The Desperation of Marla Adams by Patrick Hanford is the second book in the series. It is possible to read this book without being lost even if you have not read the first book. Marla Adams is a new employee of the DEA. Her husband is an undercover agent who is shot and left dead by a drug dealer. Although the doctors have no hope for her husband’s recovery, she disagrees and goes to extensive limits to save him. This is a thriller with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher.
