Description

Magic’s forbidden. It’s also the only thing that can save them…

The day Fritz Schenk finds his handmade toys standing guard outside his shop, he realizes TradeMagic is in trouble. Outlawed by the Guild more than half a century ago, the mysterious TradeCrafters’ ability to imbue objects with magical powers is now almost extinct.

Almost.

When seventeen-year-old Liam Kraus and his cousin, fifteen-year-old Anna Beck witnesses magic at an artisan’s market, Liam vows to learn everything about the powers he has been denied— with or without his family’s blessing. But learning TradeMagic from the shadowy members of the Legion means being lured into a sinister plan that could destroy more than just the Guild.

As the enemy gains strength, Fritz knows time is running out to pass TradeMagic’s faded legacy to the next generation. Can he depend on a girl like Anna to lead the charge? Without new TradeCrafters learning magic for the good of all, the Legion’s dark pursuit of TradeMagic’s powers will cause nothing but disaster.

Unless someone is willing to break the rules...

"If you love good stories, well told, that capture the imagination, tickle the brain a bit, and keep you bugging the author for news about when the sequel is released, The Toymaker and the Magic Within is for you."

"This book is so fun and well written. I can’t believe this is the author’s first book! Schreiber weaves a fantastic tale of magic and family that will capture your heart and it is so fun to read. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves fantasy and magic."

"Teenaged angst, warm families, epic battles. I couldn't stop reading, the story sucked me in and wouldn't let go... Did I mention magic? The most unique magic lies between the covers of this book. Although the intended audience is YA, this granny loved it and I have no worries letting my 9 to 13 year old granddaughters read it too. It is a story for all ages."

My teen grandaughter and I both really enjoyed this book. We read it together and thought the story was well constructed and the pacing was just perfect. We were sucked in on the first page (we really need toys like that) and held right to the last page.
