Description
The mountains are dangerous . . .
But their secrets are deadly
A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT…
Four friends go to the Alps on a boys’ skiing holiday. But their trip is cut short when one of them falls to his death.
Zoe travels to France with Ivy to collect Tom’s body. While Zoe is consumed by grief, Ivy starts to question everything.
OR COLD-BLOODED MURDER?
The slope Tom fell from wasn’t dangerous, and tensions between the group were at breaking point in the days before his death.
But if Ivy’s suspicions are correct, Tom was killed by one of his closest friends. And they are still in the chalet…

This was an excellent thriller which kept me hooked from start to finish. I loved the writing style. I also liked all the characters so found it hard who to trust which kept the mystery going through out.
Ivy receives a visit from Zoe her old best friend at university they haven’t been best friends since night of Zoe’s 21st birthday after Zoe accused Ivy of something unimaginable. So Ivy is shocked when Zoe tells her that her husband has died while on a ski trip with their old gang of university friends. Zoe then asks Ivy to go with her to collect Tom from France Ivy refuses she can’t leave her son. But Zoe needs Ivy and is very good at getting what she wants. When they arrive in France Ivy starts to question Toms death could he really have just fallen or was he pushed. How much danger is Ivy in with these people she hasn’t seen in 15 years.
This was a fast paced thriller with all the characters having secrets. There was lots of twists and turns with an ending which made me gasp really wasn’t expecting it. Highly recommend this to everyone.
It seems that I have a thing for mysteries set in ski resorts! I read a few a couple of years ago and loved them, and I really enjoyed this book too.
The writing style was really pleasant to read; lovely descriptions of characters and setting, without too many unnecessary details to get bogged down in. The pacing was very good and the story held my interest consistently.
I love a book where all the characters have secrets and it was fun to uncover what linked all of the characters within this book. The only drawback was that some of the hints were a bit heavyhanded and therefore some of the twists didn't come as surprises, but there were definitely some that did.
The ending was very good, the epilogue may divide people but I personally loved it! I would definitely recommend this book. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
If you like Mystery and Thrillers….Read. This. Book! I loved the suspense and the twist and it kept me hanging on with every page! I read this book in one weekend! I could not put it down!
What do you bring on a ski trip? Anger, jealousy, guilt, betrayal, lies, secrets…and more secrets. Long time friends Tom, Rob and Julian have planned their annual ski trip to France, this time including Harry (Tom’s idea) whom they haven’t seen for years. There are arguments, usually fueled by alcohol, fancy restaurants, skiing and then Tom is dead, killed in a freak skiing accident during a storm. His wife Zoe calls her former best friend Ivy for help. They have been estranged but Zoe insists Ivy accompany her to France. Ivy agrees and leaves her toddler son in the care of her anxiety prone mother. What more could go wrong with this vacation? More than you could ever imagine in this deftly plotted thriller by Sarah Clarke.
The Ski Trip has it all: explosive action, larger than life characters and a plot with more twists and turns than a ski run. It’s a must read for all fans of psychological thrillers! 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, HQ Digital and Sarah Clarke for this ARC.
Twisted story for an act of revenge. Excellent story. Lots of action and twists and turns. Well worth reading.
Set in the Alps during Ski season.
Looking forward to more from Sarah Clarke
Many thanks to the author and publisher for the ARC and opportunity to enjoy this wonderful book
When I read the premise and saw the cover of this one I couldn’t wait to read it. It’s a thrilling novel full of tension and suspense and each character appears to be a suspect so it keeps you guessing to the end. It’s told both in the present and has flashbacks which work well and add to the plot. Some great twists add to the drama. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.
I love more than anything unreliable narration, multiple POVs and timelines and lots of twists and turns so this book was perfect and this authors writing style is very refreshing, i really have a wonderful time with this one and would highly recommend.
5 stars
To give you an idea at how good I found this book, I read it in a day! I didn't guess the ending either. The plot kept making different characters seem suspicious and I barely noticed the jumps between past and present (which I can find annoying in some books). There was plenty of action in the plot and I just had to keep reading
