Description

I live for happily ever afters.

And I'm finally meeting my favorite romance author in person!

Only, all this time, I thought author, Amelie De Pierre, was a woman.

It turns out, Pierre Toussaint is the man behind the books that make me weak in the knees.

He could be the consummate book boyfriend with his dreamy hazel eyes, strong jawline, and those black-rimmed glasses. Not to mention that accent. Oh, that French accent. When Pierre speaks, I feel like I’m curled in his arms on a riverbank being fed chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Not Pierre’s arms, of course. We barely just met. And I’m just me. And he’s Pierre, internationally renowned romance author.

Seeing Pierre in person has me stammering and blushing—two things I don’t usually do.

Imagine my surprise when I receive a call a few weeks after meeting Pierre—from his agent—proposing marriage. Not that I’d marry his agent.

They want me to marry Pierre.

Prior to reading A Not So Fictional Fall, I read the first two novels from the Sweater Weather series: Just Don't Fall and The Fall Back Plan. I really enjoyed both and they hit 4⭐️ notes for me. However, A Not So Fictional Fall just swept me off my feet and I loved every second of it. Absolutely 5⭐️ for me!

As someone who has met some of my closest friends online due to a shared love of a tv show, I immediately connected with Tasha and her bookstagram besties. I literally had the same conversations with my friends/family before I traveled to meet my online friends for the first time. Their friendship dynamic was sweet and I really loved their interactions.

My favorite tropes are fake dating and marriage of convenience. And this marriage of convenience book had me in my all my feels. It was so sweet and uncomplicated. But I also deeply felt Tasha and Pierre's growing attraction, their longing and the fears that came with all of the realization of their feelings. Tasha and Pierre are just so stinkin cute I can hardly stand it. I just adore them!

Overall, this book is like being wrapped in a warm blanket. It is delightfully cozy and the perfect fall read!

Savannah Scott’s ‘A Not so Fictional Fall’ has effortlessly stolen my heart and its place as my favorite book of the year! It’s a warm and inviting read, made for sweater weather. You’ll wish that you had a cup of hot apple cider by a crackling fireplace while indulging in the delicious slow-burn romance.

Diving into my first-ever ‘marriage of convenience’ read was more than i hoped! The story artfully weaves together moments of delightful awkwardness, palpable tension, and a simmering slow burn that had me glued to its pages, until I finished it in one-sitting.

As for the main characters, Tasha and Pierre, they are an absolute delight. Both characters are wonderful, rational, and kind making it easy for readers to connect with them. Pierre’s French origins added an extra layer of charm to the narrative, with endearing French pet names and phrases sprinkled throughout. Savannah’s portrayal of these characters is so flawless that I’d literally trust her with my life!

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for granting me the privilege of reading this book in advance.

Well, if this book didn’t solidify my love for Savannah‘a writing, nothing will. This book is like a warm hug on a crisp fall day. I could not stop smiling and I laughed out loud so many times.

I’ve also decided I want French MMCs for all my books, Pierre is the ultimate book boyfriend. Swoon! I wanted to highlight everything he said and I could imagine it all in a perfect French accent. Tasha is adorable and sweet and just the most sunshiny FMC and I loved her. She felt so real and relatable (and not just because I’m also a bookstagrammer).

She and Pierre are 🔥 together and I just could not deal with their perfect chemistry. This book has no open door spice but it is still so steamy and swoony and made me melt into a puddle time and time again.

With the strangers to lovers, marriage of convenience, opposites attract tropes you’d think it would be perfect, but then you add in no third act break up and the small town feels and I am in heaven!

Thank you to the author and Netgalley for the eARC of this book. I’m officially in love and need this book on my shelf as a new comfort read for the rest of my life!
