It is 1920 and the War of Independence is raging in Ireland.

Committed to the struggle, Jimmy MacMahon organises an ambush targeting the Black and Tans – the brutal and ruthless police reinforcements comprised of demobilised British soldiers – which leads him to take an action which will haunt him forever.

Invited to Fontebelle in young adulthood, Hannah stumbles on the secret and, as her world falls apart, she sets out to exact the only revenge she can.
