This is a very interesting book. I have been toying with the idea of going down the self-publishing route one day when I have the time to finish writing a book.
I became a full time tutor about 15 years ago but before that I worked in PR for about 5 years and once ran my own online retail site. So, both marketing and kidlit are in my blood. The marketing landscape has changed significantly over the past 10 years or so due to the evolution of the digital landscape.
This book is useful with its insight on brand building via the social media. I would recommend it to anyone interested in going down the self-publishing route.
I gained a lot of insight from this guide to children's book marketing. While I myself am not in the publishing industry, I am a librarian and always on the lookout for ways to promote books to children, be they avid bookworms or reluctant readers, The tips in this guide, especially for using social media effectively and organising events to promote new books, were very helpful.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A most interesting read, with some interesting tips and ideas. Recommended.
The world of book marketing can be a confusing place for authors, so this slim volume is utterly invaluable in demystifying it and setting out a routemap for the author to prepare for their book launch, work collaboratively with bloggers and teachers, design an exciting book launch and sell their book to the best of their abilities. Packed with good advice and practical tips as well as positivity and encouragement, this should be read by any author well ahead of their book hitting the shelves.
