometimes find it hard to explain things like this but the book shows children these new ideas and explains them clearly and simply. Readers will learn that no matter what kind of family they have it is perfect for them.

This is a fantastic book for children, which shows different types of families and how they relate to the letters of the alphabet. The book is bright and colourful, and my daughter and I loved it. It has some questions for children about their family, so it encourages discussion, and children will love the bright graphics, which show lots of happy faces of family members. I liked how the book showed same sex families and blended families, as well as other types of families, so it is inclusive for everyone. I highly recommend this wonderful book!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
