The Warrior Queen

This story it is well written, the characters have depth and the story line has all the twists and turns to make it interesting without making it déjà vu.

I do love a good alien romance and Aria does an Alien romance justice. I mean she has all the awesome elements, an abduction, Terror for being trapped, misunderstanding of intentions, understanding, and most of all love. The beauty of this series is that all the women's stories intertwine so we saw Gianna in all the other previous books. We saw her story via the women's POV and now we get the whole story.

Gianna is used to men who are uncaring and who don't consider her at all. She has made a life out of a bad situation and she s not healed from that. All her action thus far is to avoid a situation of uncaring and being trapped in a situation with a man

Gianna starts very strong-willed and unable to understand. She later softens to her match and that is where the love and the real story starts

I loved the terror and the realness of what Gianna was truly feeling in that situation. I felt like the timeframe and actions of the characters seem correct to me if this situation was true.
The things I didn't love were the hair comparison and care that seemed off for a mix raced woman - didn't match real life to me.

since to me, it seemed like her race had very little to do with her situation I am not sure it needed to be mentioned as much as it was.

Overall I did enjoy this read and I am ready for Jude's story

So let me start by saying I really enjoyed this book. It has a lot of the things I like to see like, forced proximity, learning new cultures, learning from your past and so on. The world building is really good too. The only part that bother me was the first half of the book. I know it was suppose to be heavy and dark however it didn’t feel like it flowed right and kept me engaged. However, around the 40% all that changed. I became fully engaged and couldn’t put the story down. Zaan is an butt and he never stops to ask why are how can I help. He has rules to keep her safe but he doesn’t ask why she is the way she is. He never really stops to get to know Gia. Gia had/has issues and she dealt with them how she knew how. She wasn’t trying to hurt him presay but she needed to protect herself.
Most of the misunderstanding stems all from zaan. Had he took one moment and told her everything and explain this and that, and asked her questions things would have been different. I know Gia wouldn’t have told him everything but that’s why he needed to learn human culture. Which he never really does.
This book takes you through many emotions some you may not like and some may trigger you. However, in the end this author does a great job of showing how one event can change you forever and it takes a village to help you recover.
Side note I hate Gia’s father.
I have other things to say but I will spoil the book for others. Just give this one a try.
My rating for this book is 4.5 stars only because of the first half of the book and the very ending and I’m not explains because spoilers

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I’m just starting to read sci fi and fantasy books and the synopsis of this book had me really intrigued. It did not disappoint. This book follows Gianna and Zaan. Gianna is a biracial child and a fashion icon. She is victim of a terrible rape and has dealt with a lot so stress from her father who is a closeted racist. Then there’s Zaan, the high commander of the Blood Fleet. He is very Black and white with his thoughts an actions. His views imitate some views of Gianna’s father (primitive) which makes them butt heads.

What I liked about the story that it was a diverse read where an alien abducts an African American person. I liked how the story developed and progressed during the book. We get to know learn about both main characters and what contributes to making them the way they are. I now have to go back and read the first two books because I wanna know more.

This book was well written with a storyline that kept me engaged and well developed characters that were relatable and believable. I loved the romance element of the book and it wasn't a romance genre that I have read much of, but that will be changing.
The book also had a good level of mystery and twists which kept it fresh and unpredictable. It was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more by the author.

I enjoyed this book, it took a while to get into because the beginning doesn't flow very well, it feels very choppy. But once it got going I really liked it, Gia and Zann are very interesting protagonists, there are points in the book where I didn't like either of them very much but the way their arc plays out meant that those moments didn't last too long. I really liked the world that the author created and I defiantly would like to read more in the series.
