Description
"You'll fall in love with Elvis, the spunky little dog who is an excellent judge of character, and Emily, the compassionate veterinarian-sleuth who rescues him." –Sharon Marchisello, author of Secrets of the Galapagos
As the new owner of the Coral Shores Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Emily Benton is in over her head. When she makes a house call at the home of her client, Mrs. Eliza Klein, she finds the woman's terrier, Elvis, in a state of distress and Mrs. Klein face down on the floor-dead. Emily immediately contacts her brother, Deputy Sheriff Duncan Benton, for help.
The cause of death is later determined to be nicotine poisoning, triggering an official murder investigation. Who would want to kill a retired piano teacher best known for her animal charity work?
Emily is caught up in the middle of the drama when she brings Elvis into her home. The little terrier's strong canine instincts drag Emily further into the investigation, putting them both at risk. While Emily and her best friend, Anthony, take on the role of amateur sleuths, Emily's brother and his very handsome colleague, Detective Mike Lane, work to uncover the truth and get justice for both Mrs. Klein and Elvis.

This is a really nice story on a par with a Hallmark book. Seems a fine start to a new series.
I requested and received an EARC from Black Rose Writing via NetGalley. Thanks
A terrier's instinct exposes an unscrupulous real estate operation in a quiet place called coral shores.
Emily Benton is a Coral Shores' dedicated veterinarian. She discovers the body of a local resident, Mrs. Klein, on a visit for her dogs checkup. Emily becomes Elvis's caregiver while local police investigate the murder. Elvis's demeanor changes when Bucky delivers food from a local grocer. His negative reaction to Bucky makes Emily think there is a connection to the murder. As the investigation progresses, Emily uncovers a connection to Bucky's involvement with a real estate firm up to no good.
This cozy murder mystery was a fun read. I enjoyed Elvis's intuition that Bucky is not a good guy. This is a highly recommended read for dog lovers and cozy mysteries.
This is a great cozy mystery that hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. This book is a Must Read for dog lovers and fans of a good cozy mystery.
I received a complimentary copy from Black Rose Writing via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
