"An exciting and engaging account by the journalist Bizzie Frost of her adventures on a motorcycle around Saudi Arabia and surrounding countries. Unputdownable!" - Amazon review
After a botched spinal operation left her partially paralysed aged forty-five, Bizzie Frost found herself unable to enjoy the active lifestyle she loved in Saudi Arabia. That was remedied six years later when her airline captain husband, Frosty, proposed they buy a Harley-Davidson. An invitation to join friends on a 2,500km ride to Oman was irresistible and they bought a customised Road King. They named her Maridadi, meaning 'beautiful' in Swahili.
Travels with Maridadi is an epic account of their adventures on Maridadi in Saudi Arabia, a country rarely visited by outsiders during the thirty years that Bizzie called it home.
Riding pillion with Frosty, she travelled thousands of kilometres across the deserts and mountains of the Kingdom, as well as other Middle Eastern countries. Her stories and photographs breathe life into the scenery, people and culture of the Kingdom, and convey the freedom and healing power of motorcycling on the open road.

"What an amazing read - I couldn't put it down. It is certainly not just a travel book, nor just a biking book, but a very personal journey. Bizzie writes as though she is talking to you and covers the biker atmosphere, culture, and emotions of living in KSA as an expatriate woman."
"Love this book! Beautifully written and very informative, especially on the history of the Middle East! I am not a biker but have so enjoyed the freedom and the joy evoked by Bizzie's writing! A brilliant book full of adventure, drama, and joy!"
"Bizzie writes as if she's speaking to you. I've loved the stories, biker tales and the cultural descriptions and I felt like I'd been on part of the journey with her when I finished. Fascinating and such a lesson in saying YES to adventures."

After being left handicapped after a botched surgery Bizzie Frost was left frustrated by the lifestyle she was forced to lead due to the surgery and couldn't enjoy the active lifestyle she once enjoyed. Her husband suggested they buy a motorcycle in order to travel around the country as an activity they could enjoy together. They bought a Harley Davidson and called her Maridadi.
This book is an account of the adventures on Maridadi, not only through Saudi Arabia but also through other countries in the Middle East such as Oman, Syria, Lebanon, etc. On these travels, she rode pillion on the back of her husband's motorcycle.
The author did a great job of describing the journey and did not only put in the "nice" experiences of their adventures but also the difficulties they found themselves in. I also loved that the histories of places visited was mentioned.
