Description
Diary of an Artist in Love is an intimate new audiobook of prose poetry best listened to with headphones on and eyes closed. The Muse Frequency presents listeners with a calming and ethereal meditation on love. Throughout this profoundly serene and uplifting experience, the artist and sound designer gently coax us into a meditative state using Solfeggio frequencies and by communicating in the most direct possible way through a sacred one-on-one conversation.
Originally inspired by the work of diarist Anaïs Nin, The Muse Frequency aims to design an audio experience that feels confessional and personal. At the heart of it all, this wholly unique project creates intimate experiences meant for one listener, where they can close their eyes, shut out the rest of the world and drift off to beautiful places.

Thought-provoking full of emotion. A emotional listen of short poems narrated to music Loved this quick listen At times the background music was distracting. The narrator gave emotion and created emotion. Recommended for anyone who wants to experience poetry in the modern world. Poetry is not promoted enough and this is a good start.
Thank you net gallery and publisher and narrator for a fab 5 star listen

Diary Of An Artist In Love

I always say that poetry is such a personal thing to write and share and I often find that some of the poems in a collection will resonate more with me and others not at all.
This collection focusses on love in its entirety.
The more personal poems are alternated with a "Love Is" poem - each of them different even though the format is the same.
I loved these poems as they began to feel familiar as I read through the book and I was amazed to see how many things could be found to describe love - all of them absolutely perfect and I could connect and relate to many of them.
I actually became quite emotional reading them all.
The repetition of this same format poem became almost meditative over time.
Perfect to take one when needed to remind ourselves to not take things for granted and to enjoy even the smallest of joys in our own lives.
The poems in between these "love is" poems, I found much more personal.
Again I felt that I could really relate to them as they told a beautiful story of a couple falling in love.
Each one conveyed such emotion and the continuation of the story was really satisfying.
I also have to mention the illustrations and format of this book!
Such a lovely attention to detail with each poem set in its own page with a dividing page between.
I loved the moon phase images throughout which gave it a spiritual vibe.
I also really liked the simple images on each of the poem pages - single line drawings to depict something from that poem - these were so simple yet so effective.
Everything about this book seemed to promote slowing down, taking some time for yourself to really connect back with nature and the simple joys of living and loving.
An absolutely gorgeous collection that I'm sure I'll dip into over and over again. (I've actually already read this thorough twice!)
**I listened to the audio book of this too (maybe not as intended! But....).as I was driving home from taking my son back to uni.
It was a long journey and I thought it would be perfect to relax to during the roadworks etc.
This version has the narrator speaking softly and includes background music which I found so calming.
This would definitely be a great listen to at the end of a busy day or to be added to a meditation period to enhance your relaxation techniques.**
This is a sound design project combining music and spoken word and meditation.. The author reads this in whispers, which takes a bit to get used to. Best listened to at 1.0 speed and not sped up.
It is hard to hear some bits over the music, but most got through either consciously or unconsciously.. It's somewhat enlightening. It can be heard as erotica. The "Love is" poems with every line starting with "Love is.." is too repetitive.. but can be used as a meditative device.
For example:
Love is the origin of the Universe.
Love is how I lose myself.
Love is what illuminates you from within.
Love is the unspoken bond.
Love is the magnetic pull.
The whole audiobook is "Love is..: poems alternating with other poems.. such as On Painting, That Morning, Tell Me, Velvet
My favorite poem of this audiobook is "Velvet" about the divide between touch and feel. "I feel you is not the same as I touch you."
The audio gives us Binaural beats, which are pulse frequencies with offset tones into each ear to balance the brain hemispheres. It also includes Soffregio tones, which are frequencies that stimulate nerves and meridians for nervous system healing and uplifting energy. *
I did more meditating and less listening to the actual words as it went on. It isn't successful as poetry, but this became more enjoyable as a meditative experience.
* Info from Your EDM, "Meditation or Music? The Muse Fequency Explore Both with New Album Diary of an Artist in Love" by Layla Marino
Diary of an Artist in Love is a sweet collection of poems about love. Each poems was thought provoking and full of emotion. It's been a while since I've read any poetry so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. I especially liked that the audiobook was set to music that really helped with the lovely ambience the narrator created. I think my only complaint is how many times the word love was used. I understand that these are poems about love, but it seemed a little excessive. With that being my only complaint I highly recommend this one to poetry lovers.
