Really good read. I did like Lucy. 4*.
I was so excited to see this was available as I'd absolutely loved the last book so was keen to get stuck in! As always these books are just cleverly written, the twists and turns are things you never see coming and the things that unfold are just so so exciting to read about. I love the characters, they're human, they're realistic, they made human choices and I've gotten so invested in Lucy and her life. The suspense is built up throughout the book and not a chapter goes by that doesn't have you on the edge of your seat. You just do not see these twists coming! At all!! Even when you think you've got it all figured out, you're wrong lol. These are more than just thrillers or police procedural, it's the level of complexity and the Web that is weaves to tie all these characters together that is just masterful. I devoured this in a night and can't wait for the next installment

The book starts with a bang. The actions continues from there. The protagonist is on a level even his sister could not touch. This is book 2 of the series and can be read as a standalone. Our favorites are back along with some new characters you will either love or hate. Throw in slight romance and we have a winner.
It’s personal. A message in bodies and or body parts. It’s the perfect start to a new job.
Montserrat, an island as big as your thumbnail. Has more than its fair share of problems. Body carcasses washing up on the beaches. A head in a box at a wedding party.
Lucy Williams, newly appointed as the special officer for Interpol on the island. Has, more than her fair share of demons, and they all seem to be closing in on her once.
Acia Blood, released from prison into the custody of her. Has his own idea as to what should be going on, on what he considers as ‘his’ island. And, just who is allowed to do what. Playing with Wiliiams as a cat will paw at a toy. To ensure that what he wants actually happens.
A doctor, and surgeon. Hell bent on revenge against Williams. Again coded messages.
Just what can be done, a) to capture this maniac that is killing people at will and b) Just how to handle Acia, no he is out and back the streets.
This was my introduction to `Lucy Williams and the isle of Monserrat. And I must admit. I was quite taken.
The characters are strong, and well developed. The island provides the backdrop. Evil lurks within two or three, and all have issues with her.
I managed to read this in a couple of sittings, and it held me with each twist and turn to the plot. It was paced just right as it built towards the conclusion. I really enjoyed every page turn of this book.
