Description
With breathtaking honesty, Edward Jeffries guides us through his failures and a sequence of miracles that changed his life. The first miracle happened when his neck was damaged in a car accident and then unexpectedly healed. Why me? he wondered, since his way of life had certainly earned no favours from God. His increasing addiction to alcohol caused the break-up of his second marriage. He had hurt a lot of people and landed himself in poverty. What a waste, after his first-class honours degree!
Two kind neighbours took him to a healing service, but it did nothing to help. Things worsened further when his wife poured boiling water over him, spectactularly ending their marriage. His neighbours took him to another healing service, but Edward didn't move until everyone had left the chapel. He made his way to the front of the church, he hugged the rough wooden cross and spoke from the heart, declaring that he forgave his wife. From that moment on, he was a changed man. In that moment, his alcohol addition disappeared and never returned.
This miracle was followed by more, and an unexpected; a new relationship with a clairvoyant lady. They later married and developed their spirituality together, frequently seeing visitors from the afterlife.Knowing that we continue to live after death has totally changed Edward's attitude towards life and other people. He would like to share these positive aspects of his life, before it is too late. Miracles is his story, both an autobiographical tale of his life and an account of what Edward believes is evidence of heaven, and the existence of life after death. The book will appeal to fans of autobiographies, as well as believers and non-believers in God and spirituality.
Advance Praise
“Ted Jeffries writes of his own journey from despair to welcoming visions of heaven. He speaks of his discoveries that allow God to breathe in his life. This is not a book of bold acclamations but a humble acceptance of what happens when God is allowed space and opportunity. I commend this brave and honest book.”
Canon Grant Welch
"A deeply moving, courageous story told in plain language by an 85 year old man. Well educated, cultured and accomplished, yet so unsure about his reason for living that he turned to alcohol to help him cope with a highly stressful life. Like many great men, this was the 'achilles heel' which almost destroyed him. With touching humility he holds nothing back in telling how he was helped by two friends who took him to a healing service at Trelowarren Chapel in Cornwall. The healing he recieved, without asking, was only the start of a long journey through a new way of learning, learning what really matters, why we are here, how we can make amends for our mistakes and become a loving, spiritual person. What shines through this beautiful book is the honesty, and the hope he gives to others, hope that we all can be healed and live again in this world and the next. A five star book. Just read it!"
