Closing Shift is a short piece of erotica written in the form of a fictional romance. It centers on a young lady who is torn between love and rage. Isn’t love supposed to be exciting, after all? The characters are introduced to a new realm of exploration and discovery.

Samara, working the dreaded closing shift at a restaurant has a reckless yet passionate sexual encounter with a handsome co-worker that immediately puts both of their lives at risk. Samara's jealous boyfriend will go to any lengths to assuage his wounded pride and exact revenge on her for cheating on him. Meanwhile, after the health department closes his restaurant, the owner hatches a plot to use Samara as a pawn in his attempt to exact revenge on her mysterious co-worker whom she is now dating but vying to uncover what he's hiding.

This drama is fueled by death, deceit, and desire that drive the characters to the brink of insanity. Charmaine Glass Davis provides a very in-depth telling of the narrative of Samara who must choose between two men: one with whom she has intense sexual chemistry and the other with whom she has somehow fallen in love.

This piece of writing can generate powerful feelings as each character goes through a personal transition and grows in a sensual and physical atmosphere.
