This had me hooked from the start, another great novel by Cecelia Ahern.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

Well. This book is a lot, so many intertwined stories and so much hurt for Enya as she faces her 47th year and, decades on, is struggling with the death of her mum. I loved everything about this story; the rag tree, Margaret, her role as a GP, Finn, Flora. The twists and turns had me absolutely hooked and I absolutely did NOT see the ending coming. What an absolutely fabulous read, would highly recommend.

I am a huge fan of Cecelia Ahern's books and this one did not disappoint. Right from the beginning, I was drawn in and felt like I knew the characters. You could feel all the main character's emotions and I had to keep reading to see what happened. And just when i thought I had it figured it out, a twist appeared that I didn't see coming. Highly recommend !!

Another great read from Cecilia. Very atmospheric, quite dark in places, yet considering everything that goes on, from the accident and further on, it is still a story of hope and new beginnings. A book that had mostly likeable characters and impressive scene setting I really enjoyed this.

I absolutely love Cecilia Ahern since PS I Love You. I adore her books and her writing and I am so excited to dig into her latest novel Into The Storm. It takes a much darker turn and I am so excited to see how this story unravels. Will be sharing more thoughts and full review soon.

It's rather disconcerting when you are driving home and the rain is of biblical proportions when you see a man standing in the middle of the road near something. Enya, A GP, gets out and discovers a boy lying on the road and the other man Oscar saying he didn't hit him, he found him like it and has called the emergency services. Enya has her own issues. Since moving into her now deceased mother-in-law's home. Enya’s marriage hasn't been great. Her son has become very detached and when he’s home from school he escapes to his room without interaction. When she leaves and takes up a new rural practice things aren’t as straightforward as she first thought. There is a tree with rags on, blocking the light and when Enya tries to have it taken down things turn for the worse. Enya has her own secrets as does Margaret who is looking after the property Enya is in and they become friends. What really happened on the night of the accident and will the truth keep everyone safe?

This is an intriguing tale, as if there is a tension bubbling under the surface. It begins with the accident and then follows through to the village when Enya is now the sole GP. It's brilliantly written, as with all Cecelia's books, and quickly grabs the reader's attention, not letting go., making me want to read more. It’s clever and well sculpted, written mostly from Enya’s point of view. An enticing, captivating read I thoroughly enjoyed.

Wow what a rollercoaster! Enya is having a crisis, and it seems her whole world is imploding! Caught up with the realisation that she’s going to surpass her mums age, the death of her mother hits her hard. An accident on a dark night, tips her balance and her life unravels, there are some pretty scary characters, who only seem to make Enya spiral further. Cecelia Ahern’s writing is so descriptive, I had so much empathy for all the families involved.

A emotional mystery that will grip you so tight that you can't breathe. She is a GP and she fights to keep a young boy alive in the pouring rain. I love how intense the plot is and becomes as the characters developed. It's a emotional ride with twists that tear at you.

Wonderful book, I read it in one sitting as I just had to find out what happened. Great characters - powerfully written. The storyline is original and different with a wonderful combination of reality with a touch of mysticism. The mental anguish and angst of the main character is something everyone can relate to. Highly recommended.

this was not what i thought it would be but i wasn’t disappointed!
having read every book by this author i did not expect this, its very dark and has many twists and turns, its a thriller but not a thriller.
i loved the story how it all lead back to her childhood and how she fears history will repeat itself and this leads to self destruct.
a story of loss, love, despair, fear and finding strength in yourself

Loved this book and all the twists and turns it offered. This kept me on the edge of my seat as both a reader, a mother and a human and there were some great hooks in there keeping you guessing.

What a rollercoaster ride!
It all starts with a woman in the middle of a mental health crisis in middle age.
And a drive on a very stormy night.
She decides the only way to get her sanity back is to leave her family and move from the town to the country as a GP.
Among this rural community, and a rag tree in her garden that strangers like to visit, things don't exactly become clearer.
She is being stalked by men who won't be left behind. It now becomes a mystery thriller about what happened on that stormy night.
She doesn't know who to trust - but is it her imagination, or something more sinister going on?

I really enjoyed Into the Storm a very moving novel by Cecelia Ahern.

Who would think that one night driving through a storm will change GP Enya's life in a flash as she is flagged down to attend a teenage boy and administers CPR on him and he survives.

Will Enya survive too as she finds she is falling out of love with Xander her husband of many years. Finn their teenage son is drifting away from her as time goes by.

Enya at the tender age of twelve lost her Mother Brighid who had a heart attack aged forty seven whilst swimming in the sea whilst Enya and her sister Flora where away on a trip with their Father who had remarried after divorcing Brighid when Enya and her sister were only two and three years old.

Brighid loved the Irish pagan rituals and celebrated the winter solstice and spring equinox. Brighid wrote in her magazine that we must look at its roots. Imbolc/imbolg meaning 'in stomach'. Also her name Brighid is from the patroness of Ireland, the Mother saint.

I loved the rag tree that is mentioned later on it the novel which is also known as the magic tree or medicine tree. It is where people who have experienced loss or wish their loved ones to heal tie a piece of garment from their loved ones around the tree.

May day is the first day of summer in Ireland and also May day is a signal in the aviation world and in French 'M'aider', means 'help me' an SOS.

My heart went out to Enya and Margaret her landlord who both have secrets that will tear their worlds apart.

I loved the way Cecelia Ahern describes the elements, the Irish rituals, the angst that engulfs Enya day and night with no reprieve until the truth unfolds and 'M'aider help me relates to Enya.

This book had me gripped from the first page until the last. The ending was a total surprise. The characters are well depicted and there are interesting relationships some of which centre around a rag tree. There are lots of twists which keep you reading and guessing. The story incorporates Irish folklore, Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of another highly recommended Cecelia Ahern.

This is another fabulous book by Cecelia Ahern. I’ve read all of her previous books and this is definitely one of my favourites.
It’s a complex and well written book that pulled me in quickly.
It’s a little different from her usual books and is hugely enjoyable.

Cecelia Ahern has a unique ability when crafting a story, to delve into your heart with her characters and her stories stay with you.
The storyline focuses on Dr Enya Pickering and her family. One night, Enya encounters a hit & run, while driving home during a terrible storm. Ultimately, she saves the victim. But the events prove a catalyst in leading Enya to escape to the village of Abbeydooley. Abbeydooley is the home of a "rag tree", which holds an important place in the hearts of local people and also plays a role in daily lifeAs Enys struggles to settle into her new life, the past continues to haunt her.
I raced through Into The Storm in one day, utterly unable to put it aside. I loved it, especially the 'newspaper clippings' from her mother and the details of Irish mythology.

Another beautiful book from Cecelia Ahern.

The story weaves in the past and present for the main character, Enya, as her life unfolds in the year following the storm, and the far reaching implications.

There are some challenging themes which have been written so sensitively I could ‘feel’ the emotion and really emphasise with Enya and her situation. The references to Enya’s mothers writing was a lovely touch and brings another layer of depth to the story.

I’m really grateful for the opportunity to read and review Into The Storm, thank you.

So good to read Cecelia Ahern again, she writes characters so well.
The book opens with Enya , a GP who is driving through horrendous weather and comes across an accident. A boy is lying in the road, having been hit by a car. And from this event, Enya's life begins to unravel.
This book had me totally hooked and I read it in one sitting on a summer's day. I cried and smiled.
Beautiful.

This felt different to a normal Cecelia Ahern book and I definitely enjoyed it. The plot and character building was fulfilling and in typical Cecelia fashion she knows how to weave complex feelings and mental health through the narrative in a subtle way. She is a go to author of mine, I don’t think I even read the blurb before requesting.

Phew, what a read. Not what expected and quite harrowing at times, I kept turning the pages, only to be faced with another twist in the tale.
I loved learning about Pre-Christian Ireland and the various pagan festivals during the year.
The relationship between Enya and Margaret was perfect- they both evolved into a wonderful non-judgmental friendship. It’s a 5 star review from me

I really enjoyed this book. I am a fan of Cecelia Ahern, and knew that this book would be a great page turner.
The story is of a Doctor and shows how her life changes after being an witness to an accident.
I loved all the different characters that appear in the book, and the different relationship that Enya has with them all.
There are lots of twists and turns in the book, and I liked that it was unpredictable.

"Into the Storm" is a multi-layered novel set in rural Ireland and focusing on troubled GP Enya Pickering. It includes a mystery, psychological drama, a controlling marriage, the realities of rural life, and so much more. At the heart of the novel there are friendships, family and some of the pagan beliefs followed by Bridget and Flora.

There are some wonderful and complex characters and a plot twist at the end. A really good, engrossing read.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I love Cecilia Ahern's books and wasnt let down by this one, Cecilia Ahern manages to draw you in and captivate you from the very begining. Enya was troubled, full on angst but likable and relateable to so many. Into the storm takes you down so many paths and tangles to keep you wanting more, it was so hard to put down and I loved it

Into the Storm centres around Enya, a GP whose life spirals after encountering a tragic road accident. The event forces her to confront her fears—particularly the possibility of dying at the same age as her mother.

I found this to be a thought-provoking read, admittedly perhaps the twists weren’t particularly a huge surprise. As always though, I loved her descriptions of Ireland. I can always picture her settings in my mind - it’s like I’m there.
