Description
These are the last days of the human race. According to the media, the outbreak is relentlessly spreading to every corner of the planet. Face masks are now compulsory. This afternoon, the World Health Organisation and FEMA issued a joint statement. “This virus is like no other.”
Zenith is a 42-year-old, irritable cleaner. The world is in turmoil, and his week is just about to get worse. His friend, Joy Irani, is missing.
“It’s Joy,” Roshan bleats. “He’s been kidnapped!”
It’s all too familiar. When Zenith was a child, his Uncle Ryan mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Determined to find his friend, Zenith will stop at nothing. After a sequence of odd occurrences, a series of anonymous text messages leads him into a deserted village. Moments later, he finds himself on a boat heading away from the coast of India into the open ocean… Where is the boat heading? Will Zenith ever find Joy?
Author Milan focuses on the notion that humanity was once an advanced race of technologically and spiritually advanced beings, but at the base of the tale is a storyline everyone will be able to relate to: a troubled man who doesn’t know his purpose in the scheme of things. Milan has also been inspired by the style of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and has written Human in a diary format, with the story taking place over one week.
