Description

This Book Is A Daily Practice, Not Just Another Book Filled With Dad Jokes — Okay, Granddad In My Case — LOL.

If you liked James Clear’s Atomic Habits or Mark Manson’s The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, you will love Laugh Out Loud; it provides the secret ingredient in life for coping and happiness that money just can’t buy. Humanity is in a state of crisis and despair on a global scale. Despots are everywhere we turn, sowing and spewing their evil. Say nothing of the day-to-day stressors in life that we face.

As of the end of 2022, there were 85,253 self-help books available; however, only 5 percent of these books get scientifically tested to determine if the advice works. The self-help/improvement field addresses everything from attitude adjustment to postpartum depression to zeal wellness. The basis of Laugh Out Loud is laughter, which has proven — repeatedly — to work! The benefits of laughing are significant, as reported by the Mayo Clinic and detailed in the American Journal of Medical Sciences, aiding in stress management and depression relief, fighting allergies, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease, and boosting the immune system.

In Laugh Out Loud, I am giving you a tool, a guide, to use in your daily life so, at a minimum, you are provided a mere glimmer of hope, a distraction, a respite, something to grasp with both hands and cherish, to promote your wellbeing for the better, and ease your mind in these critically troubling times in our lifetime. Laugh Out Loud may not be a way out, but it is a way to cope if practiced. I promise that following the five steps in this guide will bring a smile to your face, a ray of sunshine to your heart, and at least a moment (if not several) of happiness to your life.

Happiness can be fleeting.

Laughter can be infectious. Declared life’s best medicine.

“LAUGH OUT LOUD: Your Personal Prescription for the Best Medicine on Earth” by Jack Daly is a refreshing take on the self-help genre that stands out in its simplicity and effectiveness. Daly’s book is not just a read; it’s an experience that encourages the reader to engage in the very act that it promotes—laughter.

At a time when the world is grappling with various crises, Daly offers a balm for the soul with his L.A.U.G.H. Method—a five-step process that promises to inject a dose of joy into the reader’s daily routine. This book is grounded in scientific research, citing highly acclaimed sources.

Daly’s writing is accessible and relatable, drawing parallels with popular works like James Clear’s “Atomic Habits” and Mark Manson’s “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck”. However, “LAUGH OUT LOUD” carves its own niche by focusing on laughter as a tangible and powerful tool for coping and happiness—a resource that is readily available to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.

The book’s strength lies in its actionable advice. It doesn’t just tell you to laugh; it shows you how. Each step of the L.A.U.G.H. Method is a practical exercise that can be easily incorporated into everyday life, making the pursuit of happiness and well-being an attainable goal rather than an elusive dream.

In essence, “LAUGH OUT LOUD” is a reminder that sometimes the simplest things in life, like laughter, can be the most profound. It’s a guide that doesn’t just aim to improve your days but seeks to transform your life by changing how you respond to the world around you. Daly’s work is a testament to the power of laughter and its role as life’s best medicine—a prescription we could all benefit from filling.

This a why as much as a how-to. Daly explains the benefits of a life filled with humor. Your mind and body - never mind your emotional and will - are affected by your positivity or negativity.

Should you laugh aloud? Of course. Can you? Do you want to? Worth reading to see where you fall on the humor scale. You'll learn how to lighten up with comedians, engage with the funny parts of life around you, and take yourself less seriously.
