Description
“The photography conference simmered with talent: those who had it, those who wanted it, and those who would always suck no matter how hard they tried. Stella Price wondered where she fell on that scale.”
Stella is determined to become a successful wedding photographer, even if it means learning from Connor Knight, a wedding shooter with sexy rock star status and an ego to match.
Burned by an affair that ended her last career, Stella should know better than to get entangled with Connor during a residential course in a romantic French chateau. But while his arrogance turns her off, his talent turns her on.
Their clashes lead to a whirlwind of passion, but Stella struggles to frame a future with a man who’s come to distrust “happily ever afters” and hides a softer side behind his image. Can Stella learn from her past mistakes and teach Connor about real love before he disappears from the picture?

I loved this. The pacing of it was great - there was something more realistic about it than the romance novels I’ve been reading recently, with Stella falling first and Connor being quite a bit behind her. Stella was so likeable and I also enjoyed the side storylines so much - of Ula and Claudia especially! I loved the settings of Italy and France and the slow burn of the love story. The epilogue was adorable 🥰
This is a book I could not put down read in 1 sitting, long after my bed time. Characters were so relatable and likeable you just wanted the best. The locations were gorgeous and you really felt you were there.
That ending, without giving spoiler, one of my favourites I've read in a while!
I really enjoyed this story.
I thought that it was a nice and easy read
The storyline was well developed although it was a little slow in places and needed a push to get going but it soon picked up and it was an addictive read for me
I thought that the characters were well developed and had great personalities. It was a fun story that was romantic and sexy.
It is 4 stars from me for this one, highly recommended and a really enjoyable story!
This was such a fun read! I adored the cover and was so excited to dive into this! It was fast paced and I flew through it in one sitting. I loved the characters and felt so invested in their journeys. A must read!!
This sassy sultry Rom-Com was absolutely on fire! Perfect Rom-Com romance!
I just reviewed SHOOTERS by Julia Boggio. #SHOOTERS #NetGalley

I had to go back multiple times to make sure this was a debut novel because it was amazingly well written!
While the characters are the typical personas in a romance novel, they were also unique in their own ways. Both the FMC and the MMC are in the wedding photography business -- him being one of the best and her just starting her journey. You can tell the author has a background in photography. While it might not be everyone's interest or hobby, the author doesn't shove it in your face with too many explanations or terms you won't understand. It was done in the most subtle and sophisticated way!
You can find some amazing tropes but also a lot more in here -- PTSD representation along with occuring panic attacks, two characters that try to deny their attraction to one another, time spent in a gorgeous castle in France, a weekend getaway in hot and romantic Italy, the "I will kill him if he touches you again" (*swoon*), a hero with a Matthew McConaughey type of smirk, a heroine that is Italian and Welsh, a lot of fun side characters that each had their own fleshed out personality and much much more.
If you love Emily Henry and Tessa Bailey but want less smut (there's a lot of talk about s*x but when it comes to it it's like 95% closed door) -- read this book. The tension alone was *chef's kiss* 🤌🏻.
Seriously, pick this book up. I can't believe it's not more popular!
Such an entertaining read with one of the most organic characters I've ever read. I mean seriously, I'm convinced Stella is a real person
In SHOOTERS, Stella Price decides to start a career in wedding photography after an affair ends her former career as an advertising copywriter. In hopes to kick start her career, she travels to France to study photography under the tutelage of Connor Knight, aka the best in the game. Stella's life turns into a whirlwind of eccentric clients, strong women, and extremely attractive photographer who captures her heart.😏
I absolutely loved the character Boggio created. Stella is so real. I mean, this might be the realest character I've ever read in a book. The amount of personality and traits she gave her character made me so happy, especially because so many characters nowadays just follow an archetype. Stella had many strengths along with flaws which made her feel so human. I am truly impressed.
The only thing holding me back from giving this book 5 stars would be the ending. For a book that gave so much depth to its characters, the problems between Stella and Connor felt so brushed off. It felt somewhat rushed and left me with some hesitancy over how strong the relationship really is, a feeling you don't really want at the end of a romance book.
Overall, this book felt fresh and really satisfied me after reading a string of romance novels that had basic characters with a predictable story line. I laughed, I swooned, and I felt genuine second hand embarrassment. I hope this book goes viral so it gets the hype it deserves.
What a enjoyable reading experience this was. I believe this is Ms. Boggio’s debut novel and if so, she has written the ultimate money shot. When her marketing career blew up under the most deplorable conditions, Stella Price turns to wedding photography to turn her life around. Considering herself lucky to secure a spot in a course taught by master photographer, Connor Knight in France, she forges forward with her new career aspirations. Stella has just come off a disastrous affair with her married boss which ruined her former career and she has no intention of getting involved with another man.
Connor is a known womanizer and a major commitment-phobe, but Stella finds herself strongly attracted to him and it seems the feeling is returned. Their attraction carries over back into their real lives as they meet up at the wedding shoot from hell that Stella contracted through her house cleaner.
I was greatly pleased with this book and the author’s writing which flowed so smoothly from chapter to chapter. Almost from the start I was cheering for Stella and Connor even though it seemed their differences were too much to overcome. The supporting cast of characters were perfect and entertaining in all the right spots and added much to this delightful rom-com..
Many thanks to the publisher, Books Go Social, and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I gave it four stars!
This cute and sassy romance was to die for! This book followed Stella as she transitions from pharmaceutical marketing to photographing weddings. She enrolls in a course by a renowned wedding photographer, Connor Knight. Not only is he great at what he does, but he’s also devilishly handsome. She fights her attraction for him while learning all the tips and tricks of how to be the best wedding photographer.
This book was so well crafted. I felt like everything was well balanced: the world building, the character development, and the plot line. I fell in love with characters and how real everything was. This romance was not just something you’d find in a book, but could be easily found out in the world as well! I cannot wait to read the next book Julia puts out about Krish’s love adventures!
Thanks so much to NetGalley and HBM Publishing for allowing me to have an ARC of this novel!
I loved 'SHOOTERS'! I really enjoyed the writing style of Julia Boggio, and you can tell that she used alot of her expertise from being a photographer. You can really tell when an author knows firsthand how something is done in their books vs. hypothetically knowing how it will go.
Shooters is the kind of book that I want to pick up on an easy saturday when I just want to read a book that i know that I'll enjoy. It ias everything I want in a chick-lit books, fun, flirty, and such great chemistry!
I felt like the main character, Stella was a relatable protagonist who's point of view was easy to follow. The relationship between Stella and Conner was one that was truly swoon-worthy! I enjoyed that the chapters flowed smoothly between each other, and I though that the cast was very entertaining and developed perfectly.
Thank you to the publisher, Books, Go Social, and to NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion!
This was a quick, light, fun read. Stella is so relatable in many aspects. Loved the growth she experienced to ensure she would never find herself in the same embarrassing spot she started the book at and the lengths she went to guarantee her profess. The ending felt a bit rushed to give readers the happy ending but overall this was a great experience! Thanks to NetGalley and publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review.
"Not only had he helped her reclaim her song, he was now giving it a whole new meaning for them."

I am so glad I stumbled upon this book in the Read Now section of NetGalley.
I absolutely loved everything about it: its raw and real characters, its not so obvious love story, and the delicate way in which it deals with very important themes such as mental health and slut-shaming.
Like I said, I found this book by pure chance... but now I think it was the book that found me... like it was just meant to be.
Ps: I am Italian... so, I freaking loved all the Italian idioms used by the author in this book. Grazie to the author for writing such a meraviglioso book!
Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The main character Stella has such relatable thoughts which makes her feel more real and 3 dimensional. This was the longest slow burn but in the best way possible. Also who doesn’t love a romance novel set in Europe!
Set in the world of wedding photography, Julia Boggio's rom-com debut is pacy, funny and full of sexy sizzle
Stella Price's last romance went so spectacularly and publicly wrong that she's had to change careers. Keen to start over as a wedding photographer, she still believes in love and marriage. Connor Knight is a man who has it all -- superhero looks, the best reputation in wedding photography, money, fame, awards galore and a Scandinavian model always hanging off his arm -- but he doesn't believe in happily ever afters.
Of course, the sparks fly immediately between these two, when Stella books a week's residential course in a French chateau to learn everything she can from The Master, and it's not long before Mr Knight is getting a necessary lesson in the true meaning of love.
Stella is vulnerable yet feisty. Connor is over-confident but caring. And they are both surrounded by a marvelous cast of supporting characters. I've got a real soft spot for Stella's chaotic friend Claudia, Connor's wonderful assistant Krish and the terribly posh but very sweet photographer, Magnus Fiennes.
The scenes shine with wit, and there are predicaments aplenty, especially on the Big Day, when the photographers often bring more drama than the bride and bridegroom. I absolutely loved it -- from the big set-piece scenes to the quiet, emotional moments. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
This was incredible!
I read this book in one afternoon, I just couldn't put it down. I laughed, I cried, I even gasped at one point!
The chemistry between Stella and Connor was amazingly written and I think Stella might be one of my most favourite heroines ever, she was so real and flawed and it was a joy to read.
Liliwen deserves a sordid mention just for being a fabulous character, although I did find all of the supporting characters great in their own ways. I'm looking forward to the next book, especially as its about Krish.
I'll be swooning over Connor until then though!
This was a fun and entertaining read. It's a breath of fresh air from many romance novels which are predictable and generic. The ending felt a little rushed and that is my reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars.
After ending her previous career with an affair with her boss, Stella decides she wants to become a wedding photographer. She tactfully forces her way into a course in a French Chateau with none other than the attractive Connor Knight, who also happens to be one of the best wedding photographers. He is also a player and Stella knows it's a bad idea to become romantically involved with him, but she just cannot resist. I absolutely loved all the characters in this novel and Stella was very relatable.
I really hope this author and this book get recognized! It looks like she has another book coming out in the fall and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy.
Thanks to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
This was such a fun read for me! With my background in photography, I really appreciated the glimpse into the exciting, stressful, and sometimes unbelievable world of wedding photography. (I was never brave enough to tackle that challenge!) It was such a fun backdrop for this cute romance!
Stella Price is new to the world of wedding photography after a bit of a forced career change. She secured a coveted spot at a photography workshop in France, taught by world-renowned (and seriously handsome) wedding photographer Connor Knight. An attraction blossoms between the two, but their pasts and reputations keep them from diving in deep. Things get even more complicated when they return home to the real world.
I thought the characters were very well-developed and super relatable. All of them were realistically flawed, which made them more fun to read about for me! Even the side characters were awesome… I LOVED Liliwen. She was hilarious! The romance was super sweet. And overall the writing had a great flow, was very witty, and had lots of pop culture references that I very much enjoyed. This really was a fun one!
Thank you to publisher BooksGoSocial and @netgalley for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This book is a testament to pursuing what you love rather than what people think you should. Stella herself admitted that she is a people pleaser but only when she starting asking herself what would she say and what she would do is when her career and love life took off. She played to her strengths as a wedding photographer especially during her course in Italy. Yes, she was taken advantage of by her horrible boss Nathan but she ultimately realized that she couldn't keep blaming herself. She was not Jolene. This book really picked up and I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions with Claudia, Magnus and Connor. The love between Connor and Stella was evident and I am glad she put herself out there. A great book.
Stella is needing a change after a disastrous run in with her Boss’ wife, effectively ending her Advertising career.
While at a Photography conference, Stella meets hot-shot Connor Knight. A well known ladies man who doesn’t believe in marriage, while being an award winning Wedding Photographer.
After catching feelings for Connor during the week long photography workshop in France, Stella must figure out how to move on from her past mistakes for the future she’s always wanted.
Shooters is your classic Rom Com that reads like a lighthearted movie. You can’t help but want to root for the FMC and hope she can change the MMC into someone who believes in commitment.
With a slew of hilarious side characters, (Liliwen might be my favorite character ever) beautiful European locations and a Dolly Parton themed grand gesture, Shooters is a great, easy read. While being slightly predictable in some parts, there was still a wonderful story that kept me engaged.
I really enjoyed this debut novel from Julia Boggio. This is a wonderfully slow burn with very little spice. I’d say it’s one step farther than “closed door”. I would recommend this book to my friends and I look forward to reading more from this author.
Shooters grabbed my attention with its synopsis: a newbie wedding photographer falling for the rock star (and arrogant) photographer of the stars + comedy + set overseas? Yep, yep, and yep. And while Shooters most definitely had all of those things, it had a little bit more too.
As the synopsis indicates, Stella is seeking a new career after her previous one blew up in her face. It's a career she has an affinity for and has dreamt of doing for a long time and so even though she enjoyed being lauded for her creative ideas, this seemed like a good change for her. It becomes immediately clear that she's working through some things...things that cause her incredible stress and can even immobilize her, if she's having a particularly rough moment. Not something she enjoys or wants witnesses to; so you can imagine her humiliation when Connor, Mr. Photography, finds her in mid panic attack. It sucks.
Fast forward through a series of funny events and we soon find Stella at Connor's weeklong photography course, where she's vacillating from lusting after Connor and being extremely frustrated by him. This push and pull goes on for quite a while, even after the course has ended. They keep running into each other and either have heated exchanges or try to freeze the other one out. It makes from some funny and, at times, frustrating moments.
Ultimately, Stella works through some of the cause of her stress and Connor works through his commitment-phobia and we finally get to see them together, getting the HEA every romance reader hopes for.
This book was a much faster paced read than I expected it to be, and I found it quite entertaining. The characters, especially Stella, are all likeable and relatable. I laughed, cried, experienced new places, and more throughout this story. I felt it wrapped up well and didn't leave me grasping for more or wanting a sequel. All in all, I enjoyed this one.

My Opinion
This is an enjoyable and different reading experience. Stella Price is eager to start a new career as a wedding photographer and when she is recommended by her friend her new business venture might get off to a better start than she could have imagined. This book flows very well and I was rooting for Stella and Connor from the start even thought they get off to a rocky start.
I believe that this is a debut novel but you wouldn't know it. The characters had so much depth. A lovely, must-read debut novel from Julia Boggio!
Rating: 4/5
4.25 - I found this book highly enjoyable, it was a fantastic mix of hilarious and heartwarming in the perfect balance. Stella was a character you could connect with right from the start and I really liked the anxiety and ptsd representation here too. Was it perfect, no but I didn't feel like it needed to be, it fit really well into the book's general light hearted nature. The attraction and allure of Connor was also understandable from the beginning and I loved their early interactions.
The secondary characters were all amazing, so funny and dimensional; I was truly interested in the interactions with them and nothing felt like a filler moment. Both the main and secondary characters are written so well, they are all multifaceted and feel very real. Stella really found a wonderful and organic circle of friends throughout the story and I think that it was so good for her too. I loved how her character develops through the book, her self-confidence and backbone grow and really are crucial to her success, both emotionally and career wise. I also found that the photography aspect was woven into the writing really well, you didn't need to know anything about the field before and it was wasn't a technological info dump either. It was a very interesting aspect of the story and definitely a cool setting for the romance.
The chemistry and tension between Stella and Connor was great, I also thought the pacing of their development was good. I liked seeing the side of Connor that came out with Stella and his jealousy too! My only reason for this not being 5 stars is that I think the ending was slightly too fast in comparison to the rest of the book. Spoiler warning- I felt that it went from the start of a relationship with someone who fears commitment to a quite sudden HEA. But it didn't detract majorly from the plot or the enjoyment I got from reading this.
I really liked reading Shooters and finished it in one sitting, I would highly recommend to any rom-com lovers.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars
I actually really enjoyed this book. A book about wedding photographers with a touch of forbidden, bad timing, and some slow burn angst. writing wise it was very engaging and got me hooked from the beginning. I actually liked how our FMC, Stella isn’t your typical heroine. She’s flawed and can be irrational but hey she’s human. Connor was okay but I wasn’t feeling him much until *spoilers* his grand gesture. I do think the book is actually a bit lengthy and could have benefitted a bit more if it was a tad shorter. All in all, I can see it as a book you read on a lounge by the beach.
I picked this one just from its fun cover and I was pleasantly surprised with what was inside!
Stella is starting a new career as a wedding photographer after being shunned for her affair with her married boss. Even though she is flawed it was refreshing to see a “not-so-perfect” FMC who turns her life around. I loved that she found her confidence and was able to stand her ground with her ex later in the book.
While the side characters were great, Stella deserved a better bestie! Claudia was selfish and wasn’t there when Stella needed her. Loved the Ab Fab vibes! And Connor…WOW, enough said!
I loved all the traveling in this book…I felt like I was right there learning the ropes of wedding photography. It was nice to see her blossom into this new career even though her first wedding job was a hot mess!
This was a fast and easy read. I felt like her first job was a little drawn out and the ending was a little rushed. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

Is there someone searching for a wedding photographer rom-com with thumb wars? This is the book you're looking for.
I love this story! Throughout reading the story, I can feel the author's passion for photography and how she described the photography session in the story is so vivid. Stella's struggles and commitment for photography somehow challenged my list-to-do freelancing job or any kind of job.
The storyline overall is enjoyable except for some parts that are a bit draggy but it's okay it doesn't really matter when you're too into the story. The author made the encounters natural but funny at the same time. It doesn't look forced or cliche at all. It wasn't a heavy story which I liked. I see some parts that need to polish more but since it's a romcom, it's forgivable. I love how the characters are portrayed in the story. Everyone has their own purpose even though they just a minor character. And they all have their own unique personalities to make them special in their own way.
There's just one thing that can be improvised which is putting translations for any additional languages. I want to know what they are talking about without me going back and forth browsing in google translate. It's ruining the experience of my reading progress.
Wedding photography provides the perfect backdrop for a romcom and Shooters did not disappoint!
The highly anticipated moment of connection between Stella and Connor is where Boggio shines - really emphasising that dramatic tension and bringing it to a satisfying conclusion.
Shooters is funny and uplifting - the perfect escape!
After Stella’s earlier career ended due an affair, she is determined to make a success at being a wedding photographer. To do so, she must learn all that she can from Connor Knight, a wedding shooter with sexy rock star status and an ego to match. Yet despite their clashes, they soon find themselves involved, and Stella must decide whether she can actually trust him, or whether there is more to Connor than his public image.
A great debut novel with plenty of great characters, all with their unique personalities. Stella was a very realistic with flaws like all of us possess and she tries, if not always successfully to address her issues. I enjoyed how these two characters developed as the story progressed, but I did wish that their relationship could have been further explored.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is such a fun read! A sexy, sassy delight. I loved Stella and the insight into the joy and chaos of the wedding world. Some big, memorable characters (my queen Liliwen!!) who were super well realised. I laughed and I swooned.
"The photography conference simmered with talent: those who had it, those who wanted it, and those who would always suck no matter how hard they tried. Stella Price wondered where she fell on that scale.”
The story begins with Stella Price at a photography conference. She's determined to learn as much as she can about wedding photography - her brand new career choice. She had to make an abrupt change after her last job ended with an affair and public humiliation.
Stella is determined to "discover her potential" with Connor Knight. He's a world-renowned wedding photographer offering a one-week course at a French Chateau. When she narrowly misses out on securing her spot, she has to get creative to earn her way in. He's the best and failure is not an option.
What follows is a super enjoyable journey of self-discovery and romance, with beautiful European settings. The author said this book is a love letter to the photography industry and I definitely felt it. But you don't have to have knowledge about the subject to enjoy this book. I know close to nothing about photography so it was new and interesting to me. My favorite parts of the book were the weddings and receptions. We get to meet a wide array of side characters and eccentric clients. I loved Stella with all her flaws and her determination to better herself. I also loved Connor and wish we could have gotten some of his POV.
Lastly, I LOVE Dolly Parton and so does the author ❤️ She's referenced several times and I loved it so much 🎶
I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend! {Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for allowing me access to an eARC in exchange for my honest review}

Absolutely yes yes yes! This book gives you all the right vibes, such a wonderful read for sure! No doubt a lot of people will read this over and over again
Having been a wedding videographer, I just had to read this one. It's brilliant.
If you follow Julia Boggio on social media, it will come as no surprise to discover that this book sparkles. It's as much fun as she is - well, almost.
With a believable plot and characters, it's hard to believe that this is a debut. I'll definitely be on the lookout for other books by this author.
Thanks for the ARC.
I really enjoyed this one! I loved that it was set in the UK as most seem to be set in the US and enjoyed seeing the relationship between the two main characters developed. Stella was a fab main character - I really enjoyed her character arc and she was actually funny! There was enough tension between her and Connor but didn’t go into the detail of the sex scenes. I didn’t mind this and don’t feel like the book lacked because of this. The side characters were also great - Lilliwen is my spirit animal. Loved her!!
this is a cute book and a fun read

Shooters is the perfect romantic comedy that will pull you out the blahs. I loved the character development, dialogue, plot, and the steamy factor.
I loved this book. From Stella finally finding her voice after a terrible choice that she made, but that choice helped her find photography, which truly is her passion. Along the way Stella meets Conner the handsome playboy photographer.
I wanted to do nothing else but read this book and find out how it ends. When it did end I wanted more of the characters.
Thank you #NetGalley for the advance copy
I loved this book so much.Stella was such an amazing character with a realistic personality that made me believe she was real.I was rooting for Stella and Connor from the start and was so happy with how it ended
Such is a unique book! Really enjoyed it, this book captivates with its unparalleled creativity and leaves an indelible mark on the reader's imagination."
This is a must read, feel good, laugh out loud, have a bit of a sob, cheer on the heroine, learn Italian, sing along with Dolly Parton, great romantic comedy, brilliantly told.
Such a fun and funny romp that felt like a perfect romantic comedy. Easy and light and super enjoyable. Had a great time.
Shooters (The Photographer's Trilogy #1) is Julia Boggio's debut novel & the 1st book in what is to be a 3 part series.
This romcom is teeming with hilarious and colorful supporting characters & the focus isn't solely stuck on romance for the entirety of the book. I found myself laughing out loud during the outlandish situations Stella found herself in while photographing weddings. I love the witty banter & sparks that fly between Stella and Connor and how they butt heads, but keep coming back for more. The Dolly Parton elements were the cherry on top of this sweet confection of a read. I absolutely loved it! 😍
A fab read!!! I read it all in one go.
The perfect light and comical book to add to your summer tbr.
I really liked this one, I'm currently tly planning my mums wedding so it appealed more than it normally would.
I liked watching Stella live out her dream and start a whole new career as a photographer after making some wrong decisions in the past.
I enjoyed the banter and relationship between Stella and Connor. And Connor is 🔥🔥 I need to find a mentor like him.
I always wanted to go into photography myself, and this has given me the motivation to revisit that wish. I'm looking up local courses as we speak... thank you, Julia.
Will definitely read more from this author 😀
"Shooters" by Julia Broggio takes readers on a charming and witty journey through the world of wedding photography, adding a delightful twist of romance and humor to the mix. With engaging characters, a picturesque setting, and a storyline that captures the essence of love and redemption, this rom-com is a delightful read.
Stella Price, the determined protagonist, is a character many readers can relate to. Her aspiration to succeed in her chosen field, despite past setbacks, adds depth to her character.
When she crosses paths with the charismatic but enigmatic Connor Knight, sparks fly, and the chemistry between them is palpable. Broggio brilliantly portrays the push-and-pull dynamics of their budding romance, replete with witty banter and undeniable attraction.
The photography conference setting adds a unique and fresh backdrop to the story, providing insights into the world of wedding photography and the pursuit of artistic excellence.
Broggio's descriptive writing paints vivid pictures of the romantic French chateau, making readers feel like they're right there, savoring the sights and sounds of this idyllic location.
One of the strengths of "Shooters" is its exploration of the characters' flaws and their journeys towards personal growth. Stella's past mistakes and Connor's reluctance to embrace
"happily ever afters" make them both relatable and endearing. Watching them navigate their vulnerabilities and gradually opening up to each other is a heartwarming experience.
The humor in this rom-com is sharp and well-timed, providing genuine laughs throughout the story. Stella's internal monologues and Connor's witty comebacks add a layer of authenticity
to the characters' interactions, making them feel like real people dealing with the complexities of love and life.
While "Shooters" is a delightful read, it falls just short of a perfect score due to some moments of predictability in the plot. The formulaic elements that occasionally surface
are a minor distraction in an otherwise engaging narrative. However, the strength of the characters and their chemistry more than compensates for these minor hiccups.
In conclusion, "Shooters" by Julia Broggio is a charming and heartwarming rom-com that captures the essence of love, redemption, and personal growth. With relatable characters, a
picturesque setting, and moments of genuine humor, it's a book that will leave you with a smile on your face. While it doesn't break entirely new ground in the genre, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for an enjoyable and entertaining read.
Julia Boggio's "Shooters" captures the essence of passion, redemption, and the pursuit of dreams in the competitive world of wedding photography. Set against the backdrop of a photography conference brimming with talent and ambition, the novel introduces us to Stella Price, a determined photographer with a haunting past and a fervent desire for success.
The opening line immediately sets the tone for the story, highlighting the complexities of the characters within the photography world. Stella's journey is both relatable and inspiring as she navigates the challenges of her career, haunted by the echoes of a past affair that derailed her professional life.
The dynamics between Stella and Connor Knight, the sexy rock star of wedding photography, add layers of tension and chemistry to the narrative. Boggio skillfully navigates the fine line between attraction and conflict, creating a whirlwind of passion that propels the story forward. The clash of personalities between the strong-willed Stella and the egoistic yet talented Connor is both entertaining and emotionally resonant.
The romantic setting of a French chateau adds a touch of magic to the narrative, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the story. Boggio's descriptive prose brings the lush surroundings to life, creating a visually rich backdrop for the unfolding romance.
Stella's internal struggle to frame a future with a man who hides a softer side behind his rock star image adds depth to the storyline. The exploration of trust, redemption, and the possibility of finding love after heartbreak gives the novel a heartfelt and emotional resonance.
While the plot follows some familiar romance tropes, Boggio infuses freshness and authenticity into the narrative. The characters are well-developed, and the pacing keeps the reader engaged throughout. The story gracefully addresses themes of self-discovery and second chances, making it more than just a typical romance novel.
Readers may find some elements predictable, but the overall execution and the character-driven narrative make "Shooters" a compelling and enjoyable read. Boggio's ability to blend passion, romance, and redemption creates a story that transcends the boundaries of a traditional love story, making it a worthy addition to the genre.
In conclusion, "Shooters" is a captivating exploration of love, ambition, and the complexities of the human heart. Julia Boggio's skillful storytelling, coupled with well-drawn characters and a picturesque setting, makes this novel a delightful and emotionally resonant read for fans of contemporary romance.
Shooters is Julia Boggio's debut novel, a great one at that! The tension between Connor and Stella was *chef's kiss*. It was difficult for me to put the book down! Stella is a hilarious fmc, the situations she often found herself in were so laughable. Connor is just so sexy. Would I read it again? Yes. Overall, 4/5 stars.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I did not like the cover, but I did like the characters and the storyline. I enjoyed the growing tension but it seemed to take a little long for me. I will read more by Boggio in the future since this is her debut book.
This was a very good book. I enjoyed reading it. The characters and plot kept me interested. I would read another book by this author.
Wow, what a great book! It was so engaging and kept me turning pages until the very end! I highly recommend it to fellow readers!
BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'Shooters' by Julia Boggio.
This book is an absolutely gorgeous read filled with sexiness, fun, laughter, romance, comedy, drama, sass, friendship and everything you could ever ask for in a brilliant romcom and more!! This book is a real pick me up and will definitely turn any frown upside down!! It captured my attention from the very first page and kept me glued to the pages until the very last word and definitely left me wanting more!! I am so pleased that this book is just the first book in Julia's 'The Photographers' trilogy as I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book already!! The next book is called 'Chasing The Light' and is actually available now so guess what i am off to do as soon as I have typed this up!! Julia's fantastic writing skills and vivid descriptions will put the reader in the spotlight along with Stella ensuring you see and feel everything that she is while enjoying a French retreat with her! I was absolutely mind blown when I realised that this is actually Julia's DEBUT novel as it is written as if it is her 100th!! If this is what she came up with for her debut then I cannot wait to see how this series continues on!! This is one of those fantastic books that is perfect to read anywhere and everywhere from curled up next to a roaring fire to sunning yourself on a beach as regardless of where you are Julia will whisk you away with the storyline!! I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting as there was no way I could put it down!! Each and every time I even thought about it to get some actual house work done the characters called me back to demand their attention!! The chapters are very short which is ideal to pick up and read a few here and there whether on a break or on a bus, the problem is trying to put it down!! The best way to describe this fantastic feel good book is what you would get if you took the movies 'Bridesmaids' and 'Dirty Dancing', shook them up and put them in one absolutely stunning book together!!! Be warned to stay away from hot drinks while reading this as there are so many laugh out loud moments that, if you are anything like me, you will actually end up with a coffee fountain after making the mistake of drinking it while reading and coming across an absolutely hilarious moment!! One of the things I really enjoyed about this storyline is that it is unique to me as I had never read a book where the protagonist is a photographer up until now and I was absolutely fascinated in everything that goes on in the photography world! An absolutely brilliant read that will make your day brighter!
Clear your schedules and grab the tissues as you get lost in this laugh out loud, addictive page turner!!
I absolutely loved the larger than life, unique and just fantastic characters and am so hoping that they will continue to make appearances in this trilogy!! Thanks to Julia's fantastic descriptions it truly feels like you are right next to Stella, the protagonist, throughout. I absolutely loved Stella who is very relatable, down to Earth and suffers with anxiety which many readers may relate to. I was rooting for her from the very second I met her and all the way through the book! I loved watching her personality and confidence change and develop from the start to the finish and seeing her "blossom" would probably be the best way to describe it. All of the characters are unique with their own personalities, flaws and strengths and I loved meeting and getting to know them all. So many of them deserve to have their own books written about them which I would love to see come to life, hint hint Julia! The only downfall with the characters is that they are entirely fictional even though Julia brings them to life unfortunately, no matter how much I would love to, I am unable to go on a girls night out with them!! I was completely invested in them all throughout and I was gutted when the time came to say Goodbye but I am hopeful that I will meet them again in future books in this promising trilogy! Julia does an absolutely amazing job of bringing the story to life and the characters leap out of the pages as your turning them thanks to her evocative writing skills!! Julia really has done an amazing job at bringing each of the characters to life and I enjoyed getting to meet them all!!
Clear your schedules as this is one gorgeous and unputdownable stunner ❤️
Overall an absolutely gorgeous book that will sweep you away, make you laugh and warm your heart ❤️!!!
