Description
Advance Praise
"A wonderful narrative for readers who love baseball that also offers valuable lessons to those who don’t." -- Kirkus
"Baseball Buddies is a largely enjoyable story about getting along with others and finding ways to have fun while pursuing larger goals." -- Blue Ink Reviews
“As a baseball announcer, I get to see big leaguers up close every
day at work. As a dad, I see my own little leaguers at home all year
‘round. And I see a little of both when I think of Luis, Gary and the
rest of the Manatees in Baseball Buddies. Whatever your level, it’s a
perfect tale of building a team, working hard, trying your best and
– of course – having fun!” — Scott Franzke, radio play-by-play voice of the Philadelphia Phillies

had so much fun reading this book, the story is so adorable and the illustrations were so well done and charming, there’s so many little details in every page that I couldn’t stop but be mesmerized by it all. I will definitely be recommending it! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy
A story strong on building a team, being a good teammate, and building leadership in young people, this children’s fiction book is a solid read. The sweet spot for readers is ages 8-13. The illustrations break up the text nicely.
In this book, Coach Joe turns over the leadership elements to the players and Luis, who is new to the team, must find a way to bring his teammates together. While competition and winning is important, it’s more about working together and learning from others' strengths.
Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC!
While this is such a fun book for baseball-loving readers, the delightful story of team dynamics will appeal to anyone who's ever been the new kid learning to navigate friendships on and off the field.
This book would be great for children playing sports. Encourages and challenges them to work together to do their best both as a team and individually. The artwork goes with the theme of each chapter like a child’s drawings.
Building a Team is a new middle grade story about a baseball team. Luis is the new kid on the team and there are some problems. The team has to learn how to work together in order to win and be a good team.
I thought this was a good book! There are a lot of good lessons throughout for the kids. I also liked the baseball aspect of this book. Who doesn’t love baseball? It is also about to be spring so it is the perfect time for this book! I think kids who are interested in baseball are really going to like this one. I also enjoyed the illustrations throughout.
Thanks so much to netgalley and Red Chair Press for the arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC!
This is a beginning chapter book- there are pictures throughout the chapters but not as many as a picture book. A great way to get older kiddos used to chapter books who love sports! This shows the importance of a team and working together- there is no I in team! It looks like this is going to be a mini series which will be great for young sport lovers- it would be interesting to see different sports show throughout these series!
This is so well written for its age group! My son will love it! Baseball kids will love it! Five Stars!
