Principles of Management Essentials You Always Wanted to Know is a primer on the core roles of a manager, the new functions they must learn to perform and how they fit into the overall organizational structure. It briefly covers the highlights of each specific function a manager should be aware of, providing context and significance for each role. This book is for people aspiring to be managers or those quickly being thrust into such position, as well as managers that are trying to learn the nuances of the full extent of managerial duties.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and thought it understandable and well organized. As someone who is just beginning the management journey, I was the perfect audience for this book, and I found it to be helpful to wrap my mind around the new responsibilities and functions of a manager. The concise writing style made reading through each chapter easy and digestible. I would have liked more depth and examples for the topics and functions, but that would significantly expand the length and scope of the book. I would recommend this book to anyone starting in a management role, or an individual contributor looking to learn about the functions necessary to succeed at the next level.

An excellent reference! Although I have read numerous books on management, I found this one to contain some basic (and essential) information the other references lacked.

I will purchase a copy of this after release as it replaces numerous similar but far less helpful guides in my collection that I would not have purchased had I found this first.

A detail I find particularly helpful is the "quiz" at the end of each chapter as it greatly increased my retention of the information contained within.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this eARC.
