This was a fun book to read with my son. We have a fun tradition of doing what we call night “night hikes” when we go camping. So this is the perfect book for us. The book is full of fun information about things that happen at night, including animals that come out at night. I also really enjoyed the pages about the moon and the stars. I definitely recommend this book for families that enjoy exploring at night!
This is a fun book for any kid who likes exploring the outdoors. With a night time guide to sights and sounds and some activities too, this book has it all.
Just like the other book in this series, it's a great book that encourages exploration and provides a lot of good information. The art style and layout of the pages are great. There is really nothing bad to say about the book. It's great. I would highly recommend getting it for your child - especially if they are mildly curious about the biological world around them.
This is a book packed with interesting information about nocturnal animals as well as flowers that bloom in the night. It also features various fun activities for children to do at night in nature. It is a fabulous book.
This is an adorable book! My sons love exploring outside and they really enjoyed this. It's educational and fun!
My children thoroughly enjoyed Backpack Explorer: Nature Walk, so we were excited to read another book in the series. This is a great book for children who love the outdoors. It would be especially fun to take on a camping trip or on a night walk in a state park or even near the beach. There are sections that talk about nocturnal animals, night blooming plants, the phases of the moon, popular constellations, plants, among other night sky phenomena. I love the actual photos included and the ideas for games. They would be great for camping or just having the kids playing outside. This book is wonderful for curious and adventurous kids and is a great way to encourage kids (who need it) to play outside!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this one.
Super in every way. Easy format, loads of ideas. I’m a huge fan of nature activity books, but a night time one has a whole new twist. Definitely one to pack if you’re off camping, but equally perfect to fill those dark winter evenings.
Oh, and if your little one is afraid of the dark, I reckon this demystifies the night and removes the scare. Worth a try,
This is fast becoming one of our favourite outdoor education series.
In the latest release, we find out all about what to bring, do and spot on a nocturnal adventure. With top tops, scavenger hunts and stickers, we found out in depth information about owls, raccoons, crickets, stars, moths, amphibians and the night sky.
Discussing shooting stars, the planets and bioluminescence, we learnt so much and had shadow puppet fun too. With games to play to encourage fully immersive learning, this is another brilliant edition jam packed with information.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for sending this eBook for review consideration. All opinions are our own.

Fantastic activity learning book for any age or country of origin, really. There are sections on the night sky, nocturnal animals and lots more, complete with fun learning tools like magnifying glass and ways to see animals and flora that have bioluminescence. Fantastic learning tool!
There are activities for learning and stickers (if the book is gifted to one person). It also encourages interaction for the reader with both the giver and the environment. I want one!
The illustrations are delightful, imaginative, clear, and colorful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, and even to a school or teacher or your public library!

Backpack Explorer: Night Walk is the perfect companion for anyone who loves exploring the outdoors, especially at night. The interactive elements, like the scavenger hunt and the glow-in-the-dark stickers, make it incredibly engaging for children and adults alike.
The illustrations are beautiful and really capture the magic of night time adventures. I also appreciated the educational facts sprinkled throughout the book, which made our night walks not only fun but also informative. My children were thrilled to identify different nocturnal animals and plants, and it sparked a lot of curiosity and excitement about nature.
This is such a fun, thoughtful book that will really help kids explore. This would be fantastic for a summer camp, summer program, or gift for a kiddo at the beginning of the summer. I was delightfully surprised at the inclusion not only of bugs and animals that come out at night but also activities and games to engage kids in fun at night. This would also be great as a gift for going camping for the first time. I highly recommend for elementary classrooms and school libraries and public libraries. Readers will learn a lot and have fun doing it with this book!
