Thanks to NetGalley, Amrita Rose, and the publisher for this ARC! I enjoyed this book. It was filled with some actual concrete tips (I loved the section on cooking!) interspersed with the author's own life experiences. Some of the essays were short (half a page), but that didn't really lessen the impact or the pacing of the book. The tips at the end of almost every essay were a nice summation, and the book was organized well. I enjoyed the essays on relationships, especially the ones that emphasized the relationship with the Self, and the exercises included in some parts were helpful. Overall, a nicely written book that I enjoyed reading.
A selection of great reminders in easily digestible essays. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review.
I read quite a lot of self-help books and I have to say I savoured this one because I was enjoying it so much! The insights were relevant to my day to day light, the advice excited me and the writing kept me interested. There's so much advice that each reader will inevitably find some parts more useful than others - but I really do thing most will find a significant amount of value in this book. Congrats to the author!
I received a copy of 'No Plaid Suits' from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This is a charming, modern, how-to guide from established life and career coach Amrita Rose. Over the course of the book. Amrita gives the reader the low-down on everything from time management to improvised cooking, ending any relationship and dealing with grief. The book includes easy exercises, inspiring stories and humorous advice and asides from someone who’s been through it all.
I personally requested this book as I wanted to build more resilience and confidence, and I like my self-help on the less serious side, so this was perfect for me. Would recommend to anybody feeling like they could do with some sage advice and a good chuckle at the same time.
From start to finish this book is a handy guide for those of us that want a bit of a glow up in our lives. Full of practical suggestions and handy hints, this guide helps you to live your best life with tips on cooking, career moves and relationships to name a few. Amrita's outlook in life is fun and super positive and this really makes you want to get up and make a change. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
