Description

The perfect winter romcom for fans of CHALET GIRL and FALLING FOR CHRISTMAS!

Jen is turning thirty and has spent her entire life jumping from man to man.
So, when her latest relationship ends in disaster, she decides she needs to stop pleasing others and focus on herself. And where better to start afresh than the beautiful Canadian ski resort of Whistler?

Okay, she's broke, unemployed, and has never so much as strapped on a pair of skis - but Jen is determined to make it on her own. She just has one rule: to stay single for the entire ski season.

When a new job forces Jen into contact with snowboarding instructor Art, the two of them are set on keeping their distance. It shouldn't be hard, since they hate one another on sight - and Art knows better than anyone how to keep other people at arm's length.

The problem is, the more time they are forced to spend together, the clearer it seems that Jen's promise to stay single might not be quite so simple . . .

I love these types of books. This is always my favorite genre and many of our readers as well. Nothing bears a good romantic, cozy novel abt a newly minted thirty something especially during the holiday season. Jen and Art were great characters. I loved their storyline and how they came together. I won’t spoil too much, but a full review is on its way, I could really relate to the struggles of Arts character and what made him so withdrawn. I love how they are brought together and how their relationship develops. It felt very believable. Highly recommend.

Jen is turning 30 and has spent her entire life jumping from man to man. So, when her latest relationship ends without warning, she decides to stop pleasing others and focus on herself. And where better to do that than the famously picturesque Canadian ski resort of Whistler?

Okay, she can't ski and desperately needs to find a job fast, but it's nothing she can't handle. Her only rule is to stay single for the entire ski season.

While Jen is throwing herself into Whistler life, Art is doing his best to keep his distance from the people who remind him of everything he once lost. It's easier to live alone than to love and lose again.

When work forces Jen and Art together, the two of them are determined to keep their distance. It shouldn't be hard, since they hate one another on sight. The problem is, the more time they are forced to spend together, the clearer it seems that staying single might not be quite so simple . . .

Art and Jen are in a resort in Canada. Each one of them have their own personal issues to deal with. An interesting read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

What a gem of a book. I was very quickly drawn in to the plot and to the characters. A lovely modern day romance where the main characters sorted out past issues. This book is set in snowy Whistler with a background theme of snowboarding. There are some sweet accounts of interactions with children who are getting snowboarding lessons.

A crisp and sleek five-star read. I adored this story, it had a great pace and Jen just warmed my heart, watching her come to terms with herself and push herself physically and metaphorically and really challenge herself. Art was a special one, he seems so broken and in need of pushing himself, but sometimes you can only push yourself. Watching them grow as individuals and together made this story, but I must admit that I loved the background characters, the misfits, the staff and the pupils as well as the setting of Whistler they each tell a small part of the story. This was my first read by this author, but it wont be the last as I really enjoyed the writing style.

The story starts with Jen, a girl so desperate for love, that she's falling for all the wrong men. But the last one has given her a one way ticket to Canada for a year. Her best friend challenges her to not date for six months she sets off for Whistler where she ends up accepting a job she has no idea how to do.

Art, on the other hand, is running and trying to forget his past. After devastating injuries leaves the former Olympic hopeful chance of competing in snowboarding over, he's still haunted four years later by the death of the woman he was falling in love with.

Set against the beautiful Canadian mountains, Art and Jen are worlds apart but when work pushes them together, can they finally see that maybe their happily ever after is together? And maybe Art can finally put all his demons to bed?

Escape in to Canada's snowy mountains with a ski resort setting that brings all the heat along with the snow!
Jen's travels to work amongst the rich elite in the Premium resort gave so much entertainment and had me hooked throughout, Art's backstory and the way he looks out for Jen was very endearing and I felt the story had a good balance of tension vs passion that a strong "enemies to friends to more" story should have.
This book also has a beautiful cover that is eye-catchingly colourful and pretty.

I enjoyed this story of Jennifer's adventures during a ski season in Whistler. She is an empathetic character, as is Art, the damaged snowboarding instructor. Hopefully the employment conditions for hospitality staff in Whistler are not as horrendous as they are portrayed, although it is easy to imagine how demanding clients can be when they pay a fortune for a service. The atmosphere of a busy winter resort comes across well and there are some great supporting characters.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

This was a lovely holiday read but curled up with a blanket as opposed to lying but a pool. It made me want to visit Whistler and not be a guest in that sort of hotel!
The characters were engaging and you were willing for them to get over their issues and find their happy ever after.

I really enjoyed this book, easy to read, good story, very well written with a great cast of characters, some more likeable than others. I read it in two sittings over a very wet and dismal weekend.

Another great Christmassy feel good-read, without the need to get over slushy! (Though, can you ever get over-slushy at Christmas?)
Jen is a girl about to hit thirty, ricochetig from relationship to relationship, trying to mould herself into the perfect fit, because she doesn't want to end up alone.
After the last break up, her best friend convinces her to take some time out, to find herself, and be alone, to experience life, for at least six months.
A pre-booked trip to Canada ends up being less satisfying coupledome, and more a time to reflect on her life and what she really wants.
Which she does find out, but not before there are a whole load of shenanigans and new folk to meet! A job at a high end ski resort in Whistlers gives her plenty of food for thought.
And then there was Art. A troubled ex-Olympian, with a heartwrenching backstory of his own, as well as a journey of recovery he needs to tread.
The way their stories entwine make it a moreish read.
Now I kinda want to go and see slopes with the fresh powdery snow, but I'd be sat in a little cafe, with a hot chocolate, watching the daredevils on skis and snowboards!
There were some great characters, including Rob and Snowy, her first 'friends's as she arrives in Whistler, and ooh, there was one to hate... Eduardo!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the perfect cosy read for a cold and rainy day. There are some really heart-warming moments in the story. I think we have all wanted to run away to another country so I found myself hooked on discovering how it would end for Jen. I was also absolutely rooting for Art to find a way to heal himself and move forwards with his life.

Despite it being a pretty light-hearted read, Jen's working conditions were horrific and I hope that this isn't what life is truly like at the ski resorts for employees.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book.

Thank you for the ARC copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me this advance copy. My opinions are my own.

Jen arrives from the UK to take a HR job at a 5 star hotel in Whistler, Canada. The job falls through and she ends up working on the Platinum floor of the hotel. Her boss, Eduardo is a horrible man. She meets a handsome snowboarding instructor, Art who is closed off due to a tragedy in his past. Their relationship grows over the course of the book. I liked them and rooted for them to work through their issues throughout the story. I loved the setting of the story centering around a ski resort. The supporting characters were forgettable but served their purpose.
