Interesting story I’d drug developement and the machinations and competition behind the scene . Seemed a bit far fetched in some areas, a little too detailed in others so I skimmed some areas. Good resolution with possibility of a sequel.
I enjoyed the second half of Double Blind. A tense medical thriller, the novel sees Dr Paul Beresford attempting to save a drug trial that is apparently being sabotaged.
Travelling between Hong Kong and St Petersburg, he faces a race against time to discover the truth before the trial is cancelled. A promising drug could be lost, causing massive financial damage to his employer. The pace is fast, although there is a lot of technical detail in the narrative.
The first part of the novel is very slow. The scene is set through long back stories of each main character, from childhood onwards. It feels like a very long prelude before we reach the key story arc. This was extremely frustrating and definitely reduced my enjoyment of Double Blind.
