Susan Merson is simply an interesting writer. Interesting, nay, fascinating on the level of words, images, syntax, but interesting also in writing pivotal moments in personal relationships. She’s deft at probing social issues. Her work is poised but underlying that is passion and a commitment to talking about political shifts of our time. I get tremendous enjoyment because Susan Merson knows writers need to beguile their readers and she never fails at that.
5.0 out of 5 stars Women, grief, and the current political landscape

A wonderful read, filled with lyrical prose and a voice deep and thoughtful. As a woman of our time, Anna has to adapt to the changing political world and her place in it, while coping with the death of her husband and the loss of her disconnected son. She travels from Maine to India, in search of herself.
5.0 out of 5 stars A really good read!

This is a most engaging book, with lyrical writing, relevant ideas, and a story you don’t know. Political and personal all at once. Really well done!
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this writer

I will read anything this writer writes — her style is anti-genre (an all-too-rare occasion nowadays), her voice is lyrical while being accessible and I feel like I am in the characters' heads as they think and behave. She writes about such interesting situations and predicaments that I — that we ALL — can always relate to. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next; it will be like no other writer's creation in the world!
