Description

Having a Ruby Anniversary balloon flight over Broadland is an exciting big tick off Jack’s bucket list, and one that gives a whole new perspective to his life as a River Ranger ... and all the more so when he spots something strange and mysterious in the reed-beds below.

Suspicions aroused, his ‘copper’s instinct’ leads to a sinister finding and, ultimately, disclosures of past wrongs, inevitable greed and unpunished evil.

Undaunted, Jack pursues his quest for truth and justice amongst the rivers and boatyards of his beloved Broads, unearthing skeletons in more than one family’s cupboard, and tragedy and long-sought reckoning in another’s.

Having a Ruby Anniversary balloon flight over Broadland is an exciting big tick off Jack’s bucket list, and one that gives a whole new perspective to his life as a River Ranger ... and all the more...

Retired Scotland Yard detective Jack Fellows is now a Ranger on the Norfolk Broads in England and was celebrating their fortieth anniversary with his wife and daughters by taking a balloon ride over his patch. He notices a half-buried boat with human remains in the weeds and that is the beginning of the unraveling a current and historical puzzle. The characters are so very real and the investigation is brilliant. Terrific read!
Illustrations by Sarah Rogers are intricate line drawings that do enhance the chapter interims.
