Description
Bubbles is a dragon who is a little different from the others. The other dragons laugh at him from afar because he looks a little different to them. However, although Bubbles knows what they are saying about him, he isn’t going to let that stop him from doing what he loves to do - Zooming around the sky!
One day the other dragons suddenly see Bubbles zooming up high above the clouds and even though they start out with making fun of his appearance, slowly they start to see a strength within him that ignites a new emotion - acceptance!
Even though Bubbles knows that others laugh at him, he hasn’t changed himself or what makes him special. Maybe, Bubbles’ determination will help them to see beyond the differences between them all.
Bubbles the Dragon is a gentle rhyming story about believing in yourself and being happy with who you are. Follow Bubbles the dragon as he teaches the other dragons about kindness and strength, whilst readers, about empathy and self-confidence. Bubbles the Dragon is a positive book that empowers readers who may feel that they are different from their friends.

This book has GORGEOUS illustrations and fun word usage.
Pros:
- Amazing, eye-catching illustrations
- Story line that children can see themselves in.
- Helps children understand the importance of acceptance and inclusion
- Has a character (dragon) that children will like and a problem they may find funny and parents can draw similarities to.
Suggestions for improvement:
- It would be nice to have a discussion guide at the end for parents. Something that might have questions parents can ask their kids following the book. Such as "Why are people mean when they see something different?" "How can you help others who are being bullied?"
This book showcased a sweet story about a dragon with different traits than the rest. This was a beautiful representation of inclusion despite differences (with a funny aspect as well!)
Bubbles the Dragon is a sweet story about a dragon who is slightly different than the rest and how other dragons come to accept him. The illustrations were gorgeous, and the moral of inclusivity is so important for children to learn at a young age.
Perfect for introducing the topic of bullying and the importance of including other children despite their differences. I think children will find Bubbles' unique trait to be funny.
I received an ARC from Troubador via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Bubbles the Dragon is an adorable quick book for kids. Bubbles has a hairy bum and doesn't like that he gets made fun of for it. He puts on a flying show, and no one notices his silly butt anymore.
Cute book with bright dragon pictures. My kids really enjoyed it but wished it was just a bit longer.
Had the opportunity to read this to my three year old and he absolutely loved it. He thought the furry bottom was hilarious and beautiful and we loved how the story progressed. Not really sure if there was supposed to be meaning behind it but it was an enjoyable read. The illustrations were absolutely gorgeous too!
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher (Troubador) in exchange of an honest review. Thank you!
Bubbles the dragon is a cute short story about a unique, 'one of a kind' dragon. He is a little bit different than the others. So the other dragons laugh at him until he does something special.
It's a nice story for little children (ages 2-4) to show how everybody could have some peculiarity, even if he shows differences.
I love the art and the pictures, but the rhymes made the whole book really exceptional for me!
Before nap time for the two little boys, we do story time. 📖📚Or try to each day 🤪 And today since it was rainy, windy and cold, we did more than normal. The boys LOVED these books. All of them were such cute stories and had fun illustrations. My oldest son asked lots of great questions. My middle son said, “again mommy again!!!” My favorite was Violin of Hope. It was all about the holocaust. Such a great book for elementary school teachers with that topic. It was so heartfelt and had such sweetness to it. The Big Book of Useless Knowledge had my oldest son just bursting with questions, because it was so fun!! I use to teach preschool for five years, so a fun new children’s book is always a joy for me to share with the boys before rest time. Add these to your summer reading lists! Thank you @netgalley for these advance copies.

"Bubbles the Dragon" is a children's book about a unique dragon who is laughed at by the other dragons until he does something special. The book is perfect for children and teaches them that everyone has something special about them, even if they are different. The illustrations are lovely, and the rhymes make the book enjoyable to read.
Read this with my 6 year old. He loved the pictures, and liked the ending when all the dragons came together. He didn’t like that they were mean but understood that been different doesn’t mean your bad and that we don’t all have to look the same to be accepted.

Beautiful illustrations on each and every page. Very well written for a child and for them to be able to understand that differences are okay. Highly recommend, will be buying a few copies to pass out for Christmas gifts!
Bubble the dragon might look different from the other dragons but he doesn't let that stop him. They might like to tease him but he doesn't let that stop him. Bubbles just has fun and plays and eventually they all join in and love his special ways.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.
Once again another amazing and cute children's book. I loved this story and the illustrations made me smile all the way through the book! amazing, loved it!
Alison Thomas’ Bubbles the Dragon could have been really great. It’s still quite good, of course. I loved the artwork and I adored the overall message. Even more, I know kids are going to have a blast reading this! It almost gave me Elliott from Pete’s Dragon vibes, which honestly just made me adore it even more.
My biggest complaint about this book, and what really prevented me from a higher star rating, is that it really suffers from a lack of continuity in the musicality of the poetry. I mean, it’s great that your children’s book rhymes and all, but you really mess it up when you can’t keep your lines together in a similar cadence. I truly hate that this is such a powerful thing because it almost feels crummy to point to this as an issue, but the stories that work well and really stick with us are the ones that keep to that consistency.
Rhyming alone doesn’t make a good poem, just like it doesn’t make a good children’s book by itself, either. And this all could have been fixed if the author knew enough about poetry and musicality to recognize that there needed to be some sort of theme to the number of syllables. Reading this book out loud is jarring. It’s very easy to get thrown off because the cadence just doesn’t work right.
Other than that, though, I thought Bubbles and his story was amazing.
With cute illustrations and a dragon with a funny bum, this children's book is perfect for reading with kids. The story is one of kindness and teaches kids to value uniqueness in themselves and others.

Bubbles the dragon loves zooming here and there through the sky. The other dragons think he is a bit weird looking, and they laugh at him. Bubbles is very good at flying and the other dragons begin to recognize his talent. Bubbles stays true to himself and refuses to pretend to be something he isn’t. Bubbles is a very special one-of-a-kind dragon, just like each of us are created to be unique and one of a kind.
Bubbles the Dragon is a cute story about Bubbles a unique dragon; this is a rhyming book. It demonstrates how we should all be true to ourselves. We need to learn how to be happy with who we are and not allow others to make us doubt ourselves. The message in this book is positive. Children will love the story of Bubbles. The illustrations are beautifully done and complement the text. I recommend this book for preschoolers.
This was so fun. Kids are going to love this book. Bubbles the dragon has a unique bum and it will take his friends a little bit to figure that that’s only part of Bubbles. This book has a nice rhyming pattern and cadence. The cadence is a little scratchy in places and not as smooth as it could be but altogether it works well. I do feel at times it seems a “self-published” with how words are drawn in bubbles, but don’t let that fool anyone. This was simply wonderful, and kids would want to read it again and again and again.
I had a great time reading this book. We meet a dragon who is different from the others, and this makes them say mean things about them. They refuse to let this stop them from doing the things they enjoy, and soon changes their views about them. Once this story comes to a close life for this dragon will be changed forever.
Bubbles the Dragon is a sweet story about a dragon who is different from the other dragons and is looking to find acceptance. I absolutely loved the illustrations and enjoyed the premise of this book, but felt the story lacked a little detail. I would have liked to see a little more detail in the plot of the story.
