Description
This book focuses on the stories of Syrians who have found refuge in Wales, based on their own oral testimonies. They were recorded as part of a research project undertaken by Cardiff University and Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales.
Moving away from their home country has resulted in a break from their past lives and a rupture from their histories and cultures. One of the aims of the project was to help them connect their past to their present and give them a sense of belonging.
Their histories are now part of Welsh history.
Advance Praise
Home is a sanctuary, safety, settlement. A place where you feel free and can express yourself freely. This is home. Syria is my first home, but the place that offers you all these elements is your real home.’
