This is such a great cookbook! I absolutely love pasta, so seeing so many different recipes just for pasta is incredibly exciting! I enjoy how this book is divided into courses. There are photos to go along with some recipes, but some are just written. The art on the dividers is beautiful!

The Italian Family Kitchen is truly an authentic cookbook filled with delicious Italian recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. After living in Italy, I can guarantee that you would find these dishes not only on the menu at a favorite local restaurant, but also in the home of your Italian friends. Pasta Alla Carbonara is a dish that I make repetitively for my family and would recommend to everyone.

I love how this cookbook not only shares authentic Italian cuisine, but it also captures the culture revolving around food. These recipes are the things that gathers families, it’s a place where stories are shared and it’s a family heirloom. Italian food is simple yet delectable, where you allow the flavor of the ingredients to really shine through in the end result.

Anyone that loves REAL Italian food (not the Americanized version) and enjoys learning about other cultures/cuisines will enjoy this cookbook and use it frequently,

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing me with an ARC of this amazing cookbook. It will be one that I recommend to many.

YouTube channel "Pasta Grammar" : who knew that there were 'rules' of pasta? In this excellent cookbook the reader learns of the pattern, rhythm and passion of Italian cuisine firsthand. Embrace it! From creating a menu, stocking a pantry with ingredients to tools and proper usage, this book has all a home chef needs to make a truly Italian meal from start to dessert.

This is an authentic Italian cookbook, it explains the "whys" of Italian cooking such as what the "Italian" menu items mean, why lard is used in making bread and why you use authentic Parmigiano Reggiano and Pecorino cheeses.

You will find suggestions for terra-cotta cookware, pasta machines, amandoline and a vegetable mill to make cooking easier.

You will enjoy learning how to make fresh pasta, tomato sauce and suppli (a fresh rice and cheese stuffed delight, fried to perfection!)

The directions for making bread are detailed and require a lot of folding to make the bread soft and chewy.

The Pasta Alla Puttanesca recipe is easy to follow and is studded with olives, anchovies and mixed fettuccini noodles.

The Almond cookies are very easy to make and the picture looks delicious!

There is something so authentic and wholesome about this cookbook. Nowadays with many influencers and celebrities coming out with a cookbook, it’s hard to find that seems genuine. This one does just that. It feels like you’re reading a family’s recipe book that they’ve passed down for generations. One of my pet peeves is when a recipe will call for a unique ingredient that I know I will probably never use again - I didn’t have that that problem in this book. The recipes felt accessible. Highly recommend the ragu and the saffron risotto. I look forward to trying more especially the fried ones!

I downloaded this cookbook because I was feeling uninspired thinking of things to make for dinner. The first recipe I tried was the egg pasta and Cacio e Pepe. It was delicious. As someone who has never been great with breads, I had unexpected success with the ciabatta. This book makes cooking feel really accessible and wholesome. Beyond just the recipes, this book offers insight into Italian cuisine and Italian culture. I can’t wait to try more recipes especially more of the breads!

I’m so excited to try out these recipes for my own family. I love how the book is set up and the way the recipes are written. I do wish there were more photos but overall a beautiful cookbook.

Great cookbook for beginners to intermediate cooks! It's an incredibly well-organized cookbook, the beginning starts with the kitchen and pantry staples you'll need throughout the cookbook and is organized as a classic Italian meal would be eaten. The recipes are beautifully photographed and easy to follow, there's a variety for vegetarians and meat-eaters. I would personally recommend the bolognese recipe and the tiramisu both were well worth the effort and incredibly delicious. A great cookbook to either add to a collection or start one!

I'll be adding my review to Goodreads, Storygraph, and Amazon on release date

This book has many sections/chapters: The introduction not only has the usual intro stuff, but it has information on how to make different pasta recipes and styles and how to use a pasta machine. The next chapter is on Fried Appetizers, then Bread and Pasta, Ragus, Pastas, Rice, Second courses (meats, fish, etc.), Side dishes and Desserts.

Not being of Italian heritage, I've always wanted to make my own pasta, but I haven't. Maybe this book will encourage me to try. Another thing I've never made is Risotto. This book has more than enough recipes for me to find one to start with. I think it may be the Risotto Al Pomodoro or the Risotto al Parmigiano. The Verdure Gratinate look so good and would be a wonderful way to cook up the extra garden vegetables that are arriving as I write this. And of course, every dessert looks unbelievably good.

The photos in this book make the food look mouth-wateringly good. So many dishes I'd love to try today.

As an Italian, I adored this book. All of it. But why would an Italian read, let alone enjoy, a cookery book made for Americans, I hear you say? Well, lots of Italian recipes are passed on from one generation to another; it is taken for granted that people will pick up culinary know-how from their nonna or zia, or family friend. But I was raised in a family where cooking was not a thing, at all (yes, these families exist even in Italy) and so, despite now being a fairly good cook who is very keen on new recipes, I am missing the basics and all of that taken-for-granted know-how.
I really benefitted from this showcase of Italian cooking techniques explained so well to people who have perhaps never heard of them / heard of some other variation of them. It was informative and at the same time it felt genuine and homely.
The recipes are great, with incredible photos. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in cooking, whether they like Italian food or not!

I liked this book a lot. As an Italian-American who loves eating Italian food, I am always looking for new Italian cookbooks. This one is particularly good. I like how it began with background on the Italian meal and what is needed for an Italian pantry with explanations for both. I also appreciated how the first recipes were the basics such as pasta making. The photos in this book are stunning and really put me in the mood to make Italian food. The recipes seemed very authentic and were a nice blend of well-known dishes and less well-known dishes. The recipes, themselves, were easy to follow and well-written. I can definitely see this cookbook becoming a family favorite and one I will reach for when I am in the mood for Italian food. I also think this would make a beautiful gift. I would absolutely recommend this book.

As an Italian girl I asked myself: "you already know how to prepare and cook pasta, your Nonna taught it to you, do you need to read it on a book online?". YES! Because if there's anything really magical in this world is the power of food, of connections that can be built around a table. There's a line between tradition and innovation and I love to see people play with it.

This book is a gem, it felt like a hug. The photos are stunning, totally mesmerizing - I mean, I love the aesthetic. And recipes are so... I don't know, cookery books are always really elaborate. We aren't, Italian kitchen isn't and I think this book really encapsulated this kind of atmosphere.

Thank you.

This is by far amongst the top 3 books on Italian cuisines and among the top 10 recipe/kitchen books I have ever read.

This book is stunning and the recipes look delicious. Everything from scratch and everything authentic. I can’t wait to try the Ragu Alla Genovese and the sweet and sour butternut squash. Also going to talk my husband into baking me some of these breads 😍

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

As a girl with so much Italian heritage, this cookbook spoke to me. I love Italian food, especially pasta, so I am so excited to try my hand at some new pastas and cook like a real Italian. My husband will be so tired of pasta, but I'll be happy

I absolutely loved this book!

The initial sections provide an excellent foundation for home cooks, which I found incredibly helpful. I also appreciated the inclusion of photos with most recipes. When I tried the pesto with beans, it was a delightful surprise. The chapters on creating variations of tomato sauce were also enjoyable. This book would make a fantastic gift for anyone passionate about cooking, not just those interested in Italian cuisine. It deserves a five-star rating!

Thanks to Net Galley, Eva Santaguida, Harper Alexander, and Quarto Publishing Group for this incredible opportunity. I am genuinely impressed by this book.

As someone who loves to cook, bake and try new things, this was a delightful approach to Italian. It starts with a detailed introduction on how food in Italy is an event, with its own rules. It explains how Italian meals are broken down into multiple courses consisting of of pane, antipasto, primo, secondo, contorno, frutta and dolce. The book then goes above and beyond to truly set you up for a functional Italian kitchen. There's an entire segment on Italian pantry items in depth, including sourcing proper olive oils, cheeses, meat, flours, spices, and the like. It continues to a breakdown of what kitchen tools to have. I was pleasantly surprised to find I was only missing one item, a vegetable mill!

From there we get an explanation on how to make fresh egg pasta in detail, including images, expanding onto semolina, then going as far as to use a pasta machine. It continues into how to cook pasta, broken down into segments for the water, the salt, and the pasta itself. Finishing with timing, tasting, draining, and putting it all together to serve. As someone who already makes fresh pasta, I loved to see how concise the instructions are.

The amount of detail is honestly astounding. They even include how to make a basic tomato sauce and a basic cream sauce, and how to deep fry at home. This is set up in a way where even the most basic of home cooks could tumble their way through and make a beautiful meal, and build off of that.

The book is arranged in the a similar way as the Italian menu is previously explained, and the simplicity and logic in it is so satisfying. I honestly can't find anything I'd change or wish for in reading this - except for more recipes!

I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to flex their kitchen prowess, no matter the skillset!
