Wow!! I loved this book. Spanning 2 generations, story of Nancy whose Mother and Step Father were murdered by allegedly her step brother Martin who was sentenced & jailed. Throughout you get the feeling Nancy is hiding something. Told in points of view of Nancy and her Grandmother's friend, Adaline, during WWII. A real gripping story lots of twists you keep you gripped. Read it!

A great read full of twists, turns and revelations!
Nancy had a tumultuous childhood due to her mothers partner and his son snd the repercussions of this have far reaching effects!
Told in the present and the past we find out about life in sidmouth during the war years and the secrets that Nancys inherited family home may hold! A fantastic enlightening trip back in time that yields many answers and helps Nancy come to terms with her predicament and move forward and in doing so help others in need.
An intriguing read with a historical element that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Thank you netgalley fir this early read.

Gripping story with near and distant past and present cleverly interwoven to show how the secrets of the past will always come to find us. Clearly defined characters each move the story along as the truth is gradually revealed.

Absolutely brilliant. Did she do it? What did she do? These are questions that I quickly found myself asking and couldn't wait to find the answers. What I wasn't expecting was to find a whole lot more too! I loved the way it was not only focused around our main character Nancy but the house itself and travelling back in time to the house during the war and Nancy's grandmother. Full of twists and turns and had me gripped throughout right until the end!

I cannot rate this book highly enough. It is a tightly written book where words are not wasted and you are left anxiously waiting to find out what happens next. I wouldn't put it in the 'massive twists and turns' category, used so often in pre-release book hype. The author uses the end of chapter for most of the 'twists'. I would not put them in the cliff-hanger category nor in the kerb-hanger category but definitely different points in between!
There are really 3 stories in one told by switching chapter after chapter. There is the main one - woman returns to place she grew up in to develop a new life, the second is a murder story and the third is a wartime 'yarn' which naturally provides links to the present day storyline.
Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

Anything written by Jane Corry is worth reading, and I could not devour this novel fast enough. This is an intriguing novel with a dual timeline. The novel’s contemporary heroine, Nancy, decides to seek refuge in her grandmother’s house called ‘Tall Trees’, located in a quiet seaside village in Devon. Nancy hopes to find respite here from the constant media attention that has plagued her since her stepbrother murdered her mother and stepfather. However, it looks as if at ‘Tall Trees’, it is not so much the media but the past trying to find Nancy. Through the introduction of the second plot line in the Second World War, Nancy’s world starts to interlink with that of Elizabeth, who has her own story to tell ….

A truly engrossing read, I warmly recommend this novel to all fans of Jane Corry, old or new.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publishers for the free ARC that I was gifted that allowed me to read this novel and to publish this unbiased book review.

I thoroughly loved this book. The dual timeline worked a treat! The characters were absolutely amazing and the storyline kept me engaged right up until a spectacular ending!

What a great story. Set in the present, but also in the past especially during the war years. The war side of the story is quite riveting, and the characters truly believable. The present storyline about Nancy and her family was particularly poignant, but for me the characters weaved into the story from the war years is exceptional. It’s a great read and would recommend to others.

What a great read. Loved the story set in the present day and also during the Second World War. I was sucked in from the very first chapter.the story unfolded in both eras at the same time, flitting seamlessly between them, bring together the characters from both eras and their interrelationships. The storyline was very believable in both eras and very well told.

I received a free copy to review via Netgalley, below is the blurb.

I have read several books by this author and as I have said before, the books are not normally the type I would choose, however whenever I start reading one, I get hooked every time. The books although very different in there storyline follow a similar pattern of switching between 2 stories, one in present day and one set in the past, although the stories are ultimately connected. This book followed the same format, Nancy's present day story at Tall Trees and a story set during the war at Tall Trees with Elizabeth's relationships with her husband, evacuees and Mr Smith. This book did not disappoint and the writing style was familiar as soon as I started reading, in a good way! Another cracker of a book from this author, great read and I would recommend to both readers of Jane Corry and to new readers too.

Such a brilliant read set in 2 different times in the same house, one present day, one in the Second World War. As a reader you are equally excited and intrigued to read either story which makes the book unputdownable.
Brilliant writing, fantastic characters would 100% recommend

I loved the duel timeline in Coming to find you……..… present day and World War II. Each timeline has its own captivating story and are bursting with characters which are memorable.

Tall Chimneys the family home and Sidmouth are so beautifully portrayed, I felt like I had been to visit them personally.

Family tragedy leads to Nancy seeking refuge in tall chimneys hoping she will find peace and obscurity. Instead, she finds it impossible to run away from her past as it has followed her.

While dealing with her own problems Nancy uncovers secrets with have been held within the walls of tall chimneys.

This book had me captivated. I love the strong female characters each leaving their own mark as they struggled to deal with the unimaginable problems which surround secrets and murder.

Jane Corry has a great talent and this book showcase it perfectly. It’s definitely one I can wholeheartedly recommend my only problem was not being able to put it down .

This was a beautifully written and amazing story surrounding a beautiful regency house and the people who lived in the house.
The people who lived there spanned three generations and a secret they shared.
Loved it and await her next book.
Thanks net galley for giving me an early copy to enjoy.

Jane Corry is a talented writer and this book didn’t disappoint. The plot was intricate and I really enjoyed the dual timeline and narrative, which was well executed and kept pulling me in.

The atmosphere was taut and chilling, with a great sense of impending doom in the modern day viewpoint.

The setting was also vivid and despite the creepiness of Nancy’s step-brother’s obsession and the secret in her past, I enjoyed spending time in Devon at the regency house.

I’m looking forward to Jane’s next psych thriller.

With thanks to the publisher, Netgalley and author for the ARC.

Partly set during WW 11 and partly in the present day on the South coast of England this book grabbed me early on and kept me hooked throughout. Thoroughly enjoyable read and worthy of five stars. No hesitation in recommending

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review the ARC.

What a stunning book beautifully written by a talented author!
Coming To Find You is set in a beautiful coastal regency house set in seaside village in Devon (hence the beautiful cover). The setting is very picturesque and sets the scene beautifully.
There is a dual timeline in the book, one for Nancy who is hiding away from a family tragedy, the other set in 1941, Nancy's grandmother Elizabeth who took in some evacuees from London to keep them safe from the bombings. That storyline was fabulous and I wished my mother in law who was a young child evacuated from London herself was still alive so that I could buy her the hardcopy of the book. Gripping storylines, both of them and a wonderful escape murder mystery to experience.
Could not recommend this book strongly enough...

I love Jane Corry's books and really enjoyed this one with a dual timeline of the present story and the past. Nancy is fleeing a scandal and holes up at the home she inherited from her grandmother. While she is there she learns of two children who lived there during the war and begins to investigate. Both stories had me hooked and I loved the characters and the way wartime life and emotions was brought to life.
Another five stars for Jane Corry from me.

I loved this book and was sad to reach the end. Excellent historical fiction. Set in Sidmouth during the Second World War and up to the present times. Wonderful generational storyline and easy to follow. The characters are so well presented offering so many mixed emotions. Throughout there is a feeling of great sacrifice, kindness and courage. Offering a number of surprises through the book.

Following a family tragedy Nancy decides to escape the press and leaves London. She chooses to seek refuge in her late grandmother’s house, Tall Chimneys, which is situated in the quiet seaside village of Sidmouth.
But the past has a way of catching up with us and someone knows where Nancy is. Can she really escape the past? Not to mention Tall Chimneys holds many of its own secrets.

I know by now that any book by Jane Corry is bound to be a good one, so it is no surprise that Coming to Find You did not disappoint.

In this book two of my favourite genres are combined- thriller and World War II historical fiction. I read both genres often, but I have not seen them come together this seamlessly before!

As with many of Jane Corry's books, Coming To Find You is written with a dual timeline, switching between the present day, where we hear Nancy’s story and the past which follows the story of a lady called Elizabeth. Both stories were equally captivating and as the story unfolds you begin to understand the different leads and how the stories intertwine.

The characters in the book were depicted incredibly well. Both female protagonists were strong, and I enjoyed following their stories. I like that they both do actions which we would categorically call good, as well as some which we would condone, they are not clear cut which makes them more intriguing.

One of the themes in the book was around ‘silent sentences'. I found this incredibly interesting as I haven’t come across this term before, but it is the idea that when somebody commits a crime their family/friends or even victims are condemned in addition to the perpetrators. For example, they may be hounded by the press. I thought this was portrayed well and made me think about how difficult this must be for those who’s reality this may be. Other themes in the book include the changing position of women in society, relationships, forgiveness and how things which happen in our childhood can impact us as adults.

Overall, Coming To Find You had me undoubtedly captivated and I could not read it fast enough. Five stars.

Nancy’s mother and stepfather have been brutally murdered, and Martin her stepbrother accused of the crime. When the trial is finished, Nancy returns to Tall Chimneys, the old house which she inherited from her mother. She is withholding secrets from the night the crime happened, and is aware that she is in danger.
Previous inhabitants of the old house also tell their story, which is set during the second world war when Elizabeth and Adeline lived there, and for a time two young evacuees called Shirley and Maisie.
When Alex – Nancy’s ex fiancé – arrives at her home, she begins to question whether he is telling the truth about their past relationship, and who she can believe. This is a gripping, atmospheric plot told in two time frames, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages.
Elizabeth and Adeline’s story takes place during the second world war, when residents of the coastal village felt in danger of a German invasion. The book is well researched, and explores the intense threat of war experienced by everyone. Characters are relatable, and well defined – you feel that you know them. Recommended.

Present Day:
After Nancy’s stepbrother murders her mother and his father, Nancy flees to Tall Chimneys, an old boarding house on the Devon coast that belonged to her grandmother.
But the house has secrets, too, and as Nancy tries to escape the present, the past catches up with her.

1940s:
Elizabeth’s son has just signed up for the army and Elizabeth takes in two evacuated children. Elizabeth and her friend join a secret army in the aim of contributing to the war effort.

This is a dual timeline story, with Elizabeth’s and Nancy’s stories interwoven, the former taking place during the second world war and the latter taking place in the present. Tall Chimneys, the seaside family house, is the key that unlocks the two accounts.

One of Jane Corry’s strengths lies in her characterization. She creates characters who are thoroughly believable and whose stories the readers are wholly invested in. I have read many of this author’s books and found this one to be very original, blending a modern-day psychological thriller with historical fiction. Highly recommended!

The story revolves around Nancy, who after a tragedy in her family, decides to seek refuge in her grandmother's house, Tall Chimneys.

Jane Corry has crafted a well-paced and well-plotted story that keeps the reader engaged from beginning to end. The characters are well-developed, and the author has done a great job of making them relatable and likeable.

Overall, "Coming To Find You" is a fantastic novel that I highly recommend. The combination of two different time periods, a compelling mystery, and engaging characters make for a truly unforgettable reading experience. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars and can't wait for Jane Corry's next book.

So excited to get this book as I have loved all her previous books. This one doesn't disappoint. Dual timeline- WWII and present day. I loved both. No confusion. One wasn't better than another. Nancy did try my patience and I felt like shaking her at times. This wasn't knit one, purl one, this was a full on Arran jumper with multiple colours. Tall Chimneys links both threads with Elizabeth in WWII and Nancy in the present day. Reminded me a little of David Olusoga's History of a House. The house was a character in its own right. Well paced, great writing, believable characters all lead to a very satisfying conclusion Top notch and Jane Corry has now become an author I will buy without even knowing the blurb
