Squeegee Art Revolution : Scrape your way to amazing abstract art. This is an innovative and inspiring book. I loved the techniques and the simplicity of it, and can't wait to give it a try. There are lots of projects to follow to start you off, and once you get the hang of it you can adapt and create your own pieces. The book is full of colourful photographs and step by step instructions. It would be suitable for a variety of people and levels, from working with children in schools right up to the more advanced artist. A new technique for me, and a great idea. Loved it !
I am so excited to have this book! I already pre-ordered a hard copy for my art library. This is such a wonderfully creative, inspiring, stunning book. I love the vibrant images, material and how-to explanations, and fun projects. I really am eager to create my own versions of these, because they look so awesome! Plus, it is so cool that you really can't create the same art twice using these methods. This is a fantastic addition to any creative book collector's shelf!
I received this DRC from NetGalley
I had never heard of squeegee art before this. The projects look really accessible. The artwork pictured makes me want to try my own. Looks fun.
Fabulous book with some clever ideas for use with children or budding artists. Using non traditional tools to move paint across the paper instead of standard paint brushes is a great idea!
This person was new to me but I can see why she has an Instagram following. This is brilliant, showing how even people who aren't necessarily great artists can create their own beautiful works of art.
My favorite part was at the beginning where she describes how this medium first came to her attention and she went around to different places looking for tools to use, not limiting herself to art supplies. The bulk of the book has art projects you can try yourself, with a list of what you need and tips for how to design your project.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this ARC
If Squeegee art fascinates me. If, like me, you have seen people splooging paint on to a canvas on social media and scraping it about with what appears to be an upturned plastic dustpan and yet creating delightfully abstract images, then this is a great book to explain how on earth it is done. Seriously, have you seen those ones where they scrape into a scene? Fab
I really enjoyed this book along with now having a tin of portential projects to try out. Absolutely brilliant
Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC (and an ever expanding project inspo list!) My review is left voluntarily
This book starts with the authors introduction before delving into the basics of the rather delightful method that is 'squeegee art'. Tempting as it is to start creating right away, it is definitely advisable to read the sections covering the supplies we need to source to give us the very best results. Chapter 1 is extensive and really gives a lots of vital information, however without any undue ado we are quickly onto chapter 2: The projects (herein the fun really begins!!). Twenty-two delightful projects are featured.
The projects themselves are broken down into steps and that these are illustrated with photographs really helps. Some projects are abstract, others less so with somethings being 'seen' in the final result. With a huge range of projects, something is bound to appeal to each reader - personally I have a number of favourites and as such feel spoilt for choice!
Overall a beautiful book that I am enthused to start using to create squeegee art!
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity too review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
Have you ever seen the videos of people making squeegee art and wondered if that is real? I thought there must be some trick to it.
In simple easy to follow language, Clara Cristina de Souza Rego shares her expertise. The trick is in the pressure and angle of the squeegee. After explaining the method of creating squeegee art, Clara has included a series of step by step instructions to create your first artwork. Create your own art to display on your walls.

How fun! I have never heard of squeegee art until stumbling across this book. I am newly into reverse coloring books, where you doodle over existing abstract water color images, so this captured my attention right away, as a means of creating my own from start to finish.
The author covers all the basics of getting started, supplies needed, and includes lots of beautiful visuals and steps for reference. Luckily for me, I pretty much have everything needed already in my craft closet and around the house.
Who is this style of art for? All ages! If you are able to hold a squeegee (and old enough to know not to eat the paint 😆) then this is for you. It’s a great creative outlet when your creativity is squandered by stress. Been there… I think of it more as coloring your mood, and then doodling whatever comes to mind.
What a fun craft.
Thank you to NetGalley, Walter Foster Publishing, and Clara Cristina de Souza Rêgo for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Awesome book! I’ve always wanted to try this technique but didn’t know where to start. Great instructions and I can make designs that don’t look like mud. 😂 If you need a new hobby grab this and try it out!
Now I have a new art project obsession. This would be a great warm day porch project because you only need a few things to get started.
Ok so I was so excited when I got this book to review that I immediately ordered the supplies before I even finished reading. I am already trying out the projects and having so much fun! The author did such a wonderful job making this feel easy and fun and not at all intimidating. It’s the perfect balance of giving you guidance and instructions on technique and then letting your own creativity and imagination grow from there. If you have ever considered trying squeegee art but didn’t know where to start, I highly recommend this book.
Thank you for the eARC! I’m having so much fun painting!
