As the Soviet Army expanded their oppression and depopulation of Ukraine, they started to relocate Ukrainian people and the colony of Budny to the icy region of Siberia. With their future uncertain, the Bauer must do everything they can to survive, no matter the cost. Then WWII comes, tragedy strikes and the family is separated. The boys must learn all too quickly what it takes to be a man in wartime.
