Description
Dark secrets are revealed when investigative journalist and horse expert Ben Copperfield is hired to find the long-lost heir of a dying millionaire in this gripping murder mystery.
When freelance journalist Ben Copperfield hands his business card to a woman whose runaway horse he's helped recapture, he couldn't possibly predict the events that are triggered by this simple gesture . . .
For the woman is the wife of none other than multi-millionaire horse owner and businessman Neville Manning. Manning has everything money could buy, but money can't solve his current problem. He's dying - and after the tragic death of his only child, there's no one he's willing to leave his business to. Manning has just one hope left: a grandchild, whose mother's name he doesn't even know. Ben has a reputation for solving impossible problems, and Manning's convinced he'll be able to track the child down.
With the odds stacked against him, Ben accepts the challenge and sets out to find this mystery grandchild. But little does he know that the trail to finding Manning's heir is paved with murder, intrigue and revenge . . . and it won't just be finding the heir to Manning's fortune that's the problem, it'll be keeping the child alive long enough to claim it.
With its mix of horses, dogs and fast-paced action, Bad Blood is a great choice for readers of Dick and Felix Francis, John Francome and Richard Laws, and is the perfect escape from day-to-day life.

Ben Copperfield, free-lance journalist, takes on a new assignment – find a missing grandchild. Horses, dogs, and Irish travellers. Read this book in one sitting!
This is a very good thriller with excellent characterisation and a straightforward piece of plotting, centred around dogs, horses and the travelling community. I liked the character of Ben, a free lance journalist hired to look for the grandson of a wealthy man who is dying from cancer. The pace is steady throughout and the ending was neatly wrapped up. This would make a good holiday read. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author & it won’t be the last. I was drawn to it as I enjoy other books set in the world of horses their owners & racing. I thoroughly enjoyed the book & my interest was held from cover to cover. The characters had depth & the pace was good. I really liked Ben who was tenacious & didn’t give up, there were twists & turns & all ends were tied up. Whilst not as good as some others of its genre it was a good read, which I recommend
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
A fast paced exciting thriller from Lyndon Stacey. The reader follows Ben and his dog Mouse as they follow an estranged son following a chance encounter. The search brings up all sorts of bad blood and shocking discoveries. You learn a bit about a different way of life from the travelling community to the racing stables. Highly recommended reading with excitement from start to finish.
This was a brilliant book. I just connected with this story from the very first page. I loved the pace of this book as there was never a dull moment. It was so interesting, and the characters were so different and vivid. It was brilliant to have such an array of different types of characters that certainly made for a great story. I loved how there were characters I loved to hate. My only wish was I wished there was more horse racing as I love all books horsey. This book certainly kept me entertained. It definitely had my pulse racing. It ending certainly had me at the edge of my seat. This book is extremely difficult to put down. If you love horse racing, then this book is definitely a must-read. It was that good and was only a hare's breath away from full marks.
So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such an exciting story. I can't wait to read more from this wonderful author.
