A great new series from an author who has made this age group her very own territory. It is full of adventure, friendship and making new friends. Fantastic for the 7-9 age group.
This will appeal so much to my younger and less fluent readers. Set in the familiar setting of a school, the young mermaids negotiate the tricky process of getting to know each other and selecting the dolphin that will become their partner. I loved the mixture of different characters from the bold Isla to the less confident Cora. There is bound to be someone that each child can relate to. The description is vibrant and rich and the accompanying illustrations bring everything together.
This feels like the start of a series of books as there have been clues and hints as to a deeper mystery which is yet to be solved. I can't wait to share this with my class and will be keeping my eyes peeled for more by these authors.
