Description

Every person has a skill they want to develop, a task they want to achieve, and big or small, we look at these new skills as the building blocks of a better and more interesting future.

Still, more often than not, when we start developing new skills…we suck at them! And practicing is hard and uncomfortable and sometimes more difficult than expected.

So how do you overcome the challenges you set for yourself? How do you win a race, or perform a concerto? How do you get an A+ for an assignment? How do you go about developing the skill to cry on command, or no scope headshot in a video game, or dunk a basketball? How do you build a healthy habit, or learn a language, or pick up things with your toes?

The solution? Get Good!

Art, music, video games, sports, languages, school and university subjects, cognitive skills, professional skills, social skills, and physical skills are all categories of life that we are constantly developing and seeking growth in. Through direct and practical advice, ‘How to Get Good’ presents a way to look at your desires, assess the skills you need to achieve them, analyse your available resources, and manage them towards building your skill base and achieving what you want to achieve most.

Every person has a skill they want to develop, a task they want to achieve, and big or small, we look at these new skills as the building blocks of a better and more interesting future.

Still, more...

I love how 'to the point' this book is. In just 70 odd pages, it clearly outlines the steps required to truly 'get good' at something. Every page is full of valuable concepts with a bit of humour thrown in for good measure. A perfect guide to learning new skills or continuing to develop old ones.

I loved the illustrations and the concept that Tsoof is talking about. I feel that this book will really benefit middle schoolers because there are core work ethic principles that will guide their future towards attaining their own passions.

Truly an incredible book that encapsulates how one should best plan their priorities and maximise their progress through self-reflection, goal-setting and taking action. 'How to Get Good' transcends the personal development genre in many respects as Tsoof is able to clearly identify universal laws of desire and a concise framework that can be applied to any skill or habit. A refreshing and informative reminder on how to get what you want out of life. This book will help a lot of people."

Get Good is an insult for most people who play video games, a response to someone complaining about losing.
Oh, you lost a game where the opponent also wanted to win, then "get good" loser. Sometimes abbreviated "gg", the idea to me means "I guess you have to get better since no one will let you win".

Short and practical. Like a blog post summarizing several "how to learn books", but without the stories of the author using the steps outlined in the book.

First third of the book is introduction, honestly a good start of how the idea of "Get Good" got started, a little repetitive but a quick read. Lots of pictures and bullet points.

The book seems padded to 75 digital pages, but I read it in one sitting. Would be great for a teenager to remind them of the potential they have trapped in their future.

Fantastic book! I love that on one of the first pages it says if you don’t need to Get Good at anything then please pass this book on to someone else that does! Great lessons to be learned.

A quick read, short yet practical. I would suggest this would be a good read or teenagers or young adults just venturing into the world.

I thought this was going to be a graphic novel as it's very short. But it's a no nonsense guide for everyone to getting good in whatever is your goal or passion. I like that there's no waffle, this info is helpful for anyone who wants to learn or do something. I want to learn a language and found the tips useful. It's good to dream but dreams only take you so far, you need a realistic idea of how to get there and this guide shows you that. It also tells you how to deal with set backs. Short, to the point why can't more advice be like this.
