This book took me for a ride. It was a bit difficult to understand what was happening in the beginning but I was so intrigued once I started reading I couldn’t stop. It felt like I was there with Dylan and april watching their love story continue to begin and then unravel over and over. I love the descriptions of depression and the traveling through different timelines that was seamless and so unique. Would recommend to anyone
Wait for you was such a good romantic book ! It really made me feel nostalgic and remember that first great love feeling ! Dylan and April’s love was so relatable and felt so real even through their ups and downs. I highly recommend this if you like more of an angsty love story. It will pull on your heart strings. I look forward to reading more books by the author.
Thank you Netgalley and Troubador for the digital arc in exchange for my honest review.
I have mixed feelings about this one. The premise of this story drew me in because it combines some interesting tropes: second chance romance + time travel.
The main storyline was near perfect. It was messy and chaotic, filled with passion, sweet moments and screaming matches. There's not a thing that I would've changed about it, despite how heartbreaking some parts of that story were. Both April and Dylan were flawed characters who learned from their mistakes and took a chance on each other. Again.
Now, the alternate realities. I felt that these were completely unnecessary. Frankly, I didn't see the point to including them. The flashbacks certainly made a lot of sense, and helped the reader to understand how April and Dylan got to where they are in the present. But, the alternate realities and flash-forwards didn't do anything to enhance my reading experience. If anything, they took away from it, because they mostly wound up confusing and frustrating me.
3.5 ⭐️
NOTE: ARC received in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Dylan and April were amazing characters that I quickly fell in love with. This was such a page turner! I binged it in about five hours.
I loved this book, it gives new meaning to the expression “ twin mate” at the beginning I thought the characters were the classical people who can’t leave each other and they can’t stay together. Then I understood the were only too young for a love so strong, so they had to grew into it. I highly recommend it, the idea of parallel universitities was terrific!

Thanks to NetGalley and Troubador for providing me with the ARC in turn for a review. I found the plot of the story of April and Dylan interesting and the time travel/alternate reality trips entertaining. The problem I had with the story was the slow pacing, which I felt could be edited for conciseness that would drive the story along.
I hadn’t come across this book before but it caught my eye on NetGalley and when i read the blurb i just knew i had to read it and i was definitely not disappointed.
It was such an easy book to read (although it did take me a little while to get into it, but once i did it was ok) too and i found myself getting pulled in to the story and turning page after page just so that i could find out what was going to happen next.
Wait For You was an emotional rollercoaster and had such an intriguing storyline too, it was quite unique.
I really enjoyed this story and loved being involved in Dylan and April’s story…..
This book was unlike anything I have read. If you’re interested in a romantic read with a time traveling aspect.. this is it.
After a painful breakup, April returns three years later as Dylan is starting a new life with his fiancée. Despite the unresolved past, Dylan still loves April. A confrontation leads to a car crash, pushing Dylan to time travel through pivotal moments in their relationship to change the course of events and ultimately save April's life.
This book was written so well and I give props to the author. There were a few times when the story line would fall into the alternative reality and it would honestly confuse me with how much it switched up (A paragraph or two in, I was able to realize what was going on). I really enjoyed the writing style and it was easy to read.
I never really connected to any of the characters and did not have a favorite character, this made it hard to keep interest. There were a few times things got repetitive, especially when it came to April & Dylan professing their love or arguing over something.
I really enjoyed this book and I love the uniqueness of the plot and the alternative realities. The whole book is April & Dylan’s journey of reconnecting and saving their relationship, it’s beautifully written.
I do have to say, I really enjoyed the way Adam’s accent was portrayed in the writing. It gave me a good laugh.
I would 100% recommend this book to anyone and would read anything Lianne published in the future.
Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a ARC of this book. I am giving this review voluntarily and everything is 100% my own thoughts & opinions.
This story was unique with its perspective and ways it jumped from one POV to another. It also jumped from past, present and what might have been. I enjoyed the story and I would read another one by this author.
I read this book as a NetGalley ARC. This book is about a love that transcends time and space. I could not put this book down! I rooted for April and Dylan from the first page. It is like While you were sleeping, Sliding doors and Somewhere in time all rolled into one. The underlying lesson of this book for me was that true love isn't always easy, it's not always sunshine and roses and it definitely isn't always going to be good fireworks but, if you keep showing up foreach other and always choose each other your love story will be epic also!
I loved Dylan and April’s love story! It was a roller coaster ride and I’m sad the story ended, but happy with the ending nonetheless! The author gave me everything I wanted for their ending! There were moments while reading that my heart ached for them and their journey. The alternate realities were EVERYTHING! 😍 Definitely something new for me. I loved seeing all the possibilities through Dylan and April’s eyes. Even more so, how deeply their love burned 🔥for one another! Thank you to Netgalley for the Arc read! I enjoyed this book and am hoping for a sequel!!!!!!! 😏 #Allin
Quick Summary: A strange twist of fate, second chance love story
My Review: Wait For You by Lianne La Borde was a special, peculiar, mind boggling novel. It was a past, present and future mix of vanishing moments, fractured hopes and dreams, missed and found opportunities, epic passion, second chances, and messy, beautiful love.
About the Book: After an incredibly difficult breakup, April and Dylan are briefly reunited. In what was meant to be a necessary catharsis for one ended up being a regretful explosion for the other. Everything changed when a life altering accident happened. While April's life hangs in the balance, both she and Dylan are granted sliding doors, temporal touchdowns, and new beginnings.
My Final Say: This story was a very emotional, very relatable reading experience. It was first love heartbreak. It was up and down misunderstandings. It was about ready to not being ready life choices. It was about pitfalls, growth points, and don't take for granted opportunities. It was also a heart transforming lesson on losing, forgiving, cherishing, and appreciating those we deeply care for.
Readers who appreciate road not taken romances and breakup to make up reconciliations will fall for this novel in a big way. Understand that time shifts and ongoing plot point movements steer this story. Healing and multi-level communication are huge themes.

Sincere appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher (Troubador), and to NetGalley. Thank you for granting access to a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. The words I have shared are my own.
This heartfelt romance is written to take you on a journey through love with a beautiful ending that lifts your spirits and leaves you believing in true love
Huge thanks to Netgalley for an ARC version of this book.
Wow, this book really took me places. Literally in the sense that the story involved alternate realities telling the love story of Dylan and April, but also moved me. This story focuses on first love and the true meaning of soul mates, and what different life decisions can mean for them. While Dylan and April were both incredibly flawed characters, I needed to know how their story ended, and was rooting for them the entire time.
I loved the way this story was written, even with the alternate realities, it was easy to follow where we were at in the story line. Without giving away any spoilers, the hospital alternate storyline towards the end had me in tears.
Highly recommend this romance novel, if you've ever experienced a first love, or any kind of love, give this story a read.
Wonderful book!
Thank you soooooo much netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced review copy if this book💗

"Wait For You" by Lianne La Borde is a heartwarming romance that beautifully explores the power of love, patience, and second chances. A tale that resonates with hope and determination.
There is no doubt in my mind that this is first and foremost a romance, a love story between two people who found their perfect match in each other, and who are willing to put in the work for their relationship to survive. And, I absolutely love and adore them for it.
This was a very interesting romance book. I think between the main female lead on the main male lead. It was very slow Burn Ash. I did really like it I would 100% recommend. I haven’t read anything from this author before so I was a little sceptical, but she kind of blew out the water for me, and I will be reading more from this author in the future. Her writing Star Wars easy to read it was fun down to earth and I would definitely recommend
Dylan and April has had my heart in a chokehold and while watching them fight for their very own version of happy ever after has me crying ugly tears. I loved this book
Ever since I finished reading it, I have been non-stop thinking about this book for months because the second that I started reading I fell in love with all the characters and fun plot line.
Thank you to Netgalley and Matador publishing for giving me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
April and Dylan were university sweethearts, but after a bitter break up they both go their separate ways.
Until three years later April turns up at Dylan door. what is meant to be a cathartic experience turns into another argument, ending with a serious car crash and April in hospital in a coma. They have one of those relationships where they can't live with each other or can't live without each other.
This book is unlike anything I have read before, if you like second chance romances or the idea of soul mates then this is the book for you. It is almost a Christmas Carol meets Time Travellers Wife and Sliding Doors. It is a book of what ifs, and the ability to see where things went wrong and hopefully go back and them right. I really enjoyed the book, however I did struggle in places with the time travel aspects. They happened so quickly in places I got confused as to where we were in the story. However reckless their actions you can help but want the pair to make a life with each other. Despite hurting other people in the process.
This is all about second chances and written in a different way. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
Very difficult to follow at first, but this book sucks you in. It was hard to get into but once I was in, I couldn't put it down.
An enjoyable book told from many points of views and different time lines. Easy to read and the characters were likeable. All in all a good little book.
The premise of this story really appealed to me. It gave me time traveler’s wife vibes when I read the blurb and I was really excited to see if it lived up to my expectations.
There were a couple of times that I almost gave up, particularly in clusters of alternate reality chapters. There was a lot of the flash back scenes that I don’t feel added much to the story and I’d hoped we’d learn more about the characters through them. I think I would have bought into the story more if we’d had a bit more back story. We kept being told how much our main characters loved each other but didn’t really find out why or see any evidence of it.
I’m glad I powered through because the last 25% was much better than the middle and by the end I was rooting for them but they didn’t fall in love with them the way I have with other characters.
It’s a really interesting concept and I think it’s got a lot of potential but it just felt a little superficial to me.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC 😊
Dylan and April broke up three years ago. Dylan is finally moving on and moving in with his fiancé. Then April shows up in his driveway. They have a tense conversation and an exchange of heated words. April speeds away and then Dylan receives a phone call that April was in a car crash and in the hospital.
Dylan filled with guilt rushes to be by her side. April is in a coma and over the course of her coma Dylan and April move back and forth in time in an effort to change their time line and right what was/is wrong. Readers get to experience their love story and discover what they have especially April has help back.
I enjoyed the read but I loathed April. She's not a likable character but that doesn't take away from what a page turner this book is. Sometimes book with terrible characters make excellent reads because it shows human faults and gives us an insiders look at them. This book of what could have been is an easy read and perfect for the upcoming long holiday weekend.
I did not love this book. However from the description I was expecting a gut wrenching reading through tears thinking about parts days later . I don’t think it was quite a trie love story. More of a story of resentment, acceptance, forgiveness and a strong love always through all scenarios. I felt the back and forth through the should’ve, would’ve could haves were a little long. Making parts a little monotonous. Overall still a good book but not quite up to what I was expecting. Thank you for the arc.
When April arrives on Dylan’s driveway three years after their breakup, it sets about a series of events that leads to a car crash. Dylan’s life falls apart and he realises that he never stopped loving April. What follows is an interesting take on timelines, with Dylan jumping back in time with a chance to possibly save April.
I must admit that whilst this book had an interesting premise, I did find myself quite confused at times to the events that were taking place. There were several different outcomes to their story, ultimately leading to the events that started the book. I finished the book not quite sure whether I liked it or not.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this book so much - such a captivating page turner I lost an entire weekend eager to learn how life would play out for Dylan and April. Time-travellers wife, meets One Day and Normal People (minus the really steamy parts). Definitely one for the summer reads list!
