This book reminded me so much of Newt Scamander and the Fanastic Beasts world. Aila's story is so beautifully written, with an amazing magically creatures written into it. This is a gorgeous book that needs to be on your beach/pool side reads for this summer.

This book is everything. It's so much more than I expected, and I want to read it again and again.
The world building is immaculate - the details clearly thought out and lovingly shared, without making you feel for a minute like it's too much. In fact, I want more! I want textbooks and documentaries and just generally to devour every single scrap of information about this world.
The characters were perfect, the animals were perfect, the plot was totally predictable - but I didn't care one bit because it was still perfect. My only wish is that the flurry of drama at the end had gone on for longer, but I can forgive that because this book is a gift. I intend to send everybody I know a copy for Christmas!
