Power in Mind is a romantic thriller about justice and human rights. Protagonists Alesandre and Lina, lovers and soulmates, are forced into a dangerous journey from which there is no turning back. They must discover who she really is before Andras, the man who claims to be her 'true' father, catches up with them. He will stop at nothing to steal the secret hidden in Lina's genetic code and control her, to satisfy his appetite for power.

Their quest takes them from Panama to Montenegro, into the heart of enemy territory, where they must interpret papers written by Lina’s murdered parents to free her from the danger that her genetic code has put her in. But even then, their trials are not over. Their tormentor will never give up. In partnership with a monster whose powers match Lina’s, Andras plans a series of psychic tests which will draw her to them. Unaware of the unusual gifts she possesses, Lina is quick to discover that these powers alone will save her and countless others. In the final battle of minds, she stands to lose everything – her life, her soulmate and lover. Even her soul itself.

“I am interested in what it means to be human and exploring, as well as how people behave, what they can do and why. Power in Mind played in my head in various forms until one day I decided to write it down. While it is dark in places, it has enough light and beauty to leave the reader feeling optimistic and motivated to make the world a better place for everyone,” says Susanne, behind her motivation for the book.

Married with two boys, a dog and two pet rats, Susanne Burge is a medical doctor working in general practice and radiotherapy in the West Country. She has a passion for music, playing the cello and piano, and enjoys swimming, cycling, walking and reading.
