The flame of consciousness burns within us all, but for Heat Agaki, that flame has always been an intense inferno. Restless and filled with smoldering nihilism, Heat’s mind seems ablaze, her words steeped in napalm, her tongue the lighter always at the ready.

But Heat’s desire goes beyond simply lighting her high school and mother on fire; she dreams of turning the entire world into cinders, starting with those she feels deserve to burn. She becomes a firebrand, determined to awaken her decaying city to her truth.

As a mad-eyed detective pursues her and an erratic classmate whispers unsettling ideas, Heat embarks on a dark journey to understand the spiraling depths of her innermost workings. Can fire draw a line between right and wrong? Good and evil? And does Heat have the right to make such life-altering decisions?

Nestled deep in the human psyche, FLICKER disturbs that shuddering mountain of ashes we would have all rather left to its slumber; and to that eternally recurring ideal that from the grey unfurls its vermillion wings, it asks:
